How to live stream college football this weekend on ESPN+ and from anywhere Posted: 31 Aug 2019 11:30 AM PDT The summer sun is starting to wane, the leaves have a tinge of brown. Fall is upon us and that means only one thing - a new football season! While you'll have to wait a few more days for the NFL, the NCAA season is now underway and there's a flurry of intriguing games taking place this weekend. We'll tell you how to live stream college football today and, in particular, on ESPN+. So what games are here to get the football juices flowing? The trio of match-ups all kick off with Syracuse at Liberty in Virginia at 6pm local time. It's Liberty’s first season as a bowl eligible FBS team, so the Flames will be keen to make a hot start in front of their own fans. The other two games on ESPN+ get going at 7pm ET / 4pm PT with Stephen F. Austin going to Baylor and Nicholls at Kansas State. The all-Texas showdown sees the much fancied Charlie Brewer at QB for the home team. Under the seasoned leadership of coach Matt Rhule, they've transformed from one of the worst teams in the NCAA to a real dark horse. The K-State Wildcats are welcoming (if that's the right word) the Louisiana-based Nicholls players for a game brimming with determination after last year's fixture. Kansas will be favorites once again, but can Nicholls upset the odds like they did in overtime in 2018? It's going to be a great evening of college football action and you can live stream all three games on ESPN+. Keep reading to discover the details and to see how to watch even if you're outside the US this Saturday.

Linux driver patches hint at AMD Renoir to support LPDDR4X memory Posted: 31 Aug 2019 10:25 AM PDT Great news this weekend for APU fans out there – while the AMD Navi GPUs and Ryzen 3rd generation chips are currently taking over the computing world, it doesn’t mean that the company has forgotten about its integrated graphics users. In a recent report by Tom’s Hardware, it looks like AMD’s next generation APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) might come with LPDDR4X-4266 memory support. If true, this means that AMD Renoir will have a higher maximum data rate than AMD Picasso. The report came a day after serial hardware leaker KOMACHI_ENSAKA shared on Twitter two recent Linux driver patches, the first of which showing AMD Renoir with LPDDR4X-4266 memory support and the second showing the APU touting the LPDDR4 variant’s more impressive 4,266 MHz speed. Considering that Picasso, AMD’s current mobile APU, only accommodate DDR4-2400 modules that maxes out at 2,400 MHz, that’s a huge bump in data transfer rate. Putting that into further perspective, the LPDDR4 format maxes out at 3,200 MHz. If these Linux patches are indeed the real thing, AMD Renoir will be the first AMD chip that supports LPDDR4X.
Improved performanceIn any case, how accurate any of these leaks are will come to light when AMD Renoir comes out. It’s slated to replace AMD Picasso in 2020. What does this mean exactly for potential AMD Renoir users? To start, faster memory delivers improved performance, so we could potentially experience better gaming experience. Additionally, since LPDDR4X boasts an almost 50% I/O voltage reduction, it should offer a more efficient power consumption. This is in addition to the fact that AMD Renoir will be based on Zen 2 architecture and fabricated on 7nm process, which means that it will be thinner and have less power consumption than Picasso’s 12nm chips. Of course, there’s also speculation that Renoir will run with Vega 10 graphics, instead of AMD’s latest Navi graphics, possibly to ensure that the new APUs will roll out faster. That is, if previous Linux patches are also to be believed.

The champions JUventus up against last season's second placed Napoli. In what should be a genuine race for the scudetto this time around, this match is looking like an early title six-pointer. Whether Juve boss Maurizio Sarri likes it or not, his club remains dominated by one man - one Cristiano Ronaldo. But it was the strength of his bench last weekend that shows just why the Old Lady are quite still so intimidating - the likes of de Light, Dybala, Cuadrado, Mandzukic, Bentancur and Buffon would waltz in to most line-ups around the globe. But Napoli's team aren't exactly shy of star men either with Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens, and Kalidou Koulibaly all attempting to dethrone Juventus this season. Can they start this weekend with a huge win in Turin? The good news is that you can watch this intriguing Serie A match (and, indeed, every televised Serie A match) from practically anywhere on Earth. The OnePlus 7T Pro is likely to look a lot like the OnePlus 7 Pro Posted: 31 Aug 2019 06:30 AM PDT OnePlus has some new phones in the offing, and based on some renders that just hit the web, the upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro is going to look very much like the OnePlus 7 Pro that launched in May. The renders come courtesy of @OnLeaks and 91mobiles, sources that can usually be trusted with their phone leaks, and they're based on the rumored specs and designs for the upcoming handsets. As you can see from the pictures we've included below, the OnePlus 7T Pro is going to look virtually identical to the OnePlus 7 Pro, with no major design changes – pop-up selfie camera and all.
The sources do claim that a McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 7T Pro is going to be unveiled, just like last year: the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition featured a different color scheme and improved specs under the hood. So what else do we know about the OnePlus 7T Pro? The phone is expected to show up with a 6.67-inch screen, a 90Hz display refresh rate, and a triple-lens rear camera. The internal processor may well get a bump to the Snapdragon 855 Plus. Besides the McLaren Edition color scheme, a new blue variant could be added to the models, which you can see in the rendering above. The OnePlus 7 Pro currently comes in gray, almond, and a "nebular" shade of blue. More significant design changes could be coming to the OnePlus 7T – other renderings, again courtesy of @OnLeaks, show a circular camera array around the back of the phone, which is quite a different look for OnePlus. The company usually refreshes its flagship models with 'T' versions later in the year, and it seems as though 2019 will be no different. We don't know exactly when the official unveiling will be, but late September or October seems like a good bet. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Which brand do you think leads in updating smartphone software and security? Posted: 31 Aug 2019 04:20 AM PDT While there are tons of Android phone manufacturers, getting them to update your device isn't always easy. Even some of the larger Android manufacturers can sometimes take months to issue an update and this is usually a stat that Apple loves to have a slide on at iOS events. If you are keen on purchasing an Android phone that gets updated fast, the you should look at Counterpoint Research’s latest white-paper which highlights the top vendors with fastest updates as Nokia, Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei. Nokia leads the pack with 96% of its smartphones sold since Q3 2018 are running the latest version of Android which is Android Pie. Samsung follows at 89%, Xiaomi at 84% and Huawei at 82%. The full Counterpoint Research report can be accessed by clicking here. Interestingly, vendors like OnePlus are missing from this report which, we would assume are amongst the fastest to issue Android updates. Counterpoint Research’s states that device makers need to step up their efforts to provide regular software and security updates to their users.

Wales vs Ireland live stream: how to watch rugby international match online from anywhere Posted: 31 Aug 2019 04:00 AM PDT Ireland's World Cup preparations took a massive knock last weekend with a demoralising 57-15 record defeat at the hands of England in Twickenham. Joe Schmidt must now pick his team off the floor and ready them to face world number one ranked Wales on their home turf. No easy feat as the scars will surely remain from Wales' 25-7 rout of Ireland in this year's Six Nations, a victory which sealed the Grand Slam for Warren Gatland's men. Unsurprisingly Ireland look set to make wholesale changes to their line up following the humbling at Twickenham, with former Sale Sharks captain Will Addison set to come in at full-back. Niall Scannell has been drafted in at hooker, while Tadhg Beirne will play in the back row. Wales also look set to ring the changes from their recent 13-6 win over England. With Alun Wyn Jones set to be rested, Josh Navidi looks set to be handed the captain's armband, while there are Test debuts in store for prop Rhys Carré and wing Owen Lane. It's the penultimate warm-up game for both teams ahead of the World Cup, and with both coaches set to name their final 31-man squad after the weekend's action, today's match provides a final chance to shine for those on the fringes. It's also a game you can watch live and in full, no matter where in the world you are, by following our Wales vs Ireland live stream guide below.

Fear not, the action is still within your reach. All you need to do is download and install a VPN to effectively trick your computer into thinking that it's back home. iPhone 11 Pro will be the first iPhone I’m actually interested in – if it exists Posted: 31 Aug 2019 03:00 AM PDT The iPhone 11 doesn’t currently seem interesting enough to sway me from my perpetual ambivalence to Apple’s smartphones – they all seem like phones that are struggling to keep up with Android competitors, but ship for twice the price – but there might be a device in the works that changes my mind. If rumors are to be believed, the iPhone 11 release will also bring with it the surprise unveiling of the iPhone 11 Pro; a handset that’s top-end even by iPhone standards, one that will come with an Apple Pencil-style stylus, and presumably a big screen.
This iPhone 11 Pro isn’t confirmed by any means, but there have been enough leaks about the handset for us to take them seriously, and it has us considering the possibility that Apple is going to take its iPhones down the path of the iPads – bringing out several different variants, headed by the powerful iPad Pro. If real, the iPhone 11 Pro will be a huge departure from previous iPhones – and this fascinates me, since I don’t think most iPhones improve enough between iterations. While I still respect Apple’s products – the iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) is my go-to tablet – I’ve always felt the phones are a little disappointing. However, if the iPhone 11 Pro rumors prove true, it could be the first Apple phone that I’m actually interested in or, dare I say it, excited for. Here’s why. What makes the iPhone 11 Pro so different? While we don’t know the processing power, dimensions, camera specs, or special features of the iPhone 11 Pro, what we have heard is that it may come with a smaller Apple Pencil stylus, similar to the S Pen that comes with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. In the Note 10, the S Pen has a range of useful features. You can take notes, draw, and annotate, as well as use several gestures that trigger functions, like taking pictures. Although they’re similar devices in terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy S10 presents a completely different phone experience to the Note 10, and that’s because it doesn’t have the stylus. This distinction will potentially be echoed in the iPhone 11 Pro. Assuming the base iPhone 11 is a small step up from the iPhone XS, the Pro will be the device which brings interesting new changes to the iPhone series, and that’s a step up that’s rare in Apple’s phone range. What’s so special about a stylus?A phone stylus isn’t just a replacement for a finger for people who have constantly grubby hands, but a peripheral that adds an extra layer of functionality to your handset. The reason for this is that it’s just easier to draw with a stylus than with a finger. Styluses are designed for drawing on smartphone screens, and the experience of drawing is smoother because there’s less friction than when you’re using a human finger. On top of that, us humans are trained to write and draw with a pencil, not with our fingers, so it’s more natural to use a stylus, and a lot more precise too. Have you ever tried taking quick notes with a smartphone? It’s hard to type efficiently on such a small keyboard, and hand-written notes often look gibberish when using a finger. However, when you use a stylus, it’s easy to quickly write down notes and thoughts on the fly. You can also draw, and annotate documents, so much more easily with a stylus, and it feels a lot more natural to do all of those things. Why is this all so exciting?I like to take notes, sign forms, and annotate documents a lot – I currently use an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil for this, but it can be pretty annoying to have to pull that out of my bag every time I need to do a quick task. A phone with a stylus would be valuable. Yes, I could buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 10, but I’m a big fan of the iPad Pro, and really respect the way Apple’s ecosystem of devices works together smoothly. However, I haven’t gone down the phone route yet because, honestly, iPhones just seem a little boring, and Android phones are all a lot more exciting at the moment. But if Apple were to bring out an iPhone 11 Pro with a stylus, designed for professionals or creatives, it would leave the other iPhones in its dust, and I’d be able to get so much more mileage out of it. By writing this opinion piece out, I’ve managed to get myself anticipating a device which isn’t even remotely confirmed by Apple yet, and it’s worth bearing in mind that it’s entirely possible the iPhone 11 Pro isn’t a thing (or that it ends up getting called something totally different). Rumors and leaks sometimes point to real devices, but just as often they’re totally bogus. Saying that, I’m surely not alone in hoping Apple finds some new way to make the iPhone 11 range a real step up from the iPhone X – the kind of step the iPhone XS wasn’t – and a stylus-toting high-end device would be just that handset. Windows 10 May 2019 Update gets fixes for some long-standing bugs Posted: 31 Aug 2019 02:32 AM PDT Windows 10 May 2019 Update has been having a pretty smooth – and speedy – rollout thus far, with only relatively minor niggles, although there have been some more persistent issues remaining unsolved. But the good news is Microsoft has finally cured some of these with a new cumulative update. The main thorny problems which have been hanging around include an error that has been preventing Windows Sandbox from running in certain cases (Microsoft’s solution that lets Windows 10 Pro users run suspicious apps in a sandbox away from the rest of the system). This has been fixed with cumulative update KB4512941.
And another sigh of relief can be breathed by those who were affected by compatibility issues caused by certain Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers and the May 2019 Update. This issue appeared over a month ago now, but Microsoft says it’s resolved with KB4512941 (although the safeguarding block won’t be removed until early September – so presumably next week). The cumulative update also deals with an issue whereby a black screen is displayed when using Remote Desktop to connect to a machine running Windows 10 May 2019 Update. Mixed Reality improvementsMicrosoft further promises that the latest cumulative update improves the “user experience and app compatibility so that more Win32 apps will work with Windows Mixed Reality”, which is good news for those who have invested in one of those headsets. There are a raft of other fixes which Microsoft has detailed in a long list here, but they also include resolving an issue preventing certain games from using Spatial Audio capabilities, and a problem where no cursor appears when selecting text input on a touchscreen. As we mentioned at the outset, the May 2019 Update rollout appears to have accelerated to a very speedy pace, with the upgrade now on 33% of Windows 10 machines according to one set of stats – that figure having tripled since the previous month, showing Microsoft has definitely opened up the floodgates. Most of the folks upgrading are doing so from the April 2018 Update, with prodding from Microsoft because the end-of-service date for that particular update isn’t that far off now (November 12).

If your Apple Watch display is cracking, Apple might replace the screen for free Posted: 31 Aug 2019 02:30 AM PDT Apple says it has identified a problem that "under very rare circumstances" can lead to cracking around the edge of the screen on aluminum Series 2 and Series 3 versions of the Apple Watch – and if you're affected, you can have a free replacement. "Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace the screen on eligible Apple Watch units that exhibit this type of crack, free of charge," Apple says on the official support page for the issue. What we don't know is what's causing this cracking, but it's possible that some sort of manufacturing defect is to blame. That the issue only happens under "very rare circumstances" is encouraging for Series 2 and Series 3 owners.
"The crack may begin on one side and then may continue around the screen as shown in the images below," Apple says. If you have noticed this sort of cracking on the display of your Apple Watch, first head to the support page on Apple's website and check that your model matches one of the case size, color, and date sold combinations listed. You can then take it into an Apple Store or an approved repair shop, or post it off to Apple, to get the screen replaced free of charge. According to Apple you'll be without your wearable for about five business days. These official repair programs are now reasonably common for Apple, though usually only a few devices are affected. The Apple Watch cracking certainly doesn't seem to be on the scale of the MacBook Pro keyboard breaking. In the meantime we're waiting for the Apple Watch Series 5 to make an appearance: we're expecting it to be unveiled on September 10, alongside some new iPhones, with some new casing options in tow. Horn vs Zerafa live stream: how to watch tonight's boxing from anywhere Posted: 31 Aug 2019 12:03 AM PDT Its a big night for Australian fight fans as compatriots Jeff Horn and Michael Zerafa go to toe-to-toe in Victoria. Former WBO welterweight title holder Horn will be putting his WBA Oceania Middleweight belt on the line for tonight's fight, and will be facing a fellow Aussie that's far from the journeyman usually placed in front of a fighter with an eye on a world title fight. You can watch all of the action from the comfort of your own sofa from anywhere in the world with our Horn vs Zerafa live stream guide below. Horn, a domestic boxing hero, is probably best know worldwide for his controversial points win over Manny Pacquiao back in 2017 which saw him unseat the then WBO welterweight champ. Having lost his title to Terence Crawford a year later, Horn has since moved to middleweight, and will have his eye on a late December title fight with WBA middleweight champion Ryoto Murata in Japan that has been agreed in principle. Zerafa, an Olympic gold medal winner at London 2012, has a strong pedigree, having only lost to top draw opposition (e.g. Peter Quillin, Kell Brook, Arif Magomedov) and will be hoping for complacency from his opponent. To ensure you can see the whole thing in real time so you don't miss any of the action, we've put together this guide to help you watch a Horn vs Zerafa live stream. As with most boxing, it's not always available in every country so you may find a VPN is the best way to stream the fight, which you'll find out all about below.

UFC live stream: how to watch Andrade vs Weili at Fight Night China online from anywhere Posted: 30 Aug 2019 05:41 PM PDT How would you like a side of MMA with your breakfast? UFC returns with Fight Night 157 in the early hours of Saturday morning beaming all the way from China. The event will be held in Shenzen for the very first time as UFC continues its quest for global ultimate fighting dominance. That means this one kicks off earlier for MMA fans in the US with the main card starting at 6am ET, 3am PT on ESPN+. We’ll explain how much it costs and how it works below so that you're completely clued up on how to live stream UFC 157. There are five matches on the main Fight Night 157 card (following six in the prelims) with plenty of local interest across the men's and women's divisions. China meets Brazil as welterweights Li Jingliang and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos go head-to-head in the Octagon, while Jamahal 'Sweet Dreams' Hill represents American interests with a light-heavyweight match-up against Da Un Jung. But undeniably the main attraction is the match in the main event spot - a Women's Strawweight Championship bout where the awesome Jessica Andrade puts her belt on the line against the Chinese Weili Zhang. If you know anything about Andrade then you know just how dangerous she can be, and she is looking like a mighty champion after winning the belt from Rose Namajunas back in May. But Zhang is currently on a 19 fight win streak and shouldn't be underestimated as a challenger. UFC Fight Night China is set to be a real stunner and you can watch it in its entirety. All the fights can be watched in the US exclusively online via the ESPN+ subscription service. So keep reading to see your viewing options to get a UFC live stream, whether or not you're in the US this weekend.
