US Open 2019 live stream: how to watch the tennis online from anywhere Posted: 25 Aug 2019 01:10 PM PDT The 139th edition of the US Open is upon us. Taking place at Flushing Meadows in New York City, it's the tennis season's fourth and final major. This year there's a bumper prize money pot of more than $57 million up for grabs at, including $3.9 million for each singles champion, with Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka the defending champions. We've compiled this handy guide for watching the US Open on TV or by live stream online, no matter where you are in the world. The men's singles tournament at the US Open has been near dominated in recent times by tennis's big three players (who else?); Roger Federer has five wins, Rafa Nadal has a treble, while Novak Djokovic has also lifted the trophy at Flushing Meadows on three occasions. Arguably the greatest trio to grace the sport, all three iconic players are fit for this year's competition. Having won five of the last six Slam titles, Djokovic is the outright favorite, however the Serbian star comes into the tournament off the back of a shock defeat to Daniil Medvedev in the Western and Southern Open semi-finals. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on 37-year-old Serena Williams as she attempts to equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 women's Grand Slam singles titles. Having struggled with a knee injury earlier in the season, could a now fully fit Williams finally make the piece of tennis history she has had in her sights for so long? It may be one of the last chances to watch some of tennis's golden generation competing on one of its biggest stages, so make sure you don't miss any of the tennis by following our US Open live stream guide below. Live stream the US Open tennis 2019 from outside your countryFor your watching options in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, we have more details below - just scroll down the page. Rendering of leaked PS5 design brings the rumored console to life Posted: 25 Aug 2019 10:39 AM PDT If you have some misgivings about that leaked PlayStation game console patent that could be the long-awaited PlayStation 5, you might be in for a pleasant surprise if Sony actually uses the design. At least, if the actual production model were to look anything like the 3D rendering that LetsGoDigital designed themselves. The first to report about the leaked patent, the Dutch publication created their own 3D renderings for what could be the next PlayStation 5, all based on the patent illustrations they obtained showcasing the console from different angles. That includes the back section and its ports. While the console in those illustrations might seem like a weird-looking night vision device from the future – and quite a departure from the PS4 design, LetsGoDigital’s 3D renderings have actually upped its cool factor by a few notches.
A taste of things to comeAs opposed to the boring white on shaded gray look the console was sporting in the illustrations, LetsGoDigital gives the rumored PS5 an all-black sleek and shiny exterior. It also comes complete with a PS5 logo, multimedia buttons, and blue lighting. To make it look even more attractive, that curved V shape on top, which we speculated could be in reference to the Roman numeral V, as well as side slits near the bottom that could be the vents, is lit up with LED lighting. Finally, there looks to be five USB ports in the front for connecting controllers, USB headphones and external hard drives to the console. Of course, these 3D models are entirely speculative. It has been confirmed that the design was indeed registered in the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) database this August, and Matt Stott, Senior Artist at Codemasters, did say in a now deleted tweet that it’s the PS5 Dev Kit. Still, the only way to know how exactly the PlayStation 5 will look is when Sony releases official images of the console themselves. So we’ll have to wait and see how accurate these 3D renderings are.

Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: 13 key differences you need to know Posted: 25 Aug 2019 07:58 AM PDT Canon has been rumored to be working on an EOS 90D for some time, and now that marketing materials for the model appear to have been released ahead of its announcement we're starting to get a better idea of exactly how the model improves on the previous EOS 80D. We say 'starting to' as none of this information has been confirmed by Canon itself, so we'll have to wait for the official launch to know for sure – although judging by the leaked spec sheet and promotional video for the model, we're putting our money on these being genuine details of what's in store. So, from what we can tell right now, here are all the main upgrades the newer model is getting over the three-year-old EOS 80D. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: resolutionAs has been rumored for some time, the EOS 90D appears to make use of a fresh 32.5MP APS-C format sensor, which is quite a step up from the 24.2MP sensor in the EOS 80D. This gives the newer model the potential for capturing noticeably more detail, although one thing we don't know is whether the sensor will have an anti-aliasing filter. This was something that was fitted to the EOS 80D's sensor, although the specs of the EOS 90D we have right now don't mention this. Once again, the sensor is sized to the standard 3:2 aspect ratio, and it has a standard Bayer RGB color filter array in front of it. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: processorThe EOS 90D makes use of a DIGIC 8 processing engine, the same one that stars in a slew of recent models from Canon like the EOS R, PowerShot G7 X Mark III and the EOS Rebel SL3 / EOS 250D. This gives the camera a handful of performance boosts over the EOS 80D, which employed the older DIGIC 6 engine, and we'll be running through these individually below. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: 4K videoCanon has only blessed three of its DSLRs with 4K video recording to date, namely the EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS 1D X Mark II, and the most recent EOS Rebel SL3 / EOS 250D, although it has also incorporated it into its mirrorless models like the EOS M50 and EOS RP. The EOS 80D has Full HD capture at 60p as its top setting, although now that we have a model as affordable as the EOS Rebel SL3 / 250D toting 4K capabilities, it's no surprise to see 4K being included here. The EOS 90D is capable of outputting 4K UHD footage to 30/25p, and the leaked spec sheet states that Full HD recording to 120p is also on hand. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: burst rateThe EOS 80D captures images at a respectable 7fps, but the extra processing muscle inside the EOS 90D means the newer model ramps things up to a speedier 10fps when using the viewfinder. From the promotional video, it appears that this 10fps mode will also allow the user to track subjects, or keep the focus fixed on that of the first frame. The spec sheet states that when using live view the maximum burst rate can be as high as 11fps, again in either One Shot or AI Servo modes. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: multi controllerManufacturers release new cameras without this kind of joystick-type control at their peril, and as autofocus systems have become more advanced it's become expected on cameras of all kinds, with its capabilities now extending beyond simple focus-point adjustment. The EOS 80D missed out on this feature – but it seems the EOS 90D will be furnished with it. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: metering sensorThe EOS 90D appears to be the first Canon EOS DSLR to make use of a 220,000-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor. The spec sheet goes into more details on this, saying that it takes its readings from 216 zones to calculate correct exposure and also help with things like autofocus tracking. This may well prove to be more accurate than the sensor inside the EOS 80D, which uses 7,560 pixels and splits the scene into 63 segments to do the same thing. Incidentally, this isn't quite as fancy as it gets for Canon: the EOS-1D X Mark II employs a 360,000-pixel RGB+IR sensor to do the same. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: face detectionWill the EOS 90D allow for face detection when using the viewfinder? It's not possible on the EOS 80D, but the above still from the video certainly seems to suggest the new metering sensor makes it an option on the EOS 90D. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: Eye Detection AFWhile the EOS 90D's 45-point all-cross-type AF system appears to be the same as on the 80D, eye detection with continuous focus looks set to feature on the EOS 90D. This is one area where manufacturers are putting in a lot of effort right now, so it's no big surprise to see this mentioned in the video too. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: wireless connectivityThe EOS 80D arrived with Wi-Fi and NFC built in, and this allows users to control the camera remotely, and download images and videos over a cable-free connection. It appears, as we'd expect, that Wi-Fi has been maintained for the new model, and it's now joined by Bluetooth, something the EOS 80D doesn't have. We can't be sure, but it appears that NFC has been dropped from the EOS 90D, as this is nowhere to be seen in the leaked spec sheet. Such a move is consistent with the actions made by other manufacturers such as Panasonic, who has also dropped it from more recent models. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: battery lifeDespite the fact that both the EOS 90D and EOS 80D make use of the same LP-E6N battery, there's been a considerable jump in battery life with the newer model. Whereas the EOS 80D can fire around 960 frames per charge, the promotional video states that the EOS 90D can manage 1,300 frames per charge, which is potentially at least partly down to a more efficient processing engine. How does that compare? The camera's closest rival is likely to be the Nikon D7500, which promises 950 frames per charge. Even the Nikon D500, which is likely to be far pricer than the EOS 90D, can only manage 1,240 shots. There is, however, some confusion here, as the spec sheet states that the EOS 90D is actually capable of 1,860 frames per charge. The video makes it clear that 1,300 is the CIPA rating, so it's possible that 1,860 can only be achieved by using some sort of power-saving mode. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: build qualityOne thing that might not be as easily appreciated is build quality, specifically the changes Canon appears to have made for the newer model to ensure solidity and better protection against the elements. The EOS 80D was designed with a casing that blended polycarbonate resin and glass fibers, whereas the EOS 90D appears to make use of aluminum alloy in addition to these. This is often used on models of this kind, and may well provide better protection. The EOS 80D already provided resistance to dust and moisture, and it appears that this continues in the EOS 90D, partly through seals around areas like the battery compartment, lens mount and viewfinder, but also through the use of high-precision parts to minimize any gaps between components. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: UHS-II supportThis was one detail we noticed in the leaked spec sheet rather than the video. Both the EOS 80D and EOS 90D accept the same kinds of SD cards, from the older vanilla SD types through to the current SDHC and SDXC examples. One key advantage of the EOS 90D, however, is that it supports both UHS-I and UHS-II formats of the SDHC and SDXC cards, rather than just the UHS-I cards supported by the EOS 80D. This gives it a theoretical advantage with regards to data transfer rates. Canon EOS 90D vs Canon EOS 80D: weightThere's barely any difference in size between the two models, with the EOS 80D measuring 139.0 x 105.2 x 78.5mm, and the EOS 90D, according to the leak, measuring 140.7 x 104.8 x 76.8mm. The EOS 90D is, however, a touch lighter. With its battery and memory card in place, the camera weighs around 701g, compared to the 730g of the EOS 80D. Unofficial 'dummy' model videos show off what to expect from the iPhone 11 Posted: 25 Aug 2019 06:30 AM PDT We're definitely in iPhone 11 leaks season now – with the official launch just two or three weeks away, we've got plenty of rumors and speculation floating around the web... as well as a new video showing dummy models of the iPhone 11. The phones you see in the ConceptsiPhone video below aren't real iPhones, but they're mocked up dummies based on everything that's leaked out so far. They should be pretty close to the real deal. According to BGR, the dummy models make a few mistakes: they don't use the updated round toggle for the mute switch, and the area around the camera lenses isn't color-matched to the rest of the back.
We get to look at the phone in white and rose gold versions, and there's also a shot of what an iPhone 11 case might look like – with that updated rear camera, you're not going to be able to use your existing case. Based on the rumors we've heard so far, the iPhone 11 range will feature two 'Pro' models as well as a successor to the iPhone XR. These two higher-end handsets will have the triple-lens cameras you can see in the video above. That extra lens means more photography tricks, with enhanced HDR and wider angle shots on the table. Apparently they might match DSLRs in terms of quality. There's also an increasing amount of talk about Apple Pencil support for the iPhones, something that's been rumored ever since the Apple Pencil first appeared. This year could be the year that happens. With the iPhone 11 launch date rumored to be on Tuesday, September 10 or thereabouts, we don't have long to wait to find out exactly what Apple has been working on – and of course we'll bring you all the announcements as they happen. Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s Ghost War adds some much-needed suspense to PvP Posted: 25 Aug 2019 05:00 AM PDT There are a few things that are certain in life: death, taxes and the fact that Ubisoft will continue to release more Tom Clancy titles than we can possibly keep up with. The latest addition to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series is Breakpoint, an open-world tactical shooter. We got some time with Breakpoint’s 4v4 Ghost War mode at Gamescom 2019 and found that, while it certainly adds more suspense to the usual team death match formula, it doesn’t do much to radically shake up the genre. Communication is keyThe premise of Ghost War is pretty straightforward, lending features from several popular Battle Royales. You go head to head in a squad of four against another team of four, with the aim being to down all the enemies on the other team/get the most kills as a team. Meanwhile, there’s a blue circle moving in which forces you into closer proximity over time - sound familiar? While there are some obvious traits copied from titles like Apex Legends and Fortnite, the interesting aspect of Ghost War is that there are only two teams facing off, essentially meaning that hiding and waiting till the firefight blows over isn’t really a legitimate option. In addition, it’s more vital than ever to strategize and communicate with your team - even if you’re not a fan of communication. For example, when we started playing matches, my team did little to communicate vocally but this often meant that several people on the team were picking the same class or being flanked by enemies. If you don’t want to speak, don’t worry, there’s a handy ping system on hand for you to tag enemies (even when you’re dead and simply spectating). Speaking of classes, there are four available in Ghost War: Assault, Sharpshooter, Panther and Field Medic. As you would probably expect, Assault is your run-of-the-mill shooter, while Sharpshooter focuses on sniping and Field Medic is the healer of the battlefield. Of none of those take your fancy, then you could make the most of Guerrilla warfare and choose Panther, a stealth-focused class for those who prefer to take out the enemy team quickly and quietly. Nobody likes a clunky soldierThe smaller teams and closer proximity add an extra layer of suspense that can often be lacking in team death match. Usually it’s a mode of pure chaos in the average FPS but in Ghost War, it takes a bit more patience - or it should. While this is certainly Ghost War’s biggest strength, the mode also benefits from the fluidity of character movement. As a sniper, I could easily climb to higher heights for the perfect vantage point and smoothly switch between crouching and lying flat as I crawled through the tall grass to take my shot. It’s a small detail, but was vital in removing any potential clunkiness that can often hold FPS titles back. The dynamic weather and day/night cycle also went far in keeping the matches fresh and creating new obstacles to overcome. It’s hard to snipe on a dark, rainy night. However, even with these things in mind, it’s not quite enough to make Breakpoint’s PVP mode anything particularly special. We played several matches of Ghost War but after a while things began to get stale. It’s entirely possible that’s because we only experienced a couple of maps which grew tiresome, at launch there will be more - but we don’t expect any game changing additions. Don't expect a shake upGhost Recon’s Breakpoint Ghost War more isn’t doing anything that shakes up PVP particularly. If you’re someone who is happy with a basic FPS experience with some added suspense and fluidity then it’s probably for you, but don’t go expecting any groundbreaking features.

MediaTek to give Qualcomm a run for their money in affordable premium smartphones Posted: 25 Aug 2019 03:26 AM PDT Qualcomm, which has been dominating the affordable premium smartphone segment ($250-$500), is poised to face stiff competition from MediaTek with its Helio G90 series chipsets. Shobhit Srivastava, research analyst for mobile devices and ecosystem at Counterpoint Research, told TechRadar Middle East that MediaTek has more affordable chipsets and many Chinese OEMs are using it to diversify their supply chain and want to have devices in every price segment. In the premium segment, he said that Apple, Huawei and Samsung have their own chipsets and then comes the third-party providers such as Qualcomm and MediaTek. According to research company Statista, Qualcomm had 45% overall market share in 2018, followed by Apple with 17%, Samsung with 14%, MediaTek with 11% and Huawei with 8%. According to Counterpoint’s preliminary data in the second quarter, MediaTek had 40.3% share and Qualcomm had 32.5% in under $149 price segment; MediaTek had 6.4% share and Qualcomm had 43% in $249-$599 price segment while MediaTek had 0.3% share and Qualcomm had 21.7% in above $599 price segment. In the Middle East and Africa region, MediaTek had 51% share and Qualcomm had 10.7% in under $149 price segment; MediaTek had 5.8% share and Qualcomm had 44.8% in $249-$599 price segment while MediaTek had 0% share and Qualcomm had 4.6% in above $599 price segment. Chinese players take lead“MediaTek has a very small share in the premium segment. In the affordable premium segment and gaming smartphone, MediaTek can gain market share from Qualcomm. OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are major players in this price segment,” Srivastava said. The affordable premium segment constitutes nearly one-fifth of the total smartphone market. Srivastava said that the new G90 series chipsets are a direct competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 and 700 series. The new G90 and G90T chipsets are gaining traction among leading Chinese players. Xiaomi has already announced a gaming phone with the Helio G90T chipset for launch in the first quarter of next year. Srivastava said that Chinese OEMs like Oppo and Vivo’s focus on the gaming smartphone market and the affordable premium segment can bode well for MediaTek’s new chipsets. The Taiwanese chipmaker has ramped up its product portfolio in the last few years with the Helio P and Helio A series chipsets. The low-cost Helio P22 and the Helio A22 chipsets were among the best-selling chipsets during the second quarter of this year. Right price point is vitalWith the new G90 and G90T series, Srivastava said that MediaTek is planning to capture a slice of the gaming market and dent Qualcomm’s dominance. Regarding technology, Srivastava said that Qualcomm has an edge over MediaTek but giving it at the right price point is also important. Counterpoint data also show that gaming smartphones have a bright future. According to a survey conducted by the research firm, 31% of smartphone owners are gaming for over three hours a day on their devices. “All in all, the new G90 and G90T series will provide MediaTek with a stronger competitive edge as it seeks to expand its share in higher price bands,” he said. Moreover, after declining for six straight quarters, he said that 5G is going to drive smartphone growth next year. “Qualcomm has first-mover advantage and has partnered with many OEMs. When MediaTek comes out with its 5G chipsets, it will come out at an affordable price point,” he said.

New OnePlus 7T renders show off a circular rear camera bump Posted: 25 Aug 2019 02:30 AM PDT The OnePlus 7T rumors and leaks are coming thick and fast now, and the latest unofficial images to hit the web are some very nicely done renders that pull together everything we think we know so far about the phone. Created by @OnLeaks and shared on Pricebaba, the images (and accompanying video) show a phone with a tiny teardrop notch on the front of the device and a circular, triple-lens camera on the back. That rear camera setup matches a leaked sketch we saw just a couple of days ago from another reputable phone tipster, so it's starting to look pretty likely that this is indeed what we can expect from the OnePlus 7T.
OnePlus usually reserves big design changes for its big flagship launches, rather than the T variation models, but this year it might buck the trend – and the design does match a leaked photo that appeared online in December. Aside from the cameras, we're expecting a 6.5-inch display from the OnePlus 7T, as well as the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage (this is all unofficial for now though). As for a launch date, we think the phone might launch in India as early as September, with a global launch to follow in October. OnePlus hasn't put anything official on the calendar yet. We were impressed with what the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro had to offer when they were unveiled in May, and it looks as though OnePlus won't be resting on its laurels when it comes to its mid-cycle refresh either. As the days tick around to September it shouldn't be too long before we hear something official from OnePlus – in the meantime, we're got plenty of leaks and renders to pore over. England vs Australia 3rd Test live stream: how to watch Ashes Day 4 cricket from anywhere Posted: 25 Aug 2019 02:25 AM PDT Wow! We did NOT expect there to be Ashes cricket today, but Joe Root's innings has brought England right back into the 3rd Test and, possibly, the series. You don't want to miss today's cricket where the result is there for the taking at Headingley. If you've been completely bowled over (sorry!) by this cricket series, we'll tell you the best ways to get an England vs Australia 3rd Test live stream. Yep, all comes down to this. If Australia's Hazlewood, Pattinson, Cummins and co take seven wickets, they retain the Ashes. If Joe Root, Ben Stokes and the England batsmen can knock off 200 runs, then they square up the series with two Tests remaining. Tantalising doesn't quite describe what's on offer in Yorkshire this Sunday. The key issue ahead of the action in Leeds was always going to be how the Aussies deal with the loss of Steve Smith. Marnus Labuschagne has certainly proved a fitting replacement. Cameron Bancroft's poor form sees him replaced by Marcus Harris, while Peter Siddle makes way for James Pattinson as the Green Caps' seamers are rotated again. For England, they'll be looking for the likes of Joe Root, Johnny Bairstow and Jos Buttler to finally fire and avoid the kind of mid-order collapse that seems to have become the norm for this side in recent years. Windows 10 patch messes up Bluetooth speakers – but there’s a workaround Posted: 25 Aug 2019 12:42 AM PDT Windows 10 May 2019 Update users have been hit by a bug brought in by the latest cumulative update which is causing Bluetooth speakers not to work. Specifically, this is KB4505903, a patch designed to deliver various fixes, including smoothing over issues with Windows Hello facial recognition logins, and problems with Bluetooth devices. KB4505903 is supposed to resolve an audio bug and improve Bluetooth audio quality in some respects – when using certain audio profiles for long periods – but instead it seems to have rather broken things for PCs that have an internal speaker installed.
On these machines, after installing the aforementioned patch, May 2019 Update users may find that their Bluetooth speaker will no longer connect to their PC, or if it does connect, the audio quality will be poor. A third problematic scenario described by Microsoft in its support document is that the Bluetooth speaker may connect, but the sound may come out of the PC’s internal speaker, rather than the Bluetooth device. Microsoft further notes: “Additionally, in Device Manager, you notice an entry under the Sound, video and game controllers node for Microsoft Bluetooth A2dp Source that shows a yellow bang (exclamation mark) icon.” Suggested workaroundPresumably Microsoft is currently fixing this issue, but for now, there’s a workaround detailed in the support document. Affected May 2019 Update users need to fire up the System File Checker tool and use that to repair missing/corrupted files, which is evidently the issue here following the cumulative update. To do this, you need to open the command line – and if you’re not sure how to do that, simply type ’cmd’ in the search box (next to the Start button) and click on the Command Prompt app at the top. Once that’s open, type in the following, and press enter: You may have to wait for a number of minutes for the scan and repair to actually be carried out, but once it’s finished, reboot your PC. Hopefully everything should now be back to normal with your Bluetooth devices in Windows 10.

Intel rumored to release 10-core Comet Lake CPUs for desktops in 2020 Posted: 24 Aug 2019 02:40 PM PDT Intel recently made a huge splash with the release of its Comet Lake processors for laptops and tablets, but that doesn’t mean it’s done. Hong Kong-based website, XFastest, recently shared three leaked slides from an anonymous source showing an Intel Core platform boasting a new Intel 400 series chipset and an LGA 1200 socket. To top that off, these slides also include a roadmap indicating that the 10-core Comet Lake CPUs for desktop computers are slated to roll out in the first quarter of 2020. Based on the slides, this new chipset looks to be designed to support up to 10-core and 20-thread processors. The platform details also suggest that the enthusiast level TDP is seeing a bump of up to 125W from the previous 95W for enhanced core & memory overclocking. According to ExtremeTech, Intel might be trying to avoid cutting the base clock speed as it did when moving from the 8th to 9th generations as well. The updated LGA 1200 socket and Intel 400 series chipset means that you’ll need to buy a new motherboard with these specs if you want to upgrade once the Comet Lake-S processors come out. However, jumping on board with the Comet Lake-S also includes integrated support for 802.11ax, the next generation of wireless support also known as Wi-Fi6. With the potential roll-out of the Comet Lake desktop processors coming the beginning of 2020, there will be plenty more speculation on what to expect.
How does this compare to Team Red?While we’re still hoping for slimmer CPU’s from Intel to compete with AMD’s 7nm offerings, it has decided to stick with their tried-and-true 14nm process. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how Comet Lake-S compares to AMD’s newest Ryzen options, which already go up to 16 cores and 32 threads. Intel has always led with its single core performance, and we’re excited to see how Comet Lake-S improves upon its already powerful results. And, while AMD will probably still outperform Intel in the multi-core department, maybe the extra 2 cores and increased TDP will close the gap. The true test for most people will be price. There’s no information on that yet, Intel might try and shake up AMD’s top-flight offerings. Whatever the prices end up being, we’ll keep you up to date on Comet Lake-S news.
