So what's the perfect way to celebrate? A big party? Celebrations with the entire family? Or maybe you just want to watch the Doctor Who New Years Special online - surely the best way to start a new year! And considering Whovians have had to hold out an entire year since the last time they got to see a new dose of Doctor Who action, this will be at the top of most people's festive TV watching plans. And some even better news - this episode is set to be one of the biggest and longest in the show's entire history, so big in fact that they've split it into two parts just to fit all of that action. Of course, Doctor Who is normally somewhat of a Christmas tradition, moving from its Christmas Day slot into the New Year. So for those losing their favorite Christmas past-time, this double bill action will be just the news you were looking for. We've done the research, tracked down times, locations and everything you need to know to watch Doctor Who New Year Special online and listed it all below. We've even got options for those out of the UK while the episode airs! How to watch Doctor Who New Year special online for free in the UK:Ready to catch Doctor Who in all of its glory once again? Both are completely free to use and will give full access to both New Year Doctor Who episodes. Stream Doctor Who from anywhere else in the world for free:Away on holiday for New Year's Day or currently living abroad? Sadly, this will mean the Doctor Who episodes are geo-blocked for you. Luckily there's an easy solution to remedy this. All you have to do is appear like you're back in the UK thanks to the use of a VPN. A VPN is a tool that alters your IP address to make it look like you're somewhere else - perfect for trying to stream TV. The show was also free to watch on the Amazon Prime subscription for a while but will now cost you per episode if you look to go that way. Looking for a full session of binge-watching? Britbox will be the way to go, with all the classic Doctor Who dating from its first ever episodes in the 60s. However, Britbox will require a VPN to circumvent its USA and Canada geo-restriction – scroll up for all the info on that. The best cheap gaming mouse deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:33 AM PST This is a great time to be shopping for a cheap gaming mouse deal - with the holidays approaching, retailers are keen to discount gaming peripherals to net gift buyers at every price level. That's why you'll regularly find top brands like Logitech, SteelSeries, and Corsair for far less in these months than you would any other time of year. Beyond the price tag, there are plenty of other features and factors to take into consideration when shopping for a cheap gaming mouse deal. We've made everything easier for you by listing the best gaming mouse deals we've come across alongside their specs and defining features. When you buy the best mouse for gaming, it’s crucial to be conscious of the price you’re paying relative to the specs and comfort that you’ll be getting from it. You don’t need to know what ‘DPI’ or ‘CPI’ means (it’s dots per inch, by the way), but it does come in handy to know the value of 4,000 vs 16,000 of them. It also doesn’t hurt to know that a higher polling rate gives you better response times and lower latency. Matching all of these specs with the click feel and customization options that are right for you, as well as balancing a price tag alongside all these decisions can be tough. So we've gathered the best gaming mouse deals from around the internet to bring you high-quality pointers for the best price. Whether you’re looking for a gaming mouse that’s wireless or wired, RGB or subtle, you can count on our recommendations to get you where you’re going, no matter what kinds of games you play. Cheap gaming mouse deals:The G203 is part of Logitech's budget range designed to provide everyone with high quality PC gaming gear, and this mouse does just that. With up to 8,000 DPI offering a mid-range experience in 2019, and six programmable buttons for a decent amount of custom inputs this is a mid-range mouse for an excellent price. While the sensor isn't the fastest of Logitech's range, you wouldn't have guessed it as the G203's performance is as snappy and responsive as many other higher priced mice. The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury was the Rolls Royce of gaming mouse when it first landed, and now it can be had at an awesome discount. If you want the substantial feel of one of Logitech's more high end mice but with the price tag of their budget range, this is the deal for you. The G402 is only capable of up to 4,000DPI, which puts it behind a fair few items on this list, but the eight programmable buttons mark a boost up from others at this price. It's a classic gaming mouse that has done the rounds since its release in 2014 but it still holds up today at some excellent price tags. The Steelseries Sensei 310 is a sublime ambidextrous mouse with excellent tracking and design considerations that go beyond left / right handed players to create a smooth mechanical experience. Larger handed players may struggle with the tiny stature of this claw / tip grip wired mouse, but if you're looking for something flexible and cheap while offering a great response and tracking experience this is a great deal. Corsair is a trusted brand for a reason - they develop high quality gaming products at a fair price tag. While the Ironclaw may be a little heavy for some, it's a fantastically tactile gaming mouse with up to 18,000 DPI and an optical sensor. Tracking and response are sublime, and the range and placement of the customizable buttons will serve any genre well. This is one of the cheaper performance gaming mice on this list, so well worth a look if you're looking to save cash. You need speed for a mouse designed for shooting and the Razer DeathAdder Elite has that in bags. The custom 5G sensor from Razer and Pixart will keep your movements fresh and lightning fast, tracking across 450 inches per second. Plus, the DeathAdder design will sit beautifully on any desk. You are limited in your button configurations, but if you're after performance on a great gaming mouse deal, you won't find much better than this. Having all your powers at your fingertips can make all the difference in MMO and MOBA games, and the Corsair Scimitar RGB is among the finest multi-button gaming mice. Not only do you have 12 fully customizable macro buttons, they all also integrate mechanical key switches that ride along an adjustable rail. The Scimitar tops everything off with a 12,000 DPI sensor and four-zone RGB lighting setup. Extended gaming sessions can really do a number on your wrist, which is why many are turning to more ergonomically designed gaming mouse deals as opposed to the flashier RGB options. The Logitech MX Vertical may take some getting used to but it will make a hell of a difference once you do. Let's get it out the way, this is an optical mouse with a top DPI of 4,000 but that sensor is incredibly precise. If you're not looking to use your new mouse with a high octane gaming experience and want the most comfortable option on the market, look no further. Wireless technology often comes at a premium, but you can still find some real steals. Take for instance the Logitech G Pro, a strong combination of wireless power and affordability. You don't need to compromise on your tracking speed and response rate if you go wireless, the Logitech G Pro is capable of up to 16,000 DPI all the more improved by their HERO sensor. With a killer battery life and optional extra buttons to add to your mouse, this is a great flexible wireless mouse to start off with. Plus, its unassuming form factor will fit in with everything else you use your computer for. This beast of a gaming mouse has seen favour from fans since its release. The Logitech G502 Lightspeed mouse is one of the best in the market right now, and if you're looking to spend a little more you can be safe in the knowledge that an upgrade won't be necessary in the near future. Aside from looking and feeling great, the wireless powerhouse brings sensors and tracking to the top of their game inside a heavily customizable shell. This is a stellar gaming mouse, and one to keep an eye on for great deals. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
The best cheap Chromebook prices and deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:28 AM PST After the best Chromebook deals around? We've got top prices from retailers across the world wide web selling the best Chromebooks out there. If you don't know where to start: don't worry. We've scoured the major online retailers for the biggest Chromebook price drops to save you the trouble – and are keeping this page updated throughout the year for whenever you happen to be on the hunt for a new Chromebook computer. Certainly, the cheapest Chromebooks are already pretty good for the price, and tend to be aimed at those who don't want to blow all their cash on a single gadget purchase. That said, you don’t need to worry about us prioritizing affordability over quality either. The best Chromebook price is often one that incorporates decent specs at a low cost, and we've found a range of models perfect for a variety of different needs. Without further delay, let’s dive in. What makes a good Chromebook price? The cheapest Chromebooks can sometimes be guilty of skimping on their specs. To find the best Chromebook price, therefore, it's important to keep your needs in mind when it comes to processor quality and storage solutions. There are definitely deals that take both power and cost efficiency into account, so it's important to keep an eye out for anything with an SSD capable of storing and managing updates (if you're not running ChromeOS) and RAM above the 2GB baseline that often appears in searches.
Our favorite Chromebooks on saleThis is where you should begin your search for a Chromebook. At 14 inches in screen size and inside an adorable frame, the HP Chromebook 14 offers a fine middle ground for the indecisive shopper. With standardized parts inside, this Chromebook can do essentially all its closest rivals can and then some, with its microSD card reader and slew of ports – unlike similarly-priced, tinier Chromebooks. Read our full review: HP Chromebook 14 It’s almost as if Dell hand-crafted this Chromebook to get work done in the classroom. It’s got an indicator light on the lid that teachers can use as if the student raised his or her hand to answer (or ask) a question. And, it’s rubberized in many places to better survive drops and dents. It’s an awfully mobile laptop, too, making it sensible for work at almost any class level, or if you just want a lightweight web browser and email machine. In the education sector, a Chromebook price can be one of the most important factors so you'll be safe in the knowledge that this Dell 11 is efficient as well. Read our full review: Dell Chromebook 11 If you’re looking for a large laptop but don’t want to spend too much, a Chromebook price offers the perfect deal for you. Acer’s crafted a strong, 15.6-inch Chrome machine that can house plenty of beefier components than most other laptops at its price range. It doesn’t do much that’s exclusive to its larger size so much that it simply does those things more. For many, that’s a selling point worth trying to find the best deal over, and this just so happens to be the best one. Read our full review: Acer Chromebook 15 The Google Pixelbook Go has only just left its box, but it's already one of the most powerful Chromebooks out there. It does have the price tag to match, but it's nowhere near the $1,000/£1,000 tag on its predecessor. The 8th generation of processors to choose from and the substantial SSD sizes on offer mean you'll be zipping through tasks on an ultra portable laptop with a great full HD screen. Plus, the Go can manage all that and still stay alive for 12 hours at a time, which is pretty good going when you consider the power stored inside this sleek shell. It might not be the cheap and cheerful machine you were expecting to pick up, but it's certainly worth a look if you're going to be using your Chromebook for anything strenuous. The R11's subdued design may not win any awards, but inside that white shell is a surprisingly slim laptop destined to last an entire day's work. It’s even among the first Chromebooks to support Android apps by way of the Google Play Store. So, if you’ve ever wanted to use Firefox on a Chromebook, now you can. The R11 packs day-long battery life, sharp performance and a 360-degree hinge for the touchscreen. It won't burn your wallet, thereby making cons, like an iffy trackpad and barely-HD screen, a little easier to take. Read the full review: Acer Chromebook R11 Acer tends to run the show in our Chromebook roundups, and for good reason: it makes great Chromebooks. If you want the look and near-feel of a MacBook Air, but with the Chromebook price tag this is the model for you. The 14 looks and feels like Apple’s famous notebook on the outside, but of course can’t truly feel like using one with how little it costs. Read our full review: Acer Chromebook 14 Not long after killing off the Chromebook Pixel, Google has revived it in a way that no one was expecting leading into its reveal. Now, it’s called the Google Pixelbook, and it takes a sharp turn away from its predecessor. That’s mainly because we’re looking at a machine that can run Android apps natively in addition to bolstering Chrome OS. With ample storage space, nigh-perfect stylus integration and Google Assistant, the Pixelbook is the best Chromebook you can buy. That said, while Google Pixelbook deals will be hard to come by, it's one of the most-searched laptops right now, so it's worth calling out – not to mention being on the lookout for hot deals. In all honesty, you can afford to save your cash for an all-in laptop with more features - this isn't exactly the price tag for a quick Chromebook purchase after all. The cheapest Xbox One controller deals and prices in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:27 AM PST Cheap Xbox One controller prices aren't too easy to find. That's because retailers rarely lower the price of Xbox controller deals, leaving shoppers to pay full price most of the time. You can, however, find competitive prices online, and that's where we come in. We're here to help you find the best prices on Xbox One controllers. Here’s the thing: console deals are awesome, and often come loaded with huge savings, but unless you buy a bundle that specifically packs in a second controller, your Xbox One will only arrive alongside one. Why is that the case? The main reason is that it’s cheaper that way, yet it still makes it seem like the manufacturer is cutting you some kind of deal. But just because you’re getting shorted a controller doesn’t mean you should go without a second one - how else would you ever play a local multiplayer game without one? For that reason a second controller is a crucial pick-up. So let's see what Xbox One deals are out there. The cheapest Xbox One controller pricesXbox One controllers in all colors of the rainbow! While black and white are the most popular choices for extra gamepads, they're not the only options. In fact, if you really want to add a splash of color to your console, there are plenty of neat controller color schemes to do just that. We've listed them below for your perusing convenience. The cheapest Xbox Live Gold deals and 12 month membership prices for January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:26 AM PST Let us find you the cheapest Xbox Live Gold deals for 12-month memberships right here with our price comparison technology that searches through loads of retailers to bring you the best price whatever region you're in. After all we're confident we can beat those auto-renew Xbox Live Gold prices of $60 in the US, £50 in UK or $80 in Australia. We see prices cheaper than this throughout the year and we're in the best place to spot any discounts. The UK sub was priced at £40 for many years, but went up £10 in May 2019. So as you're probably all too aware, as with past consoles in the Xbox lineup, the Xbox One also requires an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play games online. It's not all bad though, as Microsoft took a note from Sony's similar PlayStation Plus offering and now gives out free games each month to members. You currently get two for the Xbox One and two Xbox 360 games to play on the old console or your Xbox One via its backwards-compatible feature. And seeing as Sony's service now only gives you two games a month, Microsoft's service is certainly looking like the better deal. If you're also tempted by the Xbox Game Pass library, you might want to check out the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. The subscription combines access to the entire Game Pass library with Xbox Live Gold, offering both services for one simple price. You can save big on both services using the deals we've found below! Microsoft's Xbox Live service is generally seen as the more stable and reliable network of the two - although Sony's PSN has been fine of late. You'll also get Xbox One Gold member-exclusive discounts in the many sales on the Xbox Live store. Use Xbox Live Gold to get the best Game Pass Ultimate dealAs of June 2019, there's an even better way to use your Xbox Live Gold membership - turning it into a Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Game Pass Ultimate combines the online play of Live Gold and the game streaming library of Game Pass to bring you the ultimate Xbox experience. Plus, Microsoft are offering an introductory $1/£1 price tag on players' first month with the subscription. This is where it gets interesting, though. Microsoft is also offering to convert any remaining Xbox Live Gold months you have left when you sign up into Game Pass Ultimate months. As long as you add the Live Gold months to your account before you sign up for Ultimate, you can stack gift card codes to save an amazing amount of cash on 30 months of game streaming - taking you up to the June 2022 limit. You're still spending money on the Live Gold subscription, but it's far cheaper Xbox's most expensive membership. You could spend the next three years playing every major game as soon as it's released to Xbox and saving money while you do it! Plus, Microsoft is fully supportive of the lifehack, so there's no need to worry about being told off! We generally find that CDKeys is one of the cheapest prices to buy a 12-month Xbox Live Gold deal, but technical gremlins sometimes mean the prices don't show up in our comparison chart below. Feel free to check the following CDKeys links though, just to make sure you're getting the best Xbox Live Gold deal. Prices are usually hovering around £34-£38 in the UK and $46-$50 in the USand $60-$65 in Australia. If you'd prefer to go down the official route, you can buy directly from Microsoft's website. There are discounts sometimes, but we generally find prices stick to the full RRP. If you'd like to take a look, that'd be $59.99 in the US or £39.99 in the UK or $79.95 in Australia. If you want to combine your Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, you can save with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. On top of your free monthly games courtesy of Live Gold, you'll also get access to the entire Xbox Game Pass library for one price. While you can only grab three month memberships at the moment, buying both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass separately through a rolling subscription with Microsoft will set you back $59.94/£44.94 for those three months. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will save you at least $15/£12, and that's before you've even taken a look at the great deals below. We'd recommend starting off with the $1/£1 introductory month available through your Xbox console, before cancelling your auto-renew and grabbing one of these amazing discounts. You can also get a shorter three-month Xbox Live Gold subscription. However, we don't think this represents as good value as the cost per month works out much higher. If you want to dip your toe into the world of online gaming though, this is a good place to start, and doesn't commit you to a full year. It's worth checking if you could get a free month-long trial directly from your Xbox menu first though. What are the free Xbox Games with Gold this month? We've got you covered. Each month we update the list of extensive freebies for the Xbox Live Games with Gold promotion. Why not bookmark the page below to make sure you never miss out? The best Samsung Galaxy Tab A prices and deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:19 AM PST The already low Samsung Galaxy Tab A prices make it a tempting purchase all year around. Good news, we sorted through all of the major online retailers (and even smaller ones) to determine where the biggest price drops have occurred. There's a lot to like about these deals simply because the Tab A is unlike other cheap tablets that flood search engines. Samsung's Galaxy Tab A range is one we can fully recommend as one of the finest budget tablets around as the performance and quality puts similar tablets to shame. Many other big name manufactures have seemingly abandoned tablets nowadays thanks to smartphones muscling in on their territory so it's great to see Samsung still proudly flying the Android tablet flag. We get it. Tablets aren't as popular as they once were, but we still enjoy the larger screens for casual web browsing, gaming or catching up on a bit of Netflix. That's not going to change. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablets sit nicely in the middle between the much more expensive iPad deals, or the cheap Amazon Fire tablet deals, with the latter not supporting apps from the Google Play Store. So let us show you the best prices for both the 7-inch and 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A deals. Seven inch tablets are the ideal size for most people, offering a screen bigger than smartphones (although some are getting close to this size now!) but still being comfortable to hold in one hand while reading or watching video. The nonslip backing ensures it won't be sliding out of your hand either. The Galaxy Tab A is also a great size tablet to take with you out of the house on your commute or on your hols. And with a battery that lasts up to 11 hours between charges, you'll be doing just that as much as you want and be able to leave the charger at home if you're only out for a day or two. If you fancy a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, check out the latest prices for the 10.1-inch version below. If you're planning on watching more video content, then this could be the one for you as the bigger screen is great for films and TV shows. It's not just a bigger tablet though, the screen resolution is improved over the smaller version and you're getting 2GB of RAM instead of 1.5GB which should make multi-tasking and overall performance a bit smoother for the more demanding apps and games out there. The cheapest Samsung tablet prices and sales in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:17 AM PST Android tablet enthusiasts around the world are keen to see the cheapest Samsung tablet prices and we're here to meet that need. The very best Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets can be surprisingly expensive. That's where we come in though, with our price comparison technology working hard to find you the best prices from the most reliable retailers. We'll find you the latest offers for all of the still-available Samsung Galaxy Tab S family and the cheaper Tab A series too. If you're after the latest Galaxy Tab S6 or S5e, you're in luck, as we've added the latest prices for Samsung's powerful slates to make sure you save as much money as possible. We'll walk you through various older models too so you can work out which one is best for you. If you're looking for a wider variety of manufacturers, make sure you check out our cheap tablets page. And if you're interested in the rival Apple tablets, be sure to take a peek at our roundup of the the best iPad deals. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 really wants to replace your other devices, be it your laptop, or maybe even your iPad Pro. It comes with a feature-rich S Pen stylus that recharges in a super convenient magnetic groove on the back of the tablet when not in use. Dex mode works beautifully as a Chromebook-like operating system, although to get the most out of it, you'll need to fork out even more money on the BookCover keyboard (now featuring a touch pad too). Considering the steep price of the Galaxy Tab S6, Samsung would have won us over much more if the keyboard came as standard. The battery should get you through a workday and we are impressed at how easily you can switch between work tasks or just kick back and enjoy the gorgeous screen and surprisingly loud speakers for media playback and web browsing too. If casual use is more your thing for a Samsung tablet, then we'd advise checking out the prices of the cheaper models below instead. The Galaxy Tab S5e isn't quite a full-on upgrade to the S4, instead, it has mix of improvements and minor cuts to bring the price down quite a lot. You're still getting the same gorgeous AMOLED screen and Dex connectivity as the more expensive S4. The Tab S5e is actually even thinner, lighter and includes a fingerprint scanner. The processor is a touch slower in the S5e, but not by a huge margin. You don't get a stylus here either as the S5e's screen isn't compatible with any type of pen and it also lacks a traditional 3.5mm headphone port. If the lack of pen support isn't going to be an issue for you though, we'd go for this model over the more expensive Tab S4. The latest version of the cheapest 10-inch Samsung Tablet is a sleeker affair than past iterations and the price is pleasantly low too. The RAM is a bit low, but if you're not going to push anything too demanding on the tablet that wont be a problem. If you just want a nice Full HD tablet to browse the web and watch film and TV content on then this is an excellent option and feels even better in the hand thanks to the new metal chassis that you'd expect to find on tablets costing far more than the asking price here. The Samsung Galaxy S4 deals are looking better than ever now that the new flagship S6 has launched. The Tab S4 is a step up from the older tablets as Samsung has attempted to bring an optional desktop experience to the operating system to make it compete with Microsoft's professional-facing Surface devices. Sadly, this also means you'll have to buy the keyboard and mouse separately if you want the full Dex experience. The S Pen Stylus is included at no extra charge though. Truth be told, if you're not too bothered about the new desktop-modes, you could save a lot of money by opting for the older, but still excellent, Tab S3 model. Read our full Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 review Samsung's 2017 still packs a mean punch and prices have dropped very nicely since then thanks to the newer models. With a glass back, it's clearly been taking style tips from the gorgeous Samsung Galaxy phone lineup and the new Super AMOLED screen supports HDR too - a tablet first at the time. While still not what you'd call a cheap tablet by any stretch of the imagination, you can often save a lot of money with the S3 compared to the best prices of the newer Tabs. So take a look at the specs list for the two, and is this will do the job just as well, why not save a bit of cash? Read our full review: Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 With a stunning AMOLED screen to match many of Samsung's phones smartphones, this 9.7-inch Android tablet is still one we really like. It's super thin - thinner even than the iPad Air 2 - and is also super lightweight but very powerful. The battery isn't the best if you're away from a powerpoint for the day though and the RAM is a little low compared to the newer versions, but if you're not going to be putting the Tab S2 through too many intensive apps, it should still be pretty slick. It's usually less than half the price of the newest Samsung tablet in the series though which is a huge selling point in of itself. Read our full review: Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Prices for the 8-inch and 9.7-inch S2 frequently cross paths, making if difficult to recommend one over the other. One the one hand getting a bigger screen for less money sounds like the better deal, but maybe you'd prefer the smaller screen if you're on the move more or you find large tablets a bit unwieldy. The battery on this version is smaller which is another element to consider. The screen resolution is the same, but the PPI (pixel per inch) density is greater on the smaller screen, so it looks just a tiny bit better. Read our full review: Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 7-inch tablets are the ideal size for most people, offering a screen bigger than smartphones (although some are getting close to this size now!) but still being comfortable to hold in one hand while reading or watching video. The nonslip backing ensures it won't be sliding out of your hand either. The 7-inch Galaxy Tab A is also a great size tablet to take with you out of the house on your commute or on your hols. And with a battery that lasts up to 11 hours between charges, you'll be doing just that as much as you want and be able to leave the charger at home if you're only out for a day or two. The cheapest Roku sale prices and deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:15 AM PST Roku sale prices are discounted regularly throughout the year as competition in the streaming stick world is seriously intense. Good thing you've landed here then as we're here to tell you which Roku devices are best for your needs and where to find the hottest deals on them too. Roku's Streaming sticks and boxes plug into your TV via an HDMI port, essentially turning any old HD/4K TV into a smart TV or boosting the number of apps on any modern smart TV that seems to be missing a few of your favorites. In a video streaming device world dominated by Amazon, Google and Apple, Roku is the plucky underdog that continues to hold its own. In addition to worldwide services like Netflix, Amazon and Spotify you'll find plenty of apps for your country. HBO Now, Hulu, Sling and CBS All Access in the US and BBC iPlayer, All 4 and Now TV in the UK for example. Frankly, Roku can't be beaten as far as the number and quality of streaming services it supports. And yes, there are options to view in 4K HDR too. There are a lot of Roku devices out there in the wild though and some of them have been discontinued as they've been made obsolete by newer releases. Some however, have an advantage or feature that new sticks don't cater for so we've kept price comparison charts around for those models. Generally though, we've cut down the list to include the most relevant Roku streaming devices that are readily available and represent great value of money for you. By comparison, you could check out our Chromecast deals or Amazon's Fire TV stick prices. Roku continues to give rival streaming devices something to worry about as the new Roku Streaming Stick Plus is super modern, super small and, most importantly, super cheap. Not to mention, unlike many of the older models it's been released in the UK too. Now Brits can finally join the 4K Roku party like the US has been enjoying for years! You're even getting HDR content from supported apps too. While Amazon's 4K Fire TV Sticks are similarly priced and have a more intuitive remote design, plus Alexa support, you might find the wider range of streaming services on the Roku more appealing. This is the cheapest streaming device in the Roku family. The Roku Express is newer and cheaper than the other standard Roku Streaming Stick and does all the same jobs. If you want to turn any HDMI TV into a Smart TV for as little as possible - this is for you. However, we'd be tempted to keep an eye out for a good deal on the 4K version mentioned earlier just to avoid having to buy one once 4K content becomes the norm. This Roku was not released in the UK. So don't expect many (if any) UK prices. The Roku Ultra is the most feature-packed of all the Roku media streamers. It has all the quality 4K and HDR streaming and ports of the Roku Premiere Plus. So what do you get for the extra cash? The remote control gets the most attention on the Ultra as it can be used for voice search, it has extra buttons to make it a handy game controller and there's even a little speaker to help you find it via a button on the console. There's also a USB storage slot and an optical out audio port. We're loving the option for private listening via the bundled-in JBL headphones headphones that you can plug into the remote too. If you're not bothered about the extra audio ports, expandable storage and using the Roku for gaming, then you should opt for one of the Roku deals we mentioned earlier and save a big chunk of cash. The best cheap PS Vita prices, sales and deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:14 AM PST So you're looking for a cheap PS Vita price? With Sony shutting down global production of the console in 2019, now is the time to get a PS Vita in a sale before it's too late. Many places are charging a small fortune or only selling preowned/refurbished models though, but we regularly sweep the net though to find the best prices around. Check out our comparison chart below to find the best price on a PS Vita. The PS Vita is a brilliant handheld gaming console, certainly the most powerful and graphically impressive handheld we'd seen before the Nintendo Switch bulldozed its way onto the scene. It can even be used to stream games from your PS4. Hardcore gamers with cash to spend should feel confident in snapping this monster up and fire up some of the big launch games with great haste. For anyone else, it's a case of working out if you think it's worth it. If you just want to play 99p puzzle games, by all means stick to your mobile phone or tablet – but they won't be able to do everything the Vita can. But if you've decided to buy one, you've come to the right place. We've got all of the cheapest PS Vita prices all in one place. If you're more interested in a full-sized console, check out our cheap PS4 deals. The cheapest PS Vita prices1. Sony PS Vita Slim (2014) pricesThe most recent PS Vita model is slimmer and has better battery life The latest model of the PS Vita is 2014's 'Slim'. Sony made some subtle changes with this model, both internally and externally, but they're mostly welcome improvements. The design tweaks make for a more portable, comfortable system, although it does come at the expense of the OLED screen which has now been replaced with an LCD. The console is around 20% slimmer (about 3mm) than the original, bringing it down to 15mm. It's also 42g lighter, which is the most immediately noticeable thing when you pick the Vita Slim up. 2. Sony PS Vita (original) pricesThe original PS Vita has a better (OLED) screen There are a few reasons why you might opt for the 2012 original PS Vita over the 2014 redesign. Firstly, if you can find a great deal there's absolutely no reason not to pick one up. It's every bit as powerful and plays all the same games. Plus, this version has a much-vaunted OLED screen which is better than the LCD unit in the 2014 model. Admittedly this older model doesn't have the same impressive battery life, but it all comes down to price. If the current deals are just as good on the 2014 model we'd recommend you go for that one. If you can see a super cheap original model, go for it! This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
The cheapest PlayStation Plus prices for memberships in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:13 AM PST So you're looking for a little help to find a cheap PlayStation Plus price? We can certainly help you out there as there's nothing worse for our deal hunters than hearing about people paying full price for things. Speaking of full-price, the regular price for an annual PS Plus membership in most stores or online through the PlayStation store is $60/£50, so that's the price you want to beat when looking at the latest deals on PlayStation Plus memberships. If £50 sounds more expensive than you remember in the UK it's because Sony put the price up by £10 in August 2017. Not to worry though, we've found prices closer to the old £40 for you in our PlayStation Plus deals price comparison chart below. You'll need a PlayStation Plus membership to play PS4 games online. On the "plus" side (that's right, I went there), membership also gives you access to the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection which includes free games each month that are yours to keep while you're a subscriber. The offer format changed recently to no longer include PS3 or PS Vita titles, so you'll only be getting current-day PS4 titles from now on. Don't worry, you'll still be able to re-download any PS3/Vita/PS4 titles you've added via PS Plus over the years even if your memberships lapses and then you sign up again. PlayStation Plus memberships also get you exclusive discounts in sales across PlayStation Network and lets you upload game saves to the cloud, which is brilliant for backing up your progress in case your console's hard drive fails. All in all, it's a great value for your money each year. That said, make sure you turn off those pesky auto-renew settings on your console to avoid paying full price, as we've found some tasty discounts for you with these cheap PlayStation Plus prices. Xbox fans, we've got you covered too with the cheapest Xbox Live Gold deals around. Are PlayStation Plus memberships worth getting? If you play games online then PlayStation Plus memberships are absolutely worth purchasing, if not essential to your PlayStation experience. PS Plus does have benefits for those who never play online, however. A constantly updating roster of new titles to download and play for free will save you far more than the membership costs each month, so you're never left wanting if you're open to new experiences and looking for something new to twiddle your thumbs to. On top of that, cloud storage and backups can really come in handy, especially since PS4 systems are ageing quickly now and are more prone to unfortunate crashes. The cheapest PlayStation Plus pricesCDKeys Update: We generally find that CDKeys is one of the cheapest prices to buy a 12-month PlayStation Plus deal, but technical gremlins sometimes mean the deals don't show up in our comparison chart below. Feel free to check the following CDKeys links though, just to make sure you're getting the best PS Plus deal. Prices are usually hovering around £38-£42 in the UK and $50-$58 in the US. The rumors are true. There's also a three-month subscription available, but the value isn't as strong and you're technically paying more per month compared to the 12-month PlayStation Plus memberships deals. Take a look. What are the free PS Plus games this month? We've got you covered there. Each month we update the list of extensive freebies for the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection. These games are free to download and play the entire time you are still within your PlayStation Plus membership. Why not bookmark the page below to make sure you never miss out? The cheapest Oculus Rift prices and Oculus Quest sales in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:12 AM PST So you're here for the best and cheapest Oculus Rift prices, but did you know there's a new Oculus in town in the form of the portable and almost-equally as powerful Oculus Quest? The 2019 device has solved the problem facing many VR hopefuls since Rift's release in 2016; the expense of a gaming PC rig to support it. While the Oculus Rift is still the most highly powered device on the market, you can get a portable, wireless model for the same price in the form of the Quest. The flagship Oculus Rift headset has since been refreshed for 2019 and renamed the Oculus Rift S. It's backed by world-class technology, has a growing library of games and apps, and now you can get it at its cheapest price ever. That's because the Oculus Rift price was permanently reduced a while back making it much more affordable. You're saving a few hundred notes now, which we always love. If you're looking for an even cheaper solution, the Oculus Go offers some of the best prices on a VR headset around. While you won't have access to the more flagship gaming titles, and the specs on offer here are far more modest than those of the beefier machines, the Go is perfect if you want to dip your toe in virtual waters for a low price. Oculus Rift pricesWhen searching for an Oculus Rift sale price, you should always make sure that you're looking at the latest Rift S version. The new Oculus Rift S was released in March 2019 and replaces the original 2016 Rift on store shelves. It offers a lighter, more comfortable overall experience with better audio solutions and an improved display to reduce screen-door effect. Make sure you're purchasing the latest model by looking out for that S at the end of the name, you may even see a price increase when trying to buy the original Rift device, though few still remain out in the wild. The Oculus Rift S is the standard PC-powered virtual reality headset we've all come to recognize. It remains a wired device, which may impede your free movement if it weren't for the extra cable length offered straight out the box. With improved tracking courtesy of new external cameras on the headset itself, you won't find yourself stumbling over the lamp of stubbing your toe as much either. The Rift S is now easy to set up and use, with the removal of tricky tracking procedures and finnicky sensor positioning entirely. Plus, with a whole roster of flagship VR titles available through the Oculus Store you'll never run out of virtual worlds to explore. To run the Oculus Rift S on full spec you might need a dedicated gaming PC, so make sure yours matches up by checking out the minimum and required specs as suggested by Oculus. Looking to upgrade your PC gaming setup further? Check out our latest SSD deals to give your PC a speed boost before you hook it up to a Rift. Or, if you're looking to switch to a flashier CPU, be sure to keep an eye on the best processor sales we've come across this month. Oculus Quest pricesThe Oculus Quest price often matches that of the Rift S and yet the latest Oculus headset offers an almost parallel experience to the flagship device with added portability and boundary tracking features. If you want a high-quality VR experience without spending big on a PC to support it, the Quest is for you. There's a lot of back and forth surrounding which headset comes across better on paper. While the Quest's 2560x1440 resolution outperforms that of the Rift S, its lower refresh rate may let more attentive eyes down. The Rift may well outshine the Quest if it's hooked up to a top of the range gaming PC, but if you don't have one of those at your disposal Oculus Quest does a pretty good job of making you think you do. Oculus Quest opens up a world of virtual reality wherever you find yourself. The all-in-one unit takes the portability benefits of the Go and the game library and tracking capabilities of the Rift S and serves it up in one OLED display and Snapdragon 835 processor. Make sure you bring a charger with you, however - the two-hour battery life of the Quest reflects the power it's capable of during play sessions. If you're looking to use your Oculus Quest with SteamVR compatible games, there are streaming workarounds but they aren't officially supported. As it stands, Oculus Quest will not work natively with your Steam library in the same way Oculus Rift S will. Oculus Go pricesIf the Oculus Quest looks a little pricey and you're not ready to invest in an upgraded rig for the Rift, there is a cheaper way to enjoy Oculus VR and that's by taking a look at our Oculus Go sale prices. The Oculus Go is a standalone VR experience that does not require any extra equipment like a powerful PC, gaming laptop or modern smartphone. It has everything it needs built into the headset. You also get a hand-controller which makes interacting with menus and playing games much easier than trying to select things with your face. The visual quality isn't quite up there with the full-sized versions and you can't lean in to make things appear closer, but the other degrees of head movement are covered in a huge range of apps and games available from the Oculus store. It should be noted that the Oculus Go device runs from a different store to the Oculus Rift and Quest headsets. Many of VR's favourite titles aren't available for the Go, due to its technical limitations. That said, there's still a wealth of intriguing titles available for the Oculus Go - just be sure you're looking at the right storefront. So if you're after a fun VR experience beyond those dodgy headsets you slot your phone into, then we'd seriously advise you check out the latest Oculus go prices below. Oculus Touch controller dealsOculus Touch is a pair of motion controllers with buttons that provide a more intuitive way of interacting with select Oculus Rift S games. The controllers come bundled in with most Oculus Rift deals, and certainly those sold by official retailers. The controllers, which let you interact with VR games and apps by moving your arms around and pressing buttons, originally cost a rather steep £190/$199 for the pair, essentially bringing the overall cost much closer to the HTC Vive VR setup. On the plus side, the controllers have been reduced to a much more attractive £99/$99, making them an essential purchase if you bought the headset before it was bundled with the controllers. How much does the Oculus Rift cost?In the UK, the original recommended price was £549 and $599 in the US. Thankfully, it's recently been reduced and you can now pick one up for £399/$399. Feel free to bookmark this page though to keep an eye on the best Oculus Rift prices as they are updated daily to reflect the best online Oculus Rift deals out there. Will my PC run Oculus Rift S?That's a good question, and certainly one to ask before splurging out on the Rift S virtual reality lid for your rig. Handily, Oculus provides minimum and recommended specs so you can check if your setup can handle it. If not, it might be time to upgrade or simply invest in an Oculus Quest headset. If you're starting out from scratch and want to build your own Oculus Rift S ready rig, check out TechRadar's article below. Can I use the Oculus Rift S on the PS4 or Xbox One?Not on either so far. Sony has its own headset with PlayStation VR for the PS4, so we're not expecting Oculus Rift S compatibility any time soon. As for Oculus Rift S on the Xbox One, it's also a no, but with a potential 'maybe' further down the line. Oculus teamed up with Microsoft to include a PC/Oculus-compatible Xbox One controller with the retail release of the headset, so there's already a relationship to potentially build on. Microsoft's HoloLens VR/augmented reality headset has been very quiet of late and hasn't really been pushed as an Xbox One headset, leaving plenty of room for speculation that the Oculus Rift S will make it's way to the Xbox One. Can I use Oculus Rift S on my phone?Get out. Oh, you must be confusing the Oculus with the Samsung Gear VR. Samsung's headset is far cheaper and is made for mobile apps, rather than full-fat PC experiences. Well worth a look though if you have a compatible Android mobile phone. As things stand, your phone would probably melt faster than the sets-on-fire-for-fun Galaxy Note 7 if you tried convincing it to even look at an Oculus Rift. The prices below are for your first year for one user to use on one PC, along with a tablet or mobile too. The advantages of using Office 365 include having access to all the latest versions of programs in the Microsoft Office suite and having 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage. The latter is particularly useful for editing documents on the go. So you could go from writing on the laptop/desktop to making a few changes or crucial last minute updates on your mobile or tablet. If the online cloud storage and device switching won't be useful, we'd recommend scrolling further down this page and consider buying Microsoft Office 2019 or 2016 instead for a one-off fee. But if you want a modern version of Office with just a simple one-time fee, this is the way to go. You don't get the fancier cloud-based features and multi-device support that you do with Office 365, but this can work out much cheaper in the long run. Buy Microsoft Office 2016 for the best priceIf you want to get one of the best Office suites out there for the lowest price, we'd suggest you buy Microsoft Office 2016, also known as just Office 2016. While it does cost more than a year of Office 365, Office 2016 may work out cheaper for you in the long run. The cheapest version is usually the 'Home & Student' Edition which comes with a lifetime license for one user. And no, you don't have to be a student to buy and use this version which comes with the essential Office suite items like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. The best cheap MacBook Pro deals, prices and sales in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:09 AM PST The cheapest MacBook Pro deals can be tough to track down on Apple's most premium line of laptops, with MacBook Pro prices rarely seeing significant discounts from Apple themselves. That said, with MacBook Pro prices starting so high, retailers are left with plenty of scope for discounting in sales throughout the year. So check out our guide below where we've listed the cheapest MacBook Pro deals for all the latest models, along with our picks of older Apple laptops still worth checking out. The MacBook Pro has become the go to laptop range for professionals and enthusiasts alike, absolutely powering through tasks regular laptops fear. Apple's staggering lineup of Retina screens lead the way for crisp visuals and an increasingly excellent physical design of the laptops themselves. The latest 2019 Macbook Pro price is in keeping with its sheer power. This really is a beast of a laptop and if you want to pump it full of extra high specs you can easily start running up a hefty tab. The base model will still plough through anything you can challenge it with, however, with impressive specs to play with at the price point. You want the best there is, but there's no reason to pay more than you should for it. If you want to save some money you could check out the other non-Pro MacBook deals or maybe even a standard cheap laptop deal. If you've got an older MacBook Pro and want to sell it on, first visit our tutorial on how to reset a MacBook Pro. Is the Macbook Pro price worth it?The Macbook Pro is made for its power users. With a price point that can make everyday laptop users wary, Apple's range of lightweight super computers can seem inaccessible. If you're looking for a laptop that can handle anything, though, and will be able to handle anything for a long time into the future, then this is the laptop for you. While the Macbook Pro might have a heady overhead cost, it's an investment that will last you longer than other only slightly cheaper laptops will. So, if you're a creative or looking to power through high performance apps and complex workflows the Macbook Pro price is absolutely worth it. If you want to check your emails and watch Netflix, you might be better off elsewhere. If you were somehow left wanting power with the older MacBook Pro, then the 2019 edition should answer your prayers for technical domination of anything you can throw at it. If you've got the cash, the new 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro 2019 can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM with a 8-core 9th-gen i9 processor. Even the entry model on the Apple store comes packing a 6-core i7, 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. As you'd expect with such great power comes great responsibility for Apple to charge you huge amounts. But this is the most powerful MacBook Pro ever made and if you're involved in the creative arts, digital design or engineering, then you might find Apple's latest is more than up to the task of the increasingly demanding apps and programs. Still not sure? Well all the rumors point towards a bigger 16-inch MacBook Pro coming later this year, which may feature additional new features. The 2018 version of the 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro is the best yet, comes with the Touch Bar as standard and features a range of improvements over the older models. The screen resolution may be the same with the excellent Retina display, but now there's True Tone technology inside that senses ambient lighting in the room or outdoors to adjust the brightness of the screen for the best possible picture. The keyboard is quieter and less 'clicky' too. You're getting the brand new 8th-gen Coffee Lake core processor and the quad-core CPUs have doubled the performance of the 2017 models. With more options for larger RAM too, options really open up for creatives and professionals with the MacBook Pro 2018. If you're looking for lower MacBook Pro price but a higher performance than most 2018 laptops, this model may be for you. The larger 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro price reflects the boost you get in performance by choosing the bigger model. This model offers a larger screen but packs a lot more under the hood too, with Apple providing multiple options with increased RAM, extra processing power with a six core Coffee Lake processor and larger SSD storage options. Naturally, you're getting the same improvements over the 2017 version too like the True Tone screen technology and quieter keyboard. This really is a powerhouse laptop for designers and industry creatives. If you don't need all that power though, we'd consider the cheaper 13-inch 2018 model, or maybe even the older but nicely cheap Macbook Pro 13-inch version found below if the prices are right for you. Stock of the 2017 versions with a Touch Bar seemed to dry up pretty fast and most remaining stock actually costs more than the new 2018 upgrades, so we can't really recommend them. This version doesn't come with the Touch Bar though, which helps keeps the cost down as it turned out to be an expensive extra feature. And unlike versions that featured the illuminated touch-keyboard element, 2017 MacBook Pro prices have dropped nicely, meaning you can save some serious cash and still get a powerful laptop. The screen and overall shape of this cheap MacBook Pro didn't change on the previous year's iteration, but this MacBook Pro was bolstered by the Kaby Lake 7th-gen processor's speed boost. Throw in a gorgeous Retina display and a minimum of 8GB of RAM and you're looking a multitasking device suitable for everything from day-to-day activities, intensive media editing and creative design work.

The best cheap MacBook sale prices and deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:07 AM PST Finding cheap MacBook prices can be a tough task, but we've searched through the sales to dig out the best deals on every model. That's right, we've tracked down the latest offers for every type of Apple laptop out there. We've got you covered for the standard 12-inch MacBooks, the 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pros and if you want something that sits between the two, then you'll want to take a look at our MacBook Air section. We've pulled the best cheap Macbook prices from the latest sales on a wide range of Apple's lineup via our price comparison technology which searches through the best retailers every day. All the newest MacBook models are covered of course, but we've also compared prices on some of the older MacBooks still readily available as you can save a lot of money by skipping back to an older model while still getting an excellent piece of tech. All you need to do now is work out whether it’s a MacBook, a MacBook Pro or a MacBook Air that you want. We'll help though by telling you about each one of them. If you're not quite set on a MacBook (they are rather pricey), then we have some alternative guides for you. Take a look at our selection of best laptops for other top performing machines or our cheap laptop deals for solid buys that won't break the bank as we search for great offers all year round. If the freshest MacBook prices are what you're after though, you'll find them all below.
The MacBook Air 2019 is only marginally different from the 2018 version which it looks set to replace. And, sales aside, the 2019 MacBook prices are already a little cheaper at some stores, so it's generally worth trying to pick up this version instead. The 2019 MacBook Air's main selling points over the 2018 model is the addition of the MacBook Pro's True Tone screen that automatically adjusts color temperatures on the screen depending on the ambient light of the room you're working in. A new third-generation Butterfly keyboard is less likely to see keys sticking or becoming unresponsive too, which has been an issue dogging multiple MacBooks in recent years. The MacBook Air 2018 includes the excellent Retina screen display from the far more expensive MacBook Pro models, and the bezels are 50% thinner than the previous generation of MacBook Air. The keyboard is four times as stable as before and the Force Touch trackpad is 20% bigger too, which is great for multi-touch interactions. Audio hasn't been overlooked, as the speakers are now 25% louder and a new mic array means asking Siri for assistance is easier. Touch ID has finally come to the Air series too meaning you can log in or verify purchases via a simple touch. You also get two Thunderbolt ports, but legacy options have been removed, so you may want to consider our guides for the best USB-C adapters or the best USB-C hubs. Inside the gorgeous chassis, you get an upgraded 8th-gen dual-core processor, Intel UHD graphics and the SSDs now run 60% faster and support larger sizes than the 2017 line. We didn't expect the new MacBook Air's form factor to improve given it was already pleasingly discrete but it's now 10% smaller and a quarter of a pound lighter. The 2018 MacBook Air prices start higher than ones for the 2017 edition did, but we'll compare the latest deals for you below thanks to our engaged price comparison technology. Prices for the new MacBook Air 2018 start at $1199 / £1199 / AU$1849 for the entry level versions. So anything under that is a bonus for the newest member of the cheap MacBook Air family. We have to admit, we thought Apple was done with the MacBook Air line after the Pro lineup became just as compact and almost as light. In 2017, Apple gave the 13-inch MacBook Air its first update since 2015. This meant you could get a much healthier 8GB of RAM instead of 4GB along with a processor upgrade to 1.8GHz (over 1.6GHz) making it much better at multi-tasking. Stock of this older MacBook Air will gradually run out at retailers as the newer model above phases it out, and MacBook prices could fluctuate due to its age. But while new stock is still available, this is your best bet for a cheap MacBook Air. Apple didn't release a standard MacBook in 2018 or 2019, instead focusing on the Air and Pro lines, so this is the newest regular MacBook you can buy. The screen and compact dimensions on the 2017 MacBook are the same as the 2016 edition. The main improvement with the latest version is the inclusion of the 7th-gen Kaby Lake processors in either m3, i5 or i7 configurations. 2015 MacBook owners are the most likely to notice and appreciate the improvements, but if you're still looking for a cheap MacBook and the Air model doesn't provide the power you need, these MacBook prices could be for you. The internal specifications on the 2016 12-inch MacBook might be lagging behind the most recent version nowadays, but if you're not planning on pushing the device too hard with demanding tasks then it could be a great money-saving option for you. While some of the cheapest prices might be reserved for refurbs, the 2016 MacBook is still a fantastic device and it's one of the most portable options in Apple's laptop lineup. The newest 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro 2019 is strictly-speaking just the 2018 model stuffed with even more powerful spec. Depending on how much cash you're willing to splash, you can get up to 32GB of RAM with 9th-gen i7 6-core or i9 8-core processor options available too. So yes, this is easily the most powerful MacBook Pro Apple has ever released, but unless you've got some seriously demanding professional-level kit that requires that much grunt, you're probably better off checking out some of the older, cheaper MacBook Pros models below instead and saving yourself some serious cash. There are also rumours of a 16-inch MacBook Pro coming soon, so you might want to hedge your bets until then. The 2018 version of the 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro is the best yet, comes with the Touch Bar as standard on most models and features a range of improvements. If you're looking for the best MacBook Pro prices for the highest performance, the 13-inch 2018 model may be for you. The larger 15-inch version of the 2018 MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar is generally going to cost a fair bit more than the 13-inch model, but that's not just because of the larger screen. Apple have also pumped an impressive range of specs inside this bigger model. Increased RAM supports the extra processing power (a six core Coffee Lake processor), and larger SSD storage opens your MacBook Pro to even greater multitasking and more complex workflows. The True Tone screen technology and quieter keyboard are also added improvements over the 2017 model. This really is a powerhouse laptop for designers and industry creatives. If you don't need all that gear though, we'd consider the cheap MacBook Pro 13-inch model. Or, you could always opt for an older MacBook Pro - prices are likely to be much better. The older 13-inch MacBook Pros are amongst the cheaper options if you want to go Pro. These versions don't come with a Touch Bar which is something to factor in when comparing how much you'll save versus the added functionality the new tech could add to your work and computing life in general. These are incredibly light for MacBook Pros, but they still pack an incredible punch with 2.3GHz and dual core processors ranging from i5 to i7. The trackpads are larger than older MacBook Pros too and you're getting fantastic Retina displays which still look stunning today. This is a cheap MacBook Pro price that reflects the age of the laptop but also maintains that Apple power to keep your older model running well. The best cheap Amazon Kindle sale prices and deals in January 2020 Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:06 AM PST A cheap Kindle sale is never hard to find, as Amazon is keen to keep its dominance of the ereader market. Kindle prices for most of the devices are already great value given the high quality you get in your hands. We've rounded up all the cheapest Kindle deals as various retailers compete to try to offer you the best bargains. We've covered every readily-available model including the basic Kindles, the excellent all-rounder Paperwhites and the super fancy Kindle Oasis luxury ereaders. If you're interested in more than just reading ebooks, the Fire tablet range is covered in our full roundup of the best Amazon Fire Tablet deals too - they're a much cheaper alternative to those pricey iPad deals. Naturally, we'll explain the differences between the various Kindle devices too so you can make the most informed decision about which one suits you best. We've provided a quick overview of the latest Kindle deals below, keep scrolling though and you'll see an extensive list of Kindle prices for each model. What makes a good Kindle price? These ereaders don't have LCD screens or powerful internal components. So you'll find Kindle sale prices are far cheaper than tablets and phones. The screens are fantastic for glare-free reading and an immediate improvement over using the Kindle app on your phone or tablet too. If you can find the Kindle Paperwhite for under US$129/£120/AU$199 you're getting a good price. The new entry-level Kindle 2019 model will surely see some discounts soon on its $89.99/£69/AU$139 price. The top of the line Kindle Oasis model prices start at $269/£229/AU$389 and rarely drop lower. What do 'Special Offers' mean on the Kindle listings? When looking at a Kindle ereader listing, whether it's on Amazon's website, or a different retailer, you'll often see 'includes special offers' in the title or item description. Choose 'without special offers' and the price will jump up £10/US$20. Essentially, these Special Offers act as Amazon-based screensaver-style advertisements on your Kindle device. So when you pop your Kindle on from sleep mode you'll see an ad for a book on Amazon's Kindle store, or maybe a third party ad. Annoying right? Actually, I opted for the Special Offers (I do love a cheap deal), and it's not bothered me one bit. You can swipe the ad away easily (no trying to find the tiny X icon here) and get on with your reading straight away. When in sleep mode, the ads cycle on the screen, but they're not illuminated and they don't seem to consume any power. They don't slow anything down when powering on the device after shutdown either. The ads are replaced with generic artwork if you have them removed. Seeing as these ads don't interfere with the experience at all, I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money to block them. Hey, some of the sales have been worth clicking through to. If you really don't like them though, you can always pay the difference at a later date to get them removed. So we'd opt for the cheaper 'includes special offers' option first. Here are the best cheap Kindle prices currently available... Amazon's latest take on the entry-level Kindle was given a boost for 2019 by including a built-in light, meaning you don't have to get the Kindle Paperwhite if you want to read your Kindle at night without any extra lighting in the room. It's a neat upgrade, but it has pushed the starting price up a little compared to the 2016 starting Kindle. The Amazon Kindle with a built-in light starts at $89.99 / £69.99 / AU$139. The screen itself though is still only 167 ppi, opposed to the Paperwhite's higher resolution of 300 ppi. The Paperwhite (which is now waterproof and designed with a flush screen against the bezel) does get some chunky discounts at multiple points of the year, so if you time it right, you may not have to pay much more to get that instead of this basic (if improved) Kindle. For the full rundown, check out our latest Kindle review. Amazon updated the excellent Kindle Paperwhite in 2018. This was no mere by-the-numbers update with a deep dive on the internal spec sheet required to spot the differences either (let's leave that to the MacBooks right?). The newest Paperwhite is so good you might be tempted to ditch the previous version, which we still love very much. The backlit screen is now flush with the bezel, meaning no more places for dust or hair to get stuck. And part of the reasoning behind this upgrade is to ensure the Kindle Paperwhite is now a waterproof ereader, just like the far more expensive (but absolutely beautiful) Kindle Oasis. The cheapest model now has double the storage capacity at 8GB which is handy if you're reading image-heavy books like graphic novels/comics. And it's 20 grams lighter. That extra space is also handy for audiobooks, a new addition to the Paperwhite that you can take advantage of via bluetooth speakers/headphones. The latest Kindle Paperwhite prices start at $129.99/£119.99/AU$199 but we see significant discounts at multiple times of the year, so it's always worth hanging on for a better deal. The Kindle Kids Edition takes the 2019 entry-level Kindle (mentioned earlier) and adds a bunch of assuring child-friendly features. It comes with a cover as standard along with a nice 2-year warranty that covers any form of breakage (excellent for clumsy kids). The Kindle Kids Edition isn't waterproof like the Paperwhite, but the extended warranty has you covered there. The built-in dictionary (just hold your finger on a word) is a fantastic learning resource and there's a vocabulary builder option too. A partner app allows parents to track how much time their children have been reading along with what they're reading. There are no games or web browsers included on this Kindle, so you never have to worry about them straying from their book. You also get a year of free access to over 1000 child-friendly titles and other ebooks can be added from the Kindle store. With double the storage of the cheapest Kindle at 8GB, you'll have plenty of space for them too. Some parents may want to consider the cheaper standard Kindle instead if their child is arguably getting a little old for the safety features (they might keep the same ereader for years remember) or if the restrictions seem a bit much for ebook content. On the plus side, you can unlock the extra features, making it a standard Kindle if you decide to do so via a PIN code. The Kindle Kids Edition is priced at $109 in the US and £99 in the UK. Amazon has just updated the previous-gen Kindle Oasis to an all-new version. The Kindle Oasis (2019) prices start at $249.99/£229.99/AU$399. It isn't all that different from the 2017 model in all honesty but that one is being phased out of stores now. The main new feature is an amber-shade option for the screen background. This 'warm' light has a much more natural feel, like an old paperback. It looks rather lovely and is less of a strain on your eyes, especially if you're reading at night and wanting to wind down. Otherwise, this is the same beautifully-designed waterproof luxury e-reader as last time out. Those page turns buttons are a neat feature though as they keep the screen clean and work much more accurately than the sometimes errant screen taps/swipes. There's no getting around the initial asking price is seriously high though, meaning the Paperwhite is still much easier to recommend. The second iteration of the Kindle Oasis costs US$249/£229/AU$389 for the cheapest Wi-Fi version. This is an upgrade over the older Oasis (which is no longer available) and a huge improvement. It's 15% cheaper, bigger and was also the first waterproof kindle (but the Paperwhite now has that feature too). The Kindle Oasis was also the first kindle to support Aubidle audio books, although you'll need a pair of bluetooth wireless headphones to use this feature as there's no built-in speaker or 3.5mm headphone port. The Kindle Oasis ereader's 7-inch screen makes it the largest of the Kindle brands and tempting for readers wanting to view a larger page, meaning you won't have to turn pages as often. The page turn buttons are given a wider bezel on the side than the now-discontinued Kindle Voyage, making it easier to hold one-handed - the screen will flip over to accommodate left-handed readers too. The considerably cheaper Paperwhite models are excellent alternatives and feature the same screen resolution. That larger screen and waterproofing for peace of mind are pretty tempting though. On the plus side, prices should start to drop now that there's a newer model available (see above). We check our Kindle deals every day to make sure they're always up to date and available!
