Apple : An unhackable, quantum resistant email technology is on its way

An unhackable, quantum resistant email technology is on its way

Posted: 18 May 2020 03:03 PM PDT

The secure email provider Tutanota has revealed that it is working together with the L3S Research Institute of Leibniz University of Hanover on a new research project called PQmail which aims to to implement quantum computer resistant cryptography in a freely available email application.

The reason for this is that once quantum computers become widely available, all currently encrypted emails can be decrypted using the technology. Cybercriminals are currently storing encrypted information in order to decrypt it once large quantum computers become available.

Developer and co-founder of Tutanota, Matthias Pfau explained why implementing quantum-safe encryption is essential to keeping email secure in the future, saying:

“So far, there are very few applications that use quantum-safe encryption and no implementation for emails yet. Since emails in particular are so important for professional, confidential communication, it is crucial that we find a secure solution here as quickly as possible. More and more business emails are encrypted end-to-end. This confidential communication must remain confidential in the future."

PQmail project

The PQmail project is supported by EU funding and Professor Sascha Fahl and his team at USEC along with Tutanota plan to integrate quantum secure encryption into the company's email client in order to get a usable prototype of quantum secure email ready for the public.

Once completed, emails can be encrypted in such a way that they cannot be decrypted by quantum computers in the future. This is important because it means that confidential communication over email will not be able to be read by third parties in the future.

The PQmail project plans to evaluate various post-quantum algorithms that are currently being tested for standardization by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). It will then design a hybrid communication protocol that supports the Perfect Forward Secrecy which can be integrated into Tutanota. Security reviews of the hybrid communication protocol will then take place before quantum computer resistant encryption is added to Tutanota.

As soon as quantum secure encryption is implemented in Tutanota, businesses and consumers alike will be able to use it for free for additional email security.

At least, that's the case if you're from North America, as you can download a VPN if abroad to access the same streaming coverage you normally would (and almost certainly pay for) back home.

Many employees say they are happier working from home

Posted: 18 May 2020 01:14 PM PDT

Working from home during the pandemic has led to increased happiness among employees according to a new survey from CNBC and SurveyMonkey.

To conduct their new survey titled “CNBC|SurveyMonkey Workforce Happiness Index: May 2020”, the two companies polled over 9,000 workers in the US at the beginning of May to measure the impact Covid-19 has had on their job satisfaction.

According to the survey, nearly half (48%) of respondents are now during their jobs remotely. Among employees working from home and even those who are not, there was an uptick in employee happiness and the survey's Workforce Happiness Index was up by two points to 73 out of 100 when compared to 71 points during the same period last year.

At the same time though, CNBC and SurveyMonkey's survey also found that 54 percent of all respondents say it has gotten “somewhat harder” or “much harder” to do their jobs now than before the pandemic began. Additionally, workers in positions of greater responsibility (VP and higher) are more likely to say their work has gotten “much harder” when trying to work from home.

Job satisfaction

Of the survey participants who are currently working remotely, 44 percent said they are happier to have their job now than they were before the outbreak began. Remote work could be here to stay as 38 percent of workers say they would like to work from home more often than they did before once the pandemic has subsided. Additionally, 19 percent want to continue working from all the time.

Even non-remote workers are happier with 32 percent saying they are happier to have their job now than they were before the outbreak. Safety is quite important to those still leaving their homes to go to work and 75 percent of respondents said the have felt safe going to work during the pandemic while 80 percent are satisfied with the measures put in place by their organizations to keep them safe at work.

Chief research officer at SurveyMonkey, John Cohen provided further insight on the survey's findings in a press release, saying:

“Job satisfaction is up but there is also widespread anxiety among those with jobs today. Fully 44 percent of workers report being worried that they’ll lose a job or have their hours cut in the weeks ahead, with concern spiking to about six in 10 among Hispanic and Asian workers.”

Why DJI probably won't get a US drone ban after patent ruling setback

Posted: 18 May 2020 01:10 PM PDT

DJI might be comfortably the biggest name in drones, but it's just had its propellors clipped by a patent trial ruling that could see some of its popular models barred from being sold or imported into the US. Still, we've been here before with smartphones, and there's good reason to believe it won't come to that.

The ruling centers around a claim from Autel Robotics, a US-based drone maker that's owned by Chinese company Autel Intelligent Technology, which says that DJI drones infringe on one its patents about how a drone's propellors fix to its legs.

That might not sound a big deal, but the bombshell for DJI is that the Chief Administrative Law Judge of the US International Trade Commission (ITC) has found in favor of Autel.

Indeed, the judge has recommended that the infringing drones – which include the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom – are banned from being imported into the US, with Autel Robotics' law firm Steptoe claiming that "these products could be taken off the US market as early as July".

It's certainly a blow for DJI and anyone who's been eyeing up one of its drones. But this is far from the end of what has been a long-running battle between the two big Chinese companies.

For a start, the decision needs to be upheld by ITC's full commission, and there's lots of precedent for decisions being overturned there. For example, in 2013 the ITC's full commission reversed a decision by the Administrative Law Judge that said Apple's iPhone and iPads had infringed on a Motorola patent about wireless tech.

And while DJI declined to comment on the ruling, a source close to the company did tell us that the legal proceedings are still ongoing – which suggests this patent war, like so many that have rumbled on for years in the smartphone world, is far from over yet.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro

Returning to home?

Another factor is that, despite Autel Robotics being based in the US, this is a battle between two Chinese companies, which makes it quite different from the US-China tensions that resulted in the Huawei ban of 2019.

Not that DJI hasn't had its own brushes with the US government recently. In January 2020 it released a statement saying it was "extremely disappointed" by a US Department of the Interior (DOI) order that grounded the department's entire DJI drone fleet for national security reasons.

But this tussle with Autel actually goes all the way to 2016, when DJI sued its rival for copying its Phantom drone. And there were even reports of a patriotic backlash against Autel on Chinese social media in 2018, when it became clear that this recent patent lawsuit was between two companies that both started in Shenzhen.

This all means we could ultimately see the two companies settle in some way, perhaps outside the courts or through a licensing agreement, rather than a US ban on DJI's drones actually coming to fruition.

After all, we've seen many twists turns in the tech-themed patent wars of the past, from 2015's classic Apple vs Samsung to Motorola vs Apple in 2012. And while the winner is rarely us, the tech fans, long-running lawsuits involving companies the size of DJI rarely end in a result that's as emphatic as the one being proposed here.

While it's impossible to predict what's going to happen from here, we think it's a bit too early to predict that DJI's US drones will be hitting the "Return-to-home" button just yet.

The big PS5 console and gameplay reveal we've been waiting for could be June 4

Posted: 18 May 2020 01:04 PM PDT

Our first look at the PS5 may not be far off, apparently. A new report says we could see a PS5 game showcase as early as June 4, but that date might shift as Sony scrambles to put together the event.

Sony is planning a big PS5 showcase for the first two weeks of June and will include both first-party titles and third-party titles from Sony’s trusted partners, according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb who spoke to sources under the condition of anonymity. It's a PS5 rumor that has floated around before, and seeing it corroborated by another source with a good track record does give it a certain sense of credibility.

What is less certain, however, is if the event will actually showcase the final PlayStation 5 hardware, or if that will come at a later point in time.

That said, Grubb says the console will be ready for its debut by Sony's August 'State of Play' event, which will highlight both current-gen PS4 and PS4 Pro games as well as next-gen PS5 games.

So how likely is this PS5 reveal event really?

Well, these same PS5 rumors of an early June event have been floating around for some time now. We first heard of it through our sister site GamesRadar back at the beginning of May when Grubb first posted about the event on Resetera, and it’s now something he feels comfortable enough to report on at VentureBeat.

Logistically, an early June event would make sense – it’s when the company likely would’ve chosen to reveal something before the Covid-19 pandemic ruined plans for an in-person event, and it aligns nicely with EA Play Live that’s slated for June 11

Unfortunately, there are no guarantees in this industry and while we’d love to be absolutely certain Sony has an PS5 event on the horizon for us, the company has been holding information on its next-gen console close to its chest.

We’ll keep digging for more information but for now at least it might be worth penciling in Thursday, June 4 as the potential unveiling date for Sony’s next-gen console.

League of Legends mobile game to launch an alpha test in June

Posted: 18 May 2020 12:39 PM PDT

The League of Legends mobile game will finally launch an alpha test in June, according to Riot Games, though it will be limited to users in just two countries.

League of Legends: Wild Rift, the official name of the new version of LoL headed to mobile platforms and consoles in 2020, is headed to users in Brazil and the Philippines before anywhere else, according to Riot’s official twitter account.

The company was responding to community confusion over a faulty “testing” link that suggested an Early Access version was available. But it turns out that Riot will give some fans an early look soon, though it will only be a “very limited alpha test” that will only be available to users in Brazil and the Philippines.

Riot didn’t mention how long this test would be, whether it would extend to other countries, or hint at a League of Legends mobile release date. But the alpha is the only official hint we’ve gotten about how the game’s progressing since the game was officially announced in October, aside from a short developer video in March that covered some changes adapting the PC version to phones and console interfaces.

No League of Legends: Wild Rift release date, but the minimum specs are here

While the tweet didn’t give any hint of a release date, it did state a projection for minimum phone specs. Android phones need 1.5GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and an Adreno 306 GPU, and at launch the game’s developers are working to support 32-bit Android processors.

Android phones matching that baseline include the Samsung Galaxy J5 and the LG G4 Stylus (with 2GB of RAM), meaning you won’t need the latest Samsung Galaxy S20 phone to run League of Legends: Wild Rift.

As for iOS devices, Wild Rift should run on the iPhone 6 or newer – which Riot admitted was more stringent than the previously-announced iPhone 5S threshold. We’ll have to wait and see whether the team can expand compatibility to older phones.

iOS 13.5 is imminent – here's why its the iPhone update you've been waiting for

Posted: 18 May 2020 11:56 AM PDT

Apple's iOS 13.5 update is about to make your face mask-wearing life a little easier, with the clearest sign that its next major iPhone software update is imminent.

The GM (golden master) version of iOS 13.5 is now out for developers, and that's always the last update Apple issues before its software updates go public.

iOS 13.5 features are headlined by a simplified unlock process for Face ID-equipped iPhones if you're wearing a face mask, according to the release notes via 9to5Mac.

That's good news for those struggling with Face ID, as you'll be able to unlock your phone right away with a passcode instead of waiting for the Face ID menu to fail twice, which is how it currently works.

Apple's face-mask-detection feature will work on any iPhone without a home button – so from iPhone 11 to iPhone X, but not the iPhone SE 2 – when you swipe up from the bottom of the lock screen, or need to authenticate with the App Store, Apple Books, Apple Pay or iTunes.

iOS 13.5 supports Covid-19 contact tracing apps

Contact tracing apps have been heralded as an essential step to reopening countries and avoiding the further spread of Covid-19. Apple and Google are leading contract tracing efforts, developing functionality into their smartphone operating systems.

iOS 13.5 includes an 'Exposure Notification API' to support Covid-19 contact tracing apps from public health authorities. No, those critical apps aren't here yet – that's up to individual governments to create or enable – but the framework is ready.

The Exposure Notification API uses Bluetooth Low Energy to determine if, in the last 14 days, you've passed someone and they later test positive for Covid-19 then log it into a centralized database. All of this happens anonymously.

Contract tracing apps will be tech's most important contribution to helping life get back to normal, and iOS 13.5 is the first step toward making that happen.

For the immediate future, however, the ability to unlock your phone faster is the main reason to download the iOS 13.5 update as soon as it launches.

Illegal film streaming sites thriving under lockdown

Posted: 18 May 2020 11:30 AM PDT

With more people stuck at home as a result of lockdown orders, visits to illegal streaming sites have increased significantly over the past few months according to new research from FACT.

The UK's intellectual property protection organization revealed that links to illegal streaming sites doubled between February and April. However, links to recently released films trebled during the same period.

CEO of FACT, Kieron Sharp explained to the BBC how this increase in illegal streaming could prevent new films from being financed in the future, saying:

"It's essential to remember that the only legal way of watching films is through the official providers. Every pirated link that we detect denies the rights holder of revenue they are entitled to, and also threatens investment in future content."

Illegal streaming

While FACT did not reveal the names of the recently released films that were streamed illegally online in large numbers, the organization did encourage people to report any illegal streaming sites to Crimestoppers.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, more users have turned to illegal downloading and streaming sites. Back in March for instance, the piracy-tracking firm Muso revealed that traffic to illegal streaming and download sites rose by almost 60 percent. However, just as demand for online piracy grew, so too did demand for legal online streaming services with Netflix adding a record 15.8m subscribers during Q1 2020.

When it came to illegally streaming new releases, the Oscar-winning film Parasite saw demand rise by 240 percent at the start of the pandemic. The 2011 film Contagion, about a virus outbreak, also saw a rise in illegal streaming visits of 151 percent.

Downloading or streaming films and TV shows illegally not only hurts the companies that make them, it can also lead to your PC or Mac being infected with malware. For instance, Microsoft recently warned of a new malware campaign that installs cryptominers on the computers of users who download films on torrent sites.

All this week's Xbox One deals are available for the standard £249.99 or less, meaning you won't get stung with any inflated price tags due to the booming popularity and stock shortages either.

If you've decided it's finally time to shop for some sweet Xbox One deals, you're in luck. Most of these Xbox One bundles include the 1TB consoles now, which are much more accommodating for your library of games and their large install sizes than the 500GB models, which are now mostly discontinued. Whichever Xbox you're looking for, you'll be sure to find it here, so scroll on down and see what we've got on offer this week.

Finding the best Xbox One bundles and deals

Retailers are stocking some cheap Xbox One deals as standalone purchases, but the best value is to be found with bundles offering extra games. Xbox One bundles often cost less than the prices of the standalone consoles too nowadays, so be sure to check out our hand-picked list of the best Xbox One deals below. Or maybe you're looking for a 4K upgrade? Then you'll want to take a look at the latest Xbox One X bundles.

Looking to buy in the US or Australia? You'll want to head on over to our US page or AU page.

xbox one s all-digital edition prices deals

As the name suggests, this version of the Xbox One does not come with a disc drive. So you will not be able to play physical games or blu-rays on this version.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition costs £199 in the UK and comes with codes for Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft and Sea of Thieves, or Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Fortnite DLC depending on which version you pick up. To be honest, we're not entirely convinced at that price point as you can get the regular version for a similar price and with newer games. Actually, we regularly see standard Xbox One S bundles on this page go for even less, so be sure to check out the offers further down the page before jumping on this.

That said, we're seeing prices creep closer to £150 for Xbox bundles now, so it does represent a cheap way to get into the Microsoft ecosystem and start reaping the rewards of Game Pass for less.

cheap xbox one s deals

The slimmed-down design of the Xbox One S looks much better than the original chunky box and the power brick is now a thing of the past. The main draw though is 4K visual support meaning you'll be able to watch specialised Blu-Ray and Netflix content in 4K on your new 4K TV

As we turn the corner towards Series X, we'll be seeing better and better Xbox One bundles as retailers start to shift their stock ahead of the new console. That, and the fact that games are about to get real cheap for this system, means it's not too late to bag yourself a brand new Xbox One S deal in 2020.

Still not found your ideal Xbox One deal in our highlights of the best offers out there? Why not check out more Xbox One bundles directly from the retailers from our list below?

When to find good Xbox One sales

The best Xbox One sales usually happen around key release dates and shopping periods. That means you'll find new Xbox One bundles with the launch of first party exclusive games and hot timed-exclusives as well. That may all go out the window, however, with the upcoming launch of the Xbox Series X. With the new console due out within the year, Microsoft and retailers alike are going to be keen to shift as much stock of the older consoles as usual. That's good for shoppers for two reasons; a) it means you'll pick up Xbox One sales far cheaper, and b) the games you'll be playing on your new console will be reduced in price even more.

The Xbox One X is capable of displaying games in glorious HDR 4K and is the most powerful console ever made. Sadly, it has the price-tag to match too as it's way more expensive than the Xbox One S. The comparison chart below is mainly full of prices for the new console on its own. However, we're starting to see better offers appear online where you can get discounted and free games included too. For more details, head on over to our extensive Xbox One X bundles page for the best value deals.

If you're looking to play your Xbox games online or take advantage of the free Games with Gold initiative, you'll want to check out our cheap Xbox Live Gold deals page where we've found prices considerably cheaper than the default price. If you're looking to play more games on your Xbox One S but don't want to splash on full purchases, you should also check out our best Xbox Game Pass deals

PS5 games: all the games confirmed and expected on the PlayStation 5

Posted: 18 May 2020 10:22 AM PDT

PS5 games are nearly here. Sure, you may not be able to play them yet, but with a confirmed release window for the next-gen PlayStation console – at the end of 2020 – and specifications for the PS5 starting to drop, it's no surprise to see developers start announcing titles for the hardware.

So far we've only had confirmation of third-party PS5 games, including Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. But, when it comes to Sony's first-party titles, we're largely in the dark. Although we are expecting the likes of The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima to be cross-gen games, we can only speculate about what PS5 launch titles and exclusives are in the works.

We saw 13 games introduced at the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal and, while some will be heading to the PS5, others are explicitly Xbox exclusives. After the event, it was confirmed that Dirt 5, Chorus, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and Scarlet Nexus are definitely headed to PS5, while other titles shown are less certain.

But until we get a games-focused reveal event (unlike the PS5 specs reveal that had nothing in the way of games), we can't say exactly which games will be PS5 launch titles. We do now have a decent idea of which games will be coming to the system at some point. To that end, we've gathered together this handy guide to all the PS5 games that have been confirmed so far – and some that we expect to see.

Confirmed PS5 games

Fortnite

Fortnite

Fortnite was confirmed for PS5 in May 2020. It'll arrive at launch, and players can expect some kind of visual upgrade for the game. In mid-2021, the game will be migrated to Unreal Engine 5, too.

Warframe

Warframe

Leyou Technology, parent company of Warframe developer Digital Extremes, has revealed that its free-to-play online sci-fi shooter Warframe will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.

In an earnings report by Leyou Technology, the company stated that it's "preparing to expand Warframe to more platforms, such as the next-generation consoles and other devices".

However, there's no indication of when Warframe will land on PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Gothic

Gothic

After gauging interest with a playable teaser, developer THQ Nordic has confirmed that it's going to remake its 2001 cult classic and bring it to PS5.

Nordic is planning to "stay as faithfully as possible to the original experience" and modernise gameplay mechanics but it's also promised fans that it'll be playing close attention to player feedback from the playable teaser; already the developer has said that it's hearing calls for a "grittier and less colourful world".

Development is still in the very early stages, though, and we shouldn't expect to see it in 2020.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft has confirmed that the next chapter in the Assassin's Creed series is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla sees players take on the role of Viking raider Eivor, who leads their clan from their native home of Norway to the the shores of Dark Ages England - with a hope of settling for good. But resistance from the Saxons won't exactly make it easy.

This new Assassin's Creed game leans more into RPG elements, allowing players to build and management settlements, raid towns for resources, form alliances and even customize their character.

We got our first look at Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay during the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal on May 7, with Ubisoft releasing a new trailer for the upcoming game - but it was a bit of a disappointment.

Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft has confirmed to Windows Central that it's planning for its online tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege, to be available on PS5 from launch day (whenever that launch day may be). In order to avoid forcing early next-gen adopters from having to leave their Siege friends behind, Ubisoft has also said that the game will support cross-generational multiplayer, so PS5 owners will still be able to play with their PS4 friends.

Outriders

Outriders

People Can Fly has confirmed that its upcoming co-op shooter Outriders will land on both PS5 and Xbox Series X in "Holiday 2020" (AKA between October and December this year) - the same release window that we have for both next-gen consoles.

We don't know a huge amount about Outriders just yet, but the developer has described it as "a co-op RPG shooter for a new generation set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe".

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

Gollum

Announced in March 2019, Daedalic's Gollum game has now been confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The developer confirmed to Edge, that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be a "stunning next-gen adventure". Previously Daedlic confirmed Gollum will release in 2021 for PC and "all relevant console platforms at that time". Whether the game will be cross-generation (releasing on PS4 and Xbox One also) is still unconfirmed however.

But what will the game actually be about? Gollum is an action-adventure which focuses on the ring-obsessed creature. According to Daedalic, the narrative-driven game"tells Gollum's story from a perspective never seen before ... while staying true to the legendary books."

Godfall

Godfall

Announced at the Game Awards 2019, Godfall is an action RPG from Gearbox that kind of looks like Destiny with swords and shiny hardware. We don't know exactly what the gameplay is going to look like, but it can be said that Gearbox popularized the "looter shooter" with its Borderlands franchise, so we imagine that the gameplay loop will be just as satisfying.

But, because Gearbox hasn't really made a hack and slash before, we'll just have to wait and see what the actual gameplay will look like and whether the slashing will be as satisfying as Borderlands' shooting.

We don't have a specific release date, but we do know that Godfall will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Epic Games Store "Holiday 2020".

New Bluepoint Studios game

PS5 games

The announcement of a new Bluepoint game was the first time a company came out into the open and said that it is indeed developing a title for Sony's next-generation console.

Bluepoint Studios is the team best known for ports of classic games, having put out the incredibly well received Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and astonishing Shadow of the Colossus remaster.

Talk early in 2019 pointed to the studio's next project being yet another re-imagining of a classic game, and with rumors swirling around a Demon's Souls remake happening (an IP owned by Sony unlike the rest of the Bandai Namco franchise), it's looking like a relatively good guess that'll be the company's next title.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion

First announced at E3 2019, Watch Dogs Legion was initially confirmed for a March 2020 release. However, since then Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will now be delayed into the next financial year which runs from April 2020 to March April 2021, meaning Watch Dogs Legion could see a delay of as little as a month or up to a year.

This delay did, however, make it more likely that Watch Dogs Legion will launch on the PS5 platform. And it will,as the news was officially confirmed by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot at the end of 2019.

Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6

Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 6 is coming to Xbox Series X and PS5 in 2021.

Speaking to GameSpot, EA said that Battlefield 6 will be "targeting new innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms". We're still largely in the dark about what Battlefield 6 is about, and whether it'll also be available on current-gen consoles, but we can't wait to find out more.

Gods and Monsters

Gods and Monsters

Just like Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters is another title from Ubisoft announced for PS4 at E3 2019 that's been delayed from its original early 2020 release into the next financial year.

We could see Gods and Monsters released any time between April 2020 and March 2021 and have now had official confirmation that it'll be coming to the PS5.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Rainbow Six Quarantine was first confirmed during Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference. It was never given a solid release date but it has since been delayed into the 2020-2021 financial year.

So, while we still don't know a release date, this delay has pushed the game closer to the PS5 launch. And, according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, it's one of a number of games that's been officially confirmed for the next-gen console.

WRC 9

WRC 9

It's been officially confirmed that the latest version of the FIA World Rally Championship will officially hit Xbox Series X and PS5. The racing title will release in September 2020 for PC, Switch, Xbox One and PS4, but will also release on next-gen consoles.

“The introduction of new-generation gaming consoles is a wonderfully exciting step and we’re delighted WRC 9 will be the first rally game to become available to gamers on such platforms,” WRC Promoter managing director Oliver Ciesla said.

According to the game's website, WRC 9 will feature rallies in Kenya, New Zealand and Japan from the 2020 WRC calendar, alongside over 400km of roads from all 13 scheduled rounds of the 2020 season.

WRC 10 and WRC 11 have also been confirmed.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2

During an interview with Wccftech at E3 2019, developer Techland confirmed Dying Light 2 is set for next-gen consoles.

"Techland always has an eye on the latest new toys!" Techland's chief technology officer, Pawel Rohleder, said. "To be more specific - yes, the plan since the beginning of production has been to make Dying Light 2 a cross-generation title."

Dirt 5

The racing franchise returns with Dirt 5 (stylized DiRT 5), which was introduced during the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal video and shortly thereafter confirmed to be coming to PS5 (and PS4, actually).

Dirt 5 will surely showcase off-road racing in worldwide locations like previous games in the series. While we don't know much about the new title, we do know that the top dogs in male voice acting, Nolan North and Troy Baker, will both lend their talents to the game.

Chorus

Chorus

Chorus (styled CHORVS) is another game introduced during the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal video, but its official YouTube trailer confirmed it's also coming to PS5 (and PS4).

The futuristic starfighter shooting game follows Nara as she pilots her sentient ship Forsaken to destroy the cult she once belonged to. Wild! Its visuals evoke the moody red lighting of Control, but the combat feels a lot like Everspace and other arcade-style space shooters.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 had already been announced for current consoles, but a new trailer was unveiled during the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal event indicating it was coming to that console. When that official trailer hit YouTube, we leanred it's coming to PS5 as well.

Players take the role of a vampire in the World of Darkness, where undead like yourselves have the capability to entrance, hunt, and gruesomely kill humans. Plots, schemes, and action will change the balance of power in a shifting world. Neat!

Scarlet Nexus

The anime-styled hack-and-slash Scarlet Nexus was first revealed during the first Xbox Series X gameplay reveal video in May, but publisher Bandai Namco quickly announced the game would be coming to PS5 as well (and PS4, for that matter).

The futuristic action game follows a humanity besieged by mutants (that look like flower planters with legs, sure) who can only be fought with psychic powers. In other words, the best part of Control in a stylized anime setting. Bandai Namco confirmed this is the first in a new franchise (likely subject to its success) that's being created by talent from the Tales Of series.

Rumored PS5 games

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red has been reticent to say whether or not its upcoming title will be releasing on PS5. But we do know Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing on Xbox Series X.

Despite no official confirmation, CD Projekt seems to suggest, during an earnings call, that Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to PS5 – we can't see why it wouldn't – but that the company is waiting for Sony to make the announcement first.

“There’s no official announcement coming from PlayStation so we really can’t confirm or deny anything,” Nowakowski said. “It’s PlayStation that first needs to address these issues and then we’re happy to make a comment, but we can’t jump the gun ahead of them.”

The company has also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will still release in September and will be available on Xbox Series X "from the get-go", with an enhanced, next-gen version being released at a later date.

If CD Projekt Red is planning to release an upgraded version of Cyberpunk 2077 for next-gen consoles, and is planning to release on PS5, then Sony would likely need a feature similar to Smart Delivery to implement this – as it appears this patch is more than a simple update, and is instead a full-blown upgrade.

We can only speculate, but it would explain why Sony has held off confirming that the game is coming, perhaps until it itself reveals a forwards-compatibility feature.

Death Stranding

Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima and Sony have been pretty tight-lipped about whether we will be seeing Death Stranding as a PS5 game.

Death Stranding has already launched on the PS4 but in an interview with Wired, Sony's Mark Cerny hinted that we could be seeing the allusive title on PS5 too.

When asked by Wired about the transition from PS4 to next generation, and how Death Stranding will fit into this process, Cerny gave a "pregnant pause" and a glib smile before a spokesperson interjected that game would be released for PS4.

It's not exactly a confirmation but Cerny's response has definitely fuelled speculation that Death Stranding will be a cross-generation release.

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima

SuckerPunch's historical open world adventure will take players back to Feudal Japan, and now we have a much clearer picture of when that will happen. At the Game Awards 2019, SuckerPunch revealed that Ghost of Tsushima will be hitting the streets on July 17, 2020, which means the wait is very nearly over.

That means that the game will arrive ahead of the PS5, but given how beautiful the graphics have been so far, we wouldn't be surprised if it launches on Sony's new console. Still, we haven't heard word one from Sony about whether Ghost of Tsushima will be a PS5 game.

The Last of Us: Part 2

PS5 games

The The Last of Us: Part 2 was due to release on May 29, 2020; however, the game has been delayed until June 19, 2020.

We think it's a safe assumption that any Sony exclusives coming in 2020 (or that were due in 2020) will likely be cross-generation titles.

It would seem slightly odd for Sony to release one of its most eagerly anticipated sequels for just the PS4 at the end of the console's life cycle. So we think it's a safe bet to assume Joel and Ellie will make their way to the PS5, instantly becoming one of the best PS5 games.

Starfield

Starfield

Bethesda has quite a lot of projects in the works, but the one we seem to know the least about is Starfield. All we know so far is that Starfield is the gaming behemoth's first new IP for 25 years and will be a single player RPG set in outer space.

Having only seen an announcement trailer, we don't expect Starfield to release until at least 2020 which means it will land in the prime window to become a PS5 game. Bethesda hasn't let slip if this will be the case but it seems likely we will be venturing into Bethesda's galaxy on next generation consoles.

The Elder Scrolls 6

The Elder Scrolls 6

As we said, Bethesda has been pretty busy behind the scenes since E3 2018. Not only is Starfield on the cards, but the long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6 has also been confirmed to be in the works.

Bethesda's Todd Howard has already stated that The Elder Scrolls 6 won't be coming out until after Starfield. So it'll be a while before we venture into Tamriel again, likely on next generation consoles.

Grand Theft Auto 6

GTA 6

Ok, yes, we are being a bit hopeful here - mainly because Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been announced by Rockstar Games. But it's almost guaranteed that we will see a new instalation in the Grand Theft Auto series, and it's not going to be for a while.

Therefore, it is likely that a release date will fall into the next generation, making GTA 6 a PS5 game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

PS5 games

Again, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has not been confirmed to be a PS5 game but Square Enix has confirmed the title will come to PS4 first - with an Xbox One and PC release likely in the future .

Given the age of the PS4, and the ambitious nature of the game, a cross-generation title with next-gen platforms isn't out of the question. So we're definitely hoping to see the Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS5.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2

Horizon Zero Dawn 2

Now, it's worth noting this title hasn't been officially confirmed nevermind being confirmed for PS5.

Sony has had huge success with its PS4 exclusives, particularly post-apocalyptic RPG Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best-selling games on the PS4, selling over 10 million copies and cementing itself as a must-have title. So it would make perfect sense for Guerrilla Games to develop a sequel, right?

It seems that is exactly what's happening. While neither Sony nor Guerrilla Games have announced a Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is in the works, one of the game's voice actors spilled the beans earlier this year and essentially confirmed a sequel is on the way. But with no release date in sight, it looks likely that Horizon Zero Dawn will land on PS5.

God of War 2

God of War 2

Much like Horizon Zero Dawn 2, God of War 2 hasn't officially been confirmed to be in the works.

It's only been a year since the critically acclaimed (and our Game of the Year 2018 winner) God of War reboot launched exclusively on PlayStation 4, but we're already looking to the future.

Despite Sony remaining tight-lipped on the subject, the success of God of War means a sequel is probably on the way (perhaps another God of War 2?). In addition, Sony Santa Monica has posted job listings for a number of roles across its teams - with one listing clearly citing the God of War reboot.

At this point, it's most likely that God of War 2 will come to PS5 than the PS4.

Gran Turismo

Gran Turismo

There are rumors abound that the next Gran Turismo title will be a part of the PS5's launch lineup. While nothing has been confirmed, it does seem likely that a Gran Turismo game will appear on the console at some point as it's PlayStation's landmark racing series.

Wired has reported that developer Polyphony Digital has Gran Turismo Sport running on a PS5 devkit while an even more recent leak has suggested that Gran Turismo 7 will release on November 20 as a launch title for the console.

We don't know for sure when a Gran Turismo title will appear on PS5, or what form it will take, but we think it's likely it will happen at some point.

Hackers turn supercomputers into cryptocurrency mining rigs

Posted: 18 May 2020 10:00 AM PDT

Hackers have manage to install cryptocurrency mining malware on multiple supercomputers across Europe that have now had to shut down as they investigate.

Security incidents at facilities housing supercomputers were reported in the UK, Germany and Switzerland while a similar breach was also rumored to have occurred at a high-performance computing center located in Spain.

The University of Edinburgh, which runs the ARCHER supercomputer, suffered the first attack and the organization reported that it had disabled access to the system and reset SSH passwords due to a security exploitation on the ARCHER login nodes. On the same day, the organization responsible for coordinating research projects across supercomputers in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, bwHPC announced that five of its high-performance computing clusters were shut down following similar security incidents.

Later in the week, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences' Leibniz Computing Center (LRZ) announced that it had disconnected a computing cluster from the internet following a security breach. Officials from the Julich Research Center then announced that they shut down the JURECA, JUDAC and JUWELS supercomputers after an IT security incident. The Technical University in Dresden also announced that it had to shut down its Taurus supercomputer as well.

Targeting supercomputers

While none of the organizations whose supercomputers were affected by these security incidents have published any details on them, the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) for the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) has released malware samples and network compromise indicators for some of the attacks.

After reviewing these malware samples, the UK-based cybersecurity firm Cado Security believes that the attackers like gained access to the supercomputer clusters by using compromised SSH credentials. These credentials appear to have been stolen from university staff from Canada, China and Poland who were given access to the supercomputers to run demanding and complex computing jobs.

Cado Security's Co-Founder Chris Doman told ZDNet that similar malware file names and network indicators suggest that these security incidents may have been carried out by the same threat actor. Based on his analysis, the attacker leveraged the CVE-2019-15666 vulnerability in the Linux kernel to gain root access and then deployed an application to mine the Monero cyrptocurrency.

Having to take down this many supercomputers at once due to security incidents is unprecedented and unfortunately, many of these systems were being used to research and study Covid-19 at the time.

Xbox Series X games: every exclusive and cross-gen game announced so far

Posted: 18 May 2020 09:55 AM PDT

We're starting to hear more about Xbox Series X games as the next-gen console's launch date creeps ever closer. Faster and capable of more advanced graphics than its predecessors, Microsoft's next-generation hardware promises to be the most powerful games console in the world when it launches late in 2020 – even more so than the PS5, which is expected to hit shelves around the same time.

We've now had a somewhat-substantial first look at the Xbox Series X game lineup, with a number of third-party titles having been announced – and shown off with in-engine gameplay – during the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal. We now know that, because of Smart Delivery, Madden 21 will be the first official Xbox Series X game you can buy beginning in August and that there are two Xbox Series X-exclusives so far: The Medium and Scorn.

But, for those waiting to hear more about first-party Xbox Series X games like Halo Infinite, we'll have to wait until July when Microsoft will showcase Xbox Game Studio titles as part of its Xbox 20/20 monthly streams.

To know what you're going to be playing on the next-gen console, here's every Xbox Series X game Microsoft has confirmed so far – and some others that we hope, expect (or demand) to see.

Every Xbox Series X game and Xbox Series X exclusive confirmed

We had our first Xbox Series X gameplay reveal on May 7, and got a number of new Xbox Series game announcements along with it. They're all third-party games, but you can check out the announced titles below, with previously confirmed titles (like Halo Infinite, for one) below that. We'll be sure to update these entries as more information on each of these games becomes available.

It's also worth pointing out that, while most of the games listed below are likely to be cross-gen compatible, there are two that are Xbox Series X exclusive - The Medium and Scorn. According to Scorn's Kickstarter page, the developers chose Xbox Series X primarily because of its powerful hardware, and also plan to bring the game to PC via Steam, Windows Store, and GOG.

Bright Memory Infinite

Bright Memory Infinite

Chinese FYQD Studio is behind the first game to be shown off in the May 7 Inside Xbox stream, Bright Memory Infinite.

It has a very sci-fi feel, but with swords and shields mixing with assault rifles and... magical beams of light acting as a grappling hook? There are even futuristic car chase sequences right out of Blade Runner – and while we don't know much about the game, our first in-engine look of the game running on Xbox Series X definitely got out attention. (The game is reportedly made by a single person, too.)

We know it's coming to PC, too, and that owners of the previous Bright Memory title will get the new title for free.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Dirt 5

Dirt 5

A new Dirt game! Dirt is a classic racing game series from developer Codemasters, and we're not surprised to see it make the way to next-gen consoles. Expect... fast cars? Racing? With only a brief look so far, we can't say much more, but it's sure to be rendered beautifully, and have the smooth drifting we'd expect from a next-gen console and Xbox Series X controller. Dirt 5 will be supported by Smart Delivery, too.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Scorn (Xbox Series X exclusive)

Scorn

Oh boy, this trailer was disconcerting. Scorn appears to take place in a grim, gray, and bloody world, with mysterious stone statues and intestine-lookalike worms combining for... something. We got some serious Alien / Prometheus vibes – fitting, given the clear influence from Alien designer H.R. Giger – and know it's a first-person horror game, set in "a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry".

It's said to be an Xbox Series X exclusive, though it also appears to have a Steam page, so we imagine it will be a timed exclusivity window.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Chorus is a space-flight combat simulator, with Mass Effect stylings and a neat Knight Ryder gimmick – your spaceship being sentient – powering the galactic action.

There's some confusion around the name, given the font seems to write it as 'CHORVS', but we're sticking with 'CHORUS' for our collective sanity. Either way, with "mind-bending abilities" and plenty of space combat promised, this could be a great test of the Xbox Series X's graphical upgrade.

MADDEN 21

MADDEN 21

That's right! The next Madden game is coming to Xbox Series X. The NFL game will bring American football to your console with high-quality graphics and (hopefully) super smooth gameplay on the high-spec console. Also confirmed for Xbox Smart Delivery.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

The sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is here! With telekinesis, monstrous puppets, and (of course) plenty of vampirism, this looks like a must-buy game for Xbox Series X. It sounds like it will have a banging soundtrack too.

With the previous game releasing in 2004, there's a lot of hype for this title, and the next-gen specs look set to make it a first-person vampire game to remember.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Call of the Sea

Call of the Sea

Call of the Sea looks to be a narrative-led mystery game, tasking you with finding your lost husband among the jungles, oceans, and islands of the South Pacific.

It's already confirmed for both Xbox Game Pass and Smart Delivery – and we'll update you as we find out more.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

The Ascent

The Ascent

If Cyberpunk 2077 isn't enough dystopian sci-fi for you, The Ascent may have you covered. With dirty, high-tech cities, alien populations living side by side, and talk of supernovas causing havoc, will The Ascent be an imitator or an innovator? We'll find out soon enough.

We do know the game will be a top-down shooter, and is the first game from developer Neon Giant.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

The Medium (Xbox Series X exclusive)

The Medium

The Medium is a next-gen psychological horror game from the developer behind Blair Witch – and with the composer behind the Silent Hill series helping to score the action.

Players will inhabit the body of a spiritual medium called Marianne, bordering this world and the next. We can pretty much guarantee it will sound terrifying, and with it being so many years since a Silent Hill game, we can't wait to see if The Medium is a worthy successor.

Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus

From Bandai Namco, this unsettling action game sees you fighting off flowery enemies to protect humanity. It has an art style clearly informed by modern 3D anime, with a teenage protagonist with the gift of 'psychokinesis', laying waste to some sort of sentient plant life – with human legs? We don't get it, but from the outset this looks like a hack-and-slash adventure worth a lazy afternoon. It's been confirmed for Smart Delivery too.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Second Extinction

Second Extinction

Earth has fallen. Rally your squad. Shoot dinosaurs. This FPS game sees you gunning down dinos to help retake earth from these scaly beasties. The name isn't inspiring, but the trailer suggests there may be some cooperative or competitive element to keep things interesting.

Xbox Series X Optimied? Yes.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Want to play a Yakuza game on Xbox Series X. You'll be able to from the console's launch.

If that seems soon, it is! Like A Dragon technically came out in Japan this January (on PS5), though, so it's only the Western release that's being timed for next-gen consoles. It's been confirmed for Smart Delivery too.

Given how beloved the Yakuza series is, though, it'll be sure to get a lot of attention – with this title seeing you play as young man Ichi as he navigates the organized crime world of urban Japan – but the trailer above shows it off better than we could summarise it.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Want to know what else you can play on Xbox Series X? Here are all the games that had previously been confirmed for the next-gen console – with some rumored or speculated titles below that.

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite is was the first title that Microsoft confirmed for Xbox Series X - so we definitely know Master Chief is making the jump to the next-generation console.

Not only that, but Halo Infinite will be a launch title for Series X, releasing in Holiday 2020 alongside the console (or consoles). It's not particularly a surprise, considering Master Chief has served as the face of Xbox for nearly 18 years...

According to Microsoft, Halo Infinite (like all exclusive Xbox game Studios titles) will use the new Smart Delivery feature. That means you only have to purchase the game once, and you'll have the access to the best available version for whichever Xbox console you choose to play on.

Warframe

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red was reticent to say whether or not its upcoming title will be releasing on the next generation of consoles. Thanks to a tweet by the developer, we now have confirmation that Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to Xbox Series X - and the game will even make use of Microsoft's new Smart Delivery feature, allowing players to upgrade their Xbox One version of the game to the Xbox Series X version for free.

In addition, a "proper, full-blown next-gen version" of Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Xbox Series X – but it won't be available on the console at launch.

That's according to CD Projekt, the parent company of Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red, who revealed during an earnings call (via VGC) that, while the game will still release in September and will be available on Xbox Series X "from the get-go", an enhanced, next-gen version will be released at a later date.

“In terms of Microsoft’s console, like I said, we have officially confirmed both the update and the cross-gen availability, meaning that you’ll be able to play the game from the get-go on the next-gen,” CD Projekt SVP of business development Michal Nowakowski said during the call.

“However, when it comes to a proper, full-blown next-gen version, that’s going to come later, we haven’t announced when and I don’t have a new comment here on that."

A CD Projekt Red spokesperson confirmed to VGC that the “full-blown next-gen version” Nowakowski referred to is the previously announced Xbox Series X upgrade.

Gothic

Gothic

After gauging interest with a playable teaser, developer THQ Nordic has confirmed that it's going to remake its 2001 cult classic and bring it to Xbox Series X.

Nordic is planning to "stay as faithfully as possible to the original experience" and modernise gameplay mechanics but it's also promised fans that it'll be playing close attention to player feedback from the playable teaser; already the developer has said that it's hearing calls for a "grittier and less colourful world".

Development is still in the very early stages, though, and we shouldn't expect to see it launch on Microsoft's console in 2020.

Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege director, Leroy Athanassof, has confirmed in an interview with Windows Central that Ubisoft's plan is to have the online tactical shooter be available on Xbox Series X from the console's launch day.

Ubisoft doesn't want players to face being split up from their friends just because some have jumped into the new generation when others haven't so it's also been confirmed that the game will support cross-gen play. That means Xbox Series X players will still be able to play with the Xbox One friends.

Xbox Series X Optimized? TBC.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

Xbox Series X's name and design was officially revealed during the Game Awards 2019. Alongside a look at the next-gen console we also recieved an official announcement that there's another Hellblade on the way - and it's coming to the next Xbox.

We don't know much about what Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 will be about but the announcement trailer, harnessing the Series X's next-gen technology, was extremely impressive - and it's likely the game will make use of Smart Delivery.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft has confirmed that the next chapter in the Assassin's Creed series is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla sees players take on the role of Viking raider Eivor, who leads their clan from their native home of Norway to the shores of Dark Ages England – with a hope of settling for good. But resistance from the Saxons won't exactly make it easy.

This new Assassin's Creed game leans more into RPG elements, allowing players to build and manage settlements, raid towns for resources, form alliances and even customize their character.

We got our first look at gameplay on May 7 on an Inside Xbox stream, but it was something of a disappointment in how little it showed. We're hoping the eventual game will have more to it than the little blips of action we've seen.

Xbox Series X Optimized? Yes.

Outriders

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

Gods and Monsters

Gods and Monsters

Just like Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters is another title from Ubisoft announced for Xbox at E3 2019 that's been delayed from its original early 2020 release into the next financial year.

Knowing now that we could see Gods and Monsters released any time between April 2020 and March 2021, we've long thought it's likely that the title will make an appearance on the Xbox Series X platform.

This has now been officially confirmed. Along with Rainbow Six Quarantine and Wathdogs: Legion, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has said it will be coming to the next-gen platform.

Xbox Series X Optimized? TBC.

Xbox Series X Optimized? TBC.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Rainbow Six Quarantine was first confirmed during Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference. It was never given a solid release date but it has since been delayed into the 2020-2021 financial year.

So, while we still don't know a release date, this delay has pushed the game closer to the Xbox Series X launch and increases the likelihood we'll see it playable on the next generation of consoles. Of course this has now been officially confirmed by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in an earnings call to investors in November, 2019.

Xbox Series X Optimized? TBC.

Watchdogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion

First announced at E3 2019, Watch Dogs Legion was initially confirmed for a March 2020 release. However, since then Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will now be delayed into the next financial year which runs from April 2020 to March April 2021, meaning Watch Dogs Legion could see a delay of as little as a month or up to a year.

This delay does, however, make it more likely than ever that Watch Dogs Legion will launch for Xbox Series X as a cross-generation title. Which has now been officially confirmed by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in an earnings call to investors in November, 2019. Watchdogs: Legion will be joining Rainbow Six Quarantine and Gods and Monsters on the next-gen platform.

WRC 9

Xbox Series X Optimized? TBC.

Suspected Xbox Series X titles

Everwild

Everwild

A surprise announcement during XO19 was Rare's next original title: Everwild. This game is still in the very early stages of its development and there's no release date just yet. This certainly suggests that the game could be a cross-generational title, launching on Series X and Xbox One as an exclusive.

We don't know much about Everwild just yet but Rare has said that it will "give you memorable, engaging and meaningful experiences for players everywhere to share."

Starfield

Starfield

Bethesda has quite a lot of projects in the works, but the one we seem to know the least about is Starfield. All we know so far is that Starfield is the gaming behemoth's first new IP in 25 years and will be a single player RPG set in outer space.

Having only seen an announcement trailer, we don't expect Starfield to release until at least 2020 which means it will land in the prime window to become an Xbox Series X game. Bethesda hasn't let slip if this will be the case, but it seems likely we will be venturing into Bethesda's galaxy on next-generation consoles.

So it'll be a while before we venture into Tamriel again, likely on next-generation consoles.

Therefore, it is likely that a release date will fall into the next generation, making GTA 6 an Xbox Series X game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Again, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has not been confirmed to be an Xbox Series X game but Square Enix has confirmed the title will come to PS4 first - with an Xbox One and PC release likely in the future .

Given the age of the Xbox One, and the ambitious nature of the game - it's coming in multiple episodes across a multi-year release schedule - a cross-generation title with next-gen platforms isn't out of the question. So we're definitely hoping to see the Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox Series X.

Check out everything we know so far about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2.

Act fast and get a £60 voucher with TalkTalk's bargain fibre broadband deals

Posted: 18 May 2020 09:30 AM PDT

With all the family Zoom events, online baking tutorials and non-stop Netflix binging, good internet connections have become an absolute necessity. But if you're current plan is coming to an end and that act fast mentality has kicked in then don't worry... there are some excellent offers out there right now.

Of all of the broadband deals readily available, TalkTalk's most recent offer seems like the best option for most people. It doesn't cost a penny upfront and the monthly bills come in at just £23.50.

At that price, this 18 month contract is one of the best value fibre broadband deals we've seen for a while, scoring you speeds averaging 38Mb. On top of that, for the cherry on the cake, TalkTalk is even throwing in a £60 reward card.

This offer will be coming to an end on May 20 though so you will need to act with some haste. We've listed both this offer and its closest competitors below for you to look through.

TalkTalk's great value cheap broadband deal:

What other broadband deals are there?

As we mentioned above, Vodafone has the strongest competitor to TalkTalk's offer, bringing a £75 voucher to the table. That's on top of speeds averaging 63Mb, monthly costs of £22.95, no set-up fees and a further discount for existing Vodafone customers. However, Vodafone does operate on 24 month contracts.

Another strong fibre offering comes from BT. With speeds averaging 50Mb at a price of £28.99, BT is looking strong right now. Throw in the £80 Mastercard BT is offering and this is a solid choice.
