Microsoft DreamWalker turns to VR to change your daily commute in a massive way

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 12:45 PM PDT

The Matrix is real, and it’s everywhere. Or, at least, it might be in the near future with Microsoft tinkering with new VR technologies once again.

Using virtual reality, Microsoft is seeking to change the idea of the daily commute by immersing VR users in a virtual world as they walk through real-world environments on their way to work, school or a café on foot.

In their recently published paper, researchers Jackie Yang, Eyal Ofek, Andy Wilson and Christian Holz entertain the idea of “a future in which people spend considerably more time in virtual reality, even during moments when they walk between locations in the real world.” To do so, they created a VR system that allows its users to navigate the real world on foot while simultaneously seeing themselves strolling around in a place of their choosing in the VR world.

They named this VR system DreamWalker.

How does it work?

As reported by Ars Technica, it’s supposed to keep users fully immersed in the virtual world despite real world obstacles. To do that, DreamWalker is designed to find a path in the chosen VR environment that’s similar to the one the user is walking along in the real world.

It’s also designed with its own tracking system, which utilizes GPS locations, inside-out tracking and RGBD frames to guide users to stay on the right path, help them avoid obstacles and get them to their destinations, all while keeping them immersed in a dynamically changing VR world.

The team has gone so far as to test the system on eight participants, as seen on a YouTube video posted by Microsoft Research. These participants were asked to walk across the Microsoft campus along a 15-minute route while strolling around Manhattan in the VR world.

Of course, this VR system has a long way to go before it sees the light of day. In its current version, the VR scenes in DreamWalker aren’t exactly a more picturesque alternative to the real world, with unrealistic graphics not unlike The Sims video game series. This isn’t like in the movies, folks. At least, not yet.

Plus, real-life consequences of such a technology are easy to imagine. For instance, one tracking miscalculation, and the user could get hit by a car.

However, if or when perfected, DreamWalker could also potentially have many real-world applications.

F1 live stream: how to watch the Mexican Grand Prix 2019 online from anywhere

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 11:47 AM PDT

If Lewis Hamilton was hoping for an easy ride to claim his sixth Formula 1 championship at the Mexican Grand Prix, then Ferrari definitely didn't get the memo. But Hamilton can still take the title today, but there are two bright red cars ahead of him on the grid. You can live stream F1 with this guide - from pretty much anywhere you are - to see what happens next.

Yep, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel occupy the front row of the grid today in Mexico. It's a great qualifying result for the Italian constructor (after Max Verstappen was penalised), but even if they manage to deny Hamilton today there's a sense of it simply delaying the inevitable - such is the Mercedes man's overall lead.

The 71-lap Mexican circuit at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City's Magdalena Mixiuhca sports park is a relatively short 4.3km, but it's intense.

Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas took the win at the last Japanese Grand Prix, making him the only driver in a position to potentially stand in the way of Hamilton. But Mexico is, as Hamilton says, the team's "achilles heel" so he's keeping his expectations grounded. All that said this could be the third straight year that Hamilton seals the titles at this track.

The race coincides with Mexico's Day of the Dead festival so expect a colourful crowd with lots of excited supporters for what should be a very intense race indeed.

You can see all the exciting racing using an F1 live stream from anywhere in the world – here's how.

Browns vs Patriots live stream: how to watch today's NFL football from anywhere

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 11:08 AM PDT

We’ve reached week 8 of the 2019-20 NFL season and this weekend you’ll get to see the Cleveland Browns go up against the New England Patriots. This is a game you won’t want to miss as the Patriots currently lead the AFC East and the Browns hold the second spot in the AFC North. Thankfully we’re here to make sure you catch every minute of today’s game and we’ll show you how to get a Browns vs Patriots live stream regardless of where in the world you are.

The Patriots are going into today’s game with a perfect 7-0 record after winning every game they’ve played so far this season. During this week’s Monday Night Football, the team defeated the Jets 33-0 and Bill Belichick will likely be looking for another big win today. This season the Patriot’s defense has really shined and the team is allowing just 6.9 points per game. Will New England be able to remain undefeated?

The Browns will certainly have their work cut out for them during today’s game as the team has won just two games this season. They defeated the Jets 23-3 during week 2 and also managed to triumph over the Ravens 40-25 during week 4 but they lost their games against the Titans, Rams, 49ers and Seahawks. The Browns are going into today’s game well rested after their week 7 bye but will that be enough to stop the defending NFL champions?

Whether you’re a Browns fan in Cleveland, a Patriots fan in New England or just want to see two of the top teams in the AFC meet on the field, we’ll show you how to live stream the Browns vs Patriots from anywhere in the world so you don’t miss a single touchdown.

Watch the Browns vs Patriots game online from outside your country (or in a blackout)

Watching this game from the US, UK, Canada or Australia? We'll tell you how to catch the NFL game further down in the article.

But if you're somewhere else in the world - or if a coverage blackout is stopping you from watching in the US - then there's still a way you can live stream Browns vs Patriots online (and you don't even have to slum it with a grainy, illegal feed you've found on Reddit). Instead you could use a VPN - or Virtual Private Network - to change the IP address to one in a different state or country which does have a stream. And it's not even hard to do.

How to watch the Browns vs Patriots in the US

Can I watch with the NFL Game Pass?

Well it's a no and a yes. The NFL Game Pass in the US will only let you watch a replay of the game, but not the live action.

Interestingly, it's a different story with an International NFL Game Pass where all 256 regular season games are being shown absolutely live...shame you can't officially get access to that if you and your laptop's IP address is in the US.

Other ways cord cutters can stream NFL live online

Liverpool vs Tottenham live stream: how to watch today's Premier League football online from anywhere

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 10:41 AM PDT

Liverpool may have lost their 100% record following their draw at Old Trafford last weekend, but Jurgen Klopp will have been impressed with how his side fought their way back to win a point. Up next are last year's Champions League foes and you can watch all the action as it happens, no matter where you are in the world, by following our Liverpool vs Tottenham live stream guide below.

While Tottenham's emphatic 5-0 midweek win over Red Star Belgrade in Europe will have lifted some of the pressure off boss Mauricio Pochettino, today's match places the focus back on their faltering title challenging hopes against a side who already look out of sight. Will Spurs get their league challenge back on track or will the Reds increase the gap between them and a title rival?

Both teams have been less than convincing at the back in recent weeks, which suggest goals at both ends will be likely. Like their opponents today, Liverpool also enjoyed a resounding victory in Europe mid-week, with a 4-1 win against Genk, and the home side will be keen up to get back to winning ways after dropping points last weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip sat out the Genk victory and will face late fitness tests ahead of today's game, but Mohamed Salah looks set to start having returned to action in Wednesday's game.

Having played a back three in their lacklustre draw against Watford last week, Spurs reverted back to a 4-2-3-1 in Belgrade with some success and the smart money will be on Pochettino's side sticking with what appears to be their most effective formation against the Reds.

It's shaping up to be a fascinating encounter - check out our guide below on how to obtain a Liverpool vs Tottenham live stream, regardless of where you are in the world. And to find out how to watch the rest of the season's games, check out our guide on how to live stream the 19/20 Premier League football season

Use a VPN to watch Premier League football from outside your country

If you're abroad this weekend but still want to watch your home coverage, you'll need a VPN to do so. That's because your normal coverage will be geo-blocked. It's really easy to do and stops you having to tune in to some dodgy stream you've heard about on Reddit.

Latest AirPods Pro leak points to some new colors for Apple's earbuds

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 07:30 AM PDT

There's plenty of unofficial buzz around the next generation of the Apple AirPods – yesterday we saw what the new charging case might look like, and today reports from China suggest new colors are on the way too.

We might see as many as eight colors, says the Economic Daily News, based on inside sources. Those colors are being tipped to include black, white and green.

The new story also backs up some of the details we've previously heard about the upcoming AirPods Pro or AirPods 3: improved noise cancelation and waterproofing, making these earbuds quite the upgrade.

New AirPods were of course revealed earlier this year, but the upgrade was a minor one, focusing on faster pairing among a few other tweaks. The next generation could be a more major upgrade.

Just in time for Christmas

Since first appearing at the end of 2016, the AirPods have proved a big hit for Apple – industry estimates suggest it might shift as many as 80 million pairs of the truly wireless earbuds during 2020.

An upgrade right at the end of 2019 would certainly help boost that number. A launch before Christmas is now being widely predicted.

Meanwhile Apple's competitors are trying their best to take a chunk out of the AirPods market share: Google recently unveiled its new Pixel Buds, arriving in 2020, while Microsoft is putting the Surface Earbuds on sale before the end of the year.

We're now seeing so many leaks and rumors around the AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro that it wouldn't be a surprise to hear something from Apple very soon – maybe even within the next week or so.

Bengals vs Rams live stream: how to watch today's NFL London Games 2019 from anywhere

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 07:27 AM PDT

The NFL has landed in the UK for the 2019 NFL London Games and this weekend you’ll get to see the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Los Angeles Rams at the famous Wembley Stadium. If you’re in the UK, you’ll even be able to watch this game live as it airs for free on BBC Two. We’re here to make sure you catch every minute of today’s game - see how to get a Bengals vs Rams live stream regardless of where in the world you are.

The Bengals are going into today’s game as massive underdogs as the team has yet to win a single game all season. The team will certainly have its work cut out for it as they currently rank last in yards allowed and rush defense. While Cincinnati has played overseas once before when they tied with the Redskins 27-27 in London in 2016, the Rams are out of the country for the third time in four years so once again they’ll likely have the advantage. Can the Bengals turn things around and get their first win of the season in London?

The Rams are clearly the favorites of this game and the team has won four out of the seven games they’ve played so far this season. Last week Los Angeles defeated the Falcons 37-10 but the team lost its three previous games against the 49ers, the Seahawks and the Buccaneers. The Rams are also going into today’s game well rested after spending a week on the East Coast after last Sunday’s game against the Falcons. Will the Rams be able to keep up the pressure and defeat the Bengals in London?

Whether you’re a Bengals fan in Cincinnati, a Rams fan in Los Angeles or just want to tune in to see all of the action at the third NFL game in London, we’ll show you how to live stream the Bengals vs Rams from anywhere in the world so you don’t miss a single play.

Nissan’s Ariya concept lights up the Tokyo Motor Show

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 07:00 AM PDT

Concept cars are always a good bet if you’re a trying to drum up a bit of attention and get the crowds flocking to your booth. And, at Tokyo Motor Show this year there were plenty of them vying for pole position.

But while many of these weird and wonderful visions of the future are nothing more than designer dreams, Nissan was showcasing its Ariya Concept, which is actually a lot more developed than just being a funky creation on wheels. This is a car that could actually happen.

In fact, Nissan had two new concepts on display at the show, with the Ariya being presented alongside the IMk. This dinky little all-electric offering draws its main inspiration from the tiny Kei cars that proliferate Japan’s packed inner city streets, but adds a whole lot more inside the bijou box design.

Nissan Ariya interior

Nissan Ariya concept interior

While the shag pile carpet might not be for everyone, the IMk looks undeniably cool and would sit nicely at the compact end of the growing EV marketplace. The car is designed with Japan firmly in mind, and its main purpose would be for shorter journeys. Simple, but effective.

While the Nissan IMk remains a pure concept for the time being, its larger relative the Ariya, suggested company executives, is in a much more advanced stage of development. A crossover EV, which is set to feature twin electric motors, the imaginative new model has evolved from the Nissan IMx concept that debuted in Tokyo back in 2017.

The Ariya Concept revolves around the core values of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility thinking. As a result it would feature a host of new and improved technology with Nissan’s ProPilot 2.0 sitting at the heart of it all.

The beefed up package of driver aids would include the ability to enjoy hands-off highway driving, complementing Nissan’s already handy Door to Door Navigation. The much more sophisticated navigation system would benefit from a raft of cameras and sensors that cover a full 360 degrees around the car.

Meanwhile, your smartphone is meant as a key piece of the controls puzzle. For example, getting the car ready for your departure with seat position and heater controls adjusted before you’ve even got in could be carried out using your handset. There’s a party trick thrown in for good measure too. ProPilot Remote Park lets the car park itself once you’ve got out. Pretty useful if you’ve found a particularly tight space that makes getting out of the car itself nigh on impossible.

A celebration of Japanese design

Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president of global design seemed particularly excited about the car as he stood in front of it. He explained that both the exterior and interior are meant to celebrate the Ariya’s Japanese DNA. It’s definitely got more attitude than the similarly-sized X-Trail for example.

The striking front end is dominated by the traditional grille-replacing ‘shield’, which instead of being a conventional affair hides a lot of the tech that makes the car tick including Lidar. Another high point, quite literally, is the way the interior can accommodate even the tallest of occupants, despite the fact that the Ariya has its batteries in the flat floorpan.

Based on what you can see from Nissan’s images, once you’re sitting inside that Japanese influence is obvious, while less immediately spotted aspects such as seats with thinner frames means that the car should feel roomier.

Nissan Ariya and IMk

Nissan Ariya and IMk

It’s all Japanese minimalism too, with a 12.3-inch display monitor that features haptic controls offering a definite air of less-is-more for occupants.

And, if you want a premium feel then you should get that too from the seat coverings, door trims and natural wood flourishes that deliver an almost living-room-on-wheels experience.

The Ariya Concept sounds like it might have performance to match those dynamic looks too, with CHAdeMO quick charging via a port at the back of the front wing a la the Audi e-tron. Dual front and rear electric motors should promise lots of torque and Nissan executives hinted that its capabilities could be boosted with handling tweaks pulled in from the inspirational and legendary GTR. Concrete facts and figures on the eventual specification are pending, but the Ariya does sound like it could be a very exciting prospect to drive.

Wild looks

It isn't just Nissan that has been busy on the design front though as several other flamboyant concept vehicles dominated the Tokyo Motor Show floorspace. Toyota unveiled its mad-looking e-Racer concept, along with the similarly zany LQ.

Meanwhile, Lexus also had a solid pop at creativity with the outlandishly OTT design lines of its LF-30. Next to that the Mercedes-EQ looked mild by comparison. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi had a pretty wild concept offering in the shape of a plug-in hybrid SUV called the Mi-Tech.

Elsewhere, the rather likeable Hanare from Suzuki brought the living room on wheels theme back to life and this oddball creation doesn't get hindered by the sort of silly accoutrements you get in regular cars. In the case of the Harare that includes a lack of steering wheel and driver’s seat. Whether or not you’d actually ever see one on the road remains to be seen, but unlike the Ariya that's concepts for you.

Suzuki also had another bright idea on its booth – the shapeshifting Waku SPO two-seater PHEV that can morph into a pick-up or van. Its less radical Hustler looked modest close by as it draws inspiration from existing Kei cars.

Away from pure concepts, Mazda took the covers of its first proper EV in the shape of the MX-30, which is far more sensible. That’s not to forget the loveable and out soon Honda-e too of course, which made the revised and hugely practical Jazz look slightly tired by comparison.

So then, lots of EVs, and one or two concepts that might actually make it into production…

Media Molecule wants Dreams to go beyond the PlayStation ecosystem

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 05:24 AM PDT

Media Molecule’s ambitious sandbox game Dreams may be a PlayStation 4 exclusive at the moment but if the studio has its way players could eventually take their creations beyond Sony’s platforms.

Members of the Early Access Dreams community have already been using the game to make things like album covers and pieces for showreels and portfolios and the hope is to make it possible for players to take their creations to a wider audience on different platforms.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Media Molecule’s co-founder Kareem Ettouney said that the studio would like “people to be able to go to the moon with their projects” which would eventually mean “everything you make in Dreams is yours to use commercially outside of Dreams”.

Dream big

To make any of this possible, the studio is looking into commercial licenses for players, while within the game itself, some enhancements will need to happen before the studio's multi-platform exporting dreams can become a reality.

As Ettouney went on to explain, “The very limited exporting features the moment are like exporting a video, but we have in the long-term [plans for] exporting a standalone game outside of Dreams entirely — exporting to other devices and beyond.”

Dreams is in PS4 Early Access at the moment (and has been since April) and Ettouney understands that the developer and its game will have to lay some groundwork before any kind of bigger move from PS4 onto PC.

When asked if Dreams as a game would ever make its way from PS4 to PC or Mac the response was measured:

“The answer to every question is ‘yes’, but Dreams needs to reach a lot of people first. Our goal for Dreams is to last for 20 years, and keep expanding it and keep adding to it and keep improving it … But it’s definitely in our dreams to do Pro versions that are expanded. It just depends on a lot of things working out for us.”

While Media Molecule has big hopes for Dreams, much depends on how successful it is in its early days but we’re looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Wales vs South Africa live stream: how to watch today's Rugby World Cup 2019 semi-final from anywhere

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 03:35 AM PDT

Do we have another Rugby World Cup semi-final classic on our hands? There's nothing in it between the Welsh and the Springboks and nerves of fans around the world are shredding! A place in the Rugby World Cup final is at stake, but which team will run out as winners? Watch the action as it happens with our Wales vs South Africa live stream guide.

Wales scraped through by the finest of margins in the closing stages of their quarter-final against France, and will have to be improve if they are to make next week's final.

The Springboks have improved as the tournament has gone on, going about their business somewhat under the radar, and go into the game as slight favourites.

South Africa showed plenty of discipline in their quarter-final victory over Japan, resisting wave upon wave of the host nation's attacks before running out comfortable winners, and they'll likely need to show similar resilience against a talented Welsh side on Sunday.

Jonathan Davies looks set to return at centre for the Welsh after he missed out against France because of a knee injury, but the news isn't so good regarding back-rower Josh Navidi who has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament with a hamstring injury.

England await and you can watch all the action from pretty much anywhere on Earth by following our Rugby World Cup Wales vs South Africa live stream guide below.

Still got an iPhone 5? You need to update it to keep it working

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 03:30 AM PDT

If you or someone you know is still clinging on to an iPhone 5, it needs to be updated within the next week to iOS 10.3.4, otherwise the handset is going to lose a serious amount of functionality.

The App Store, iCloud services, the ability to send and receive emails, and access to the web are some of the features you'll lose if you don't update in that time – so that covers a lot of the important stuff you do on your phone.

Apple says the problem is down to a GPS-related time bug that affects the way GPS services track times and dates (it's a bit like the millennium bug). Most modern devices have been built to cope, but some older hardware can get confused.

That older hardware includes the iPhone 5, but if you are still using one, then you should already know about this: Apple has been displaying full-screen alerts warning people to install the newest update.

Keep on updating

Keeping your phone (and every other device you own) up to date is of course good practice anyway – that's why these updates are usually set to install themselves manually without much in the way of user interaction.

Sometimes though we can put off updates for whatever reason. As a result, our phones and other gadgets miss out on some important security patches and bug fixes.

If you don't manage to update your iPhone 5 in time – November 3 is the deadline – then all is not lost, but you will have to use a computer to backup and restore the handset rather than relying on over-the-air updates.

Fortunately this should only apply to a small number of users – the iPhone 5 launched back in September 2012. The iOS 10.3.4 was originally pushed out in July, so most affected handsets should already have the patch applied.

EA is teasing a return to Steam

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 02:53 AM PDT

EA has added fuel to the fire of rumors that it will be making a return to Valve's Steam Store.

With a single tweet featuring an EA-branded steaming mug and little else, the company seems to be giving a knowing nod to the rumors without actually commenting on them. Even if the tweet is not a confirmation, however, it’s certainly more promising than an outright denial.

The rumors that EA would be bringing its games back to Steam started earlier in the week, when Twitter user RobotBrush posted their discovery that a test application for running Origin games on Steam had been used.

This suggests that in the event of a return to Steam, EA would adopt an approach similar to Ubisoft's Uplay, where players would be able to purchase EA games on Steam but would still have to use the Origin launcher to play them.

As promising as EA’s tweet is, however, it’s still frustratingly unclear.

EA’s games haven’t been available on Steam since the launch of the Origins Store in 2011 and some believe that if the publisher does decide to return to the Steam Store it may only make its legacy titles like Dragon Age and Mass Effect available, while new releases such as Jedi: Fallen Order will remain exclusive to the Origin Store.

However, having new EA titles available to buy on Steam could be beneficial for both parties. It would give Valve one up on Epic’s Games Store, while EA would have a better chance of generating revenue for its PC releases by making them significantly more visible.

Despite EA’s tweet, nothing is confirmed just yet but we’ll be watching closely for more announcements.

Free Chromebook offer with Google Pixel 4 deals ends very soon

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 02:13 AM PDT

It sounds like an offer of Black Friday magnitude, but you'll have to snap this one up over a month before the massive sales event even begins. Grab yourself a Google Pixel 4 deal before midnight on Monday night and you can claim a FREE Chromebook to go with it.

Pixel 4 deals (as well as prices on its bigger brother the Pixel 4 XL) were already cheaper than we feared they might have been. But then the majority of major retailers agreed to throw in an extra little sweetener. Just like on the Pixel 3a release earlier in the year, if you order the Pixel 4 now you can also claim that free Chromebook freebie worth in excess of £200.

Still not happy? Then maybe this will convince you...Carphone Warehouse will also chuck a tasty little voucher at you if you pre-order Pixel 4 deals from the retailer. Get a £50 giftcard for Currys PC World, Google Play, Just Eat or a pre-paid Mastercard if you order on contract, or £25 value for Currys PC World, Costa, a pre-paid Mastercard or a Now TV Sky Sports 1 Month Pass if you're buying SIM-free.

Where to buy Google Pixel 4 deals:

If you want to order the Pixel 4 (or, indeed, the Google Pixel 4 XL), then you can do so immediately from Google or any of the following retailers and claim that free Chromebook:

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 02:00 AM PDT

It’s been six long years since Nintendo last released a game in the Luigi’s Mansion series, and with fans beginning to give up hope of another, the announcement that a sequel will hit Nintendo Switch in 2019 is very welcome news indeed.

Announced with a trailer during a Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2018 the tentatively named Luigi’s Mansion 3, is set to be released on Switch this Halloween - very spooky indeed.

During Nintendo Direct at E3 2019, we got a bunch of new details about what we can expect from the next game in the spooky series. Here's everything we know so far about Luigi's Mansion 3.

[Update: Some footage of the multiplayer ScreamPark mode has been revealed! Check it out for yourself below.]

Cut to the chase

  • What can I play it on? Nintendo Switch

Luigi's Mansion 3 release date

Luigi's Mansion 3 will launch for Nintendo Switch on October 31st, 2019 (AKA Halloween!). It's a very fitting release date for such a spooky title.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 trailers

A lengthy new Overview Trailer has been released for Luigi's Mansion 3 and it's chock full of new gameplay footage and a look at some new boss fights. The trailer commentary is in Japanese but if you're not a fluent speaker, what you're seeing will pretty much speak for itself.

Gamescom 2019 brought us our longest look at Luigi's Mansion 3 yet. 30 whole minutes of gameplay showing both single-player and co-op in a brand new garden-themed level. Watch it for yourself below.

Nintendo dropped a more in-depth gameplay trailer for Luigi's Mansion 3 during E3 2019. Check it out below:

Although the first trailer doesn’t give away much, it does give us a sneak peek at the high quality graphics and gameplay. Check it out below:

Luigi's Mansion 3 news and rumors

ScreamPark mode

It's not long now until Luigi's Mansion 3 launches and Nintendo has released footage of one of the game's upcoming multiplayer modes: ScreamPark.

This competitive multiplayer mode will see players divide into teams and play across three Mario Party-style 2v2 mini games titled Ghost Hunt, Cannon Barrage and Coin Floating. You can see the game in action in the 12 minutes of gameplay released by Nintendo below.

Post-launch DLC and expanded multiplayer content

Nintendo quietly updated the official website for Luigi's Mansion 3 to reveal that after its Halloween launch, “Paid DLC will come to Luigi's Mansion 3 in the future, adding new content to the ScareScraper and ScreamPark multiplayer modes.” Scarescraper is a co-op multiplayer mode while ScreamPark is a competitive multiplayer so while we can't be certain of which forms the content will take in the paid DLC, nor how much it will cost, we can surmise that it'll be at least as diverse as the two modes.

Puzzles
There are plenty of puzzles in the haunted hotel to keep you occupied (as well as a few hidden secrets). It'll take a combination of Luigi's Poltergust, plungers and Gooigi to solve them.

Luigi's Mansion 3

Gamescom 2019
We got a short amount of time with Luigi's Mansion 3 at Gamescom. Check out our hands on: Luigi's Mansion 3 review. If you want a further in-depth look at the game, don't forget to check out the brand new 30 minutes of footage released during Gamescom above. It gives a look at single-player and co-op in a brand new level of the game.

Releasing this Halloween
Nintendo has confirmed Luigi's Mansion 3 will launch on October 31st, 2019 (AKA Halloween).

ScareScaper mode
This co-op and competitive mode sees you clearing rooms, taking on ghosts and completing challenges to collect coins. Can be played online or couch co-op.

Lots of rooms in the hotel
Including a greenhouse, film studio, and theatre stage.

Gooigi
Luigi can now summon a flubber-like version of himself that can slip through bars and walk over spikes. Even better, a friend can control Gooigi and you can co-op.

New functions
Including Slam (which slams ghosts on the ground), Suction Shot (which attaches the plunger to an item before pulling it away, destorying it), and Burst (an air pressure group attack).

Story
Luigi's Mansion 3 sees Luig being invited to stay in a hotel alongside his friends Mario, Peach and co. But unfortunately the hotel isn't quite what it seems and things take a dark turn when he arrives. There are some ghost guests who refuse to check out and they're not exactly friendly.

Poltergust G-00
Luigi's got a brand new vacuum, in the form of the Poltergust G-00. This new super sucker can fire plungers, use jet propulsion to increase jumping, and use the Strobulb.

Xbox Project Scarlett games: all the games confirmed and expected on the next Xbox

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 01:50 AM PDT

Microsoft officially announced Xbox Project Scarlett during its E3 2019 keynote conference. It's real, and it's coming.

Faster and capable of more advanced graphics than its predecessors, the next-generation hardware promises to be the most powerful games console (or perhaps consoles) in the world when it launches late in 2020 – even more so than the PS5, which is expected to hit shelves around the same time.

While Microsoft has confirmed at least one game that's coming to Xbox Project Scarlett, we're fairly in the dark as to what other titles we will see hitting the platform.

So without further ado, we've gathered together this handy guide to all the Xbox Project Scarlett games Microsoft has confirmed - and some that we expect to see...

Confirmed Xbox Scarlett titles

Halo Infinite

Xbox Project Scarlett games

Halo Infinite is currently the only title that Microsoft has actually confirmed for Xbox Project Scarlett - so we definitely know Master Chief is making the jump to the next-generation console.

Not only that, but Halo Infinite will be a launch title for Project Scarlett, releasing in Holiday 2020 alongside the console (or consoles). It's not particularly a surprise, considering Master Chief has served as the face of Xbox for nearly 18 years...

Suspected Xbox Scarlett titles

Cyberpunk 2077

Xbox Project Scarlett games

CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that its dystopian cyberpunk title is being developed with next-generation consoles in mind.

In an interview with VG247 last year, CD Projekt Red revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be able to work with future gaming technology.

“Next gen hasn’t been announced yet, so we can only speculate,” CD Projekt Red president Adam Kiciński explained. “Technology-wise, Cyberpunk is very advanced. Our technology is ready to interface with future generations.

“The game is developed in such a way that it can use very powerful future equipment."

With Cyberpunk 2077 due for release in April 2020, and Xbox Project Scarlett not due to launch until late 2020, it's likely that it'll be a cross-generation title - but this is still open to speculation. We think it's safe to say it seems like Cyberpunk 2077 will be a Xbox Project Scarlett game.

Starfield

Xbox Project Scarlett games

Bethesda has quite a lot of projects in the works, but the one we seem to know the least about is Starfield. All we know so far is that Starfield is the gaming behemoth's first new IP in 25 years and will be a single player RPG set in outer space.

Having only seen an announcement trailer, we don't expect Starfield to release until at least 2020 which means it will land in the prime window to become an Xbox Project Scarlett game. Bethesda hasn't let slip if this will be the case, but it seems likely we will be venturing into Bethesda's galaxy on next-generation consoles.

The Elder Scrolls 6

Xbox Project Scarlett games

As we said, Bethesda has been pretty busy behind the scenes since E3 2018. Not only is Starfield on the cards, but the long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6 has also been confirmed to be in the works.

Bethesda's Todd Howard has already stated that The Elder Scrolls 6 won't be coming out until after Starfield. So it'll be a while before we venture into Tamriel again, likely on next-generation consoles.

Grand Theft Auto 6

Xbox Project Scarlett games

Ok, yes, we are being a bit hopeful here - mainly because Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been announced by Rockstar Games. But it's almost guaranteed that we will see a new instalation in the Grand Theft Auto series, and it's not going to be for a while.

Therefore, it is likely that a release date will fall into the next generation, making GTA 6 a Project Scarlett game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Again, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has not been confirmed to be an Xbox Project Scarlett game but Square Enix has confirmed the title will come to PS4 first - with an Xbox One and PC release likely in the future .

Given the age of the Xbox One, and the ambitious nature of the game - it's coming in multiple episodes across a multi-year release schedule - a cross-generation title with next-gen platforms isn't out of the question. So we're definitely hoping to see the Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox Project Scarlett.

Watch Dogs: Legion

First announced at E3 2019, Watch Dogs Legion was initially confirmed for a March 2020 release. However, since then Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will now be delayed into the next financial year which runs from April 2020 to March April 2021, meaning Watch Dogs Legion could see a delay of as little as a month or up to a year.

This delay does, however, make it more likely than ever that Watch Dogs Legion will launch for Xbox Project Scarlett as a cross-generation title.

Gods and Monsters

Just like Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters is another title from Ubisoft announced for Xbox at E3 2019 that's been delayed from its original early 2020 release into the next financial year.

Knowing now that we could see Gods and Monsters released any time between April 2020 and March 2021, we think it's increasingly likely that the title will make an appearance on the Xbox Project Scarlett platform.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Rainbow Six Quarantine was first confirmed during Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference. It was never given a solid release date but it has since been delayed into the 2020-2021 financial year.

So, while we still don't know a release date, this delay has pushed the game closer to the Xbox Project Scarlett launch and increased the likelihood we'll see it playable on the next generation of consoles.

PS5 games: all the games confirmed and expected on the PlayStation 5

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 01:35 AM PDT

Once upon a time the PlayStation 5 merely seemed like a gamer's dream but, now Sony has dropped the first solid details of its next generation console and an official release window of late 2020, things are starting to get very real.

So we can't help but stargaze and speculate about what PS5 games Sony has in the works - and what these next generation titles could look like.

While Sony has confirmed some of the games coming to the PS5, we can assume that a lot of the developer's upcoming exclusive titles will be coming to both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

So without further ado, we've gathered together this handy guide to all the PS5 games Sony has confirmed - and some that we expect to see...

Confirmed: New Bluepoint Studios game

It's taken months, but we've finally got our first confirmed PS5 game. That's not to say we have a name, a release date or even a concept, but this is the first time a company has come out into the open and said that it is indeed developing a title for Sony's next-generation console.

That company is Bluepoint Studios, the team best known for ports of classic games, having put out the incredibly well received Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and astonishing Shadow of the Colossus remaster.

Talk early in 2019 pointed to the studio's next project being yet another re-imagining of a classic game, and with rumors swirling around a Demon's Souls remake happening (an IP owned by Sony unlike the rest of the Bandai Namco franchise), it's looking like a relatively good guess that'll be the company's next title.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Rumored

PS5 games

CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that its dystopian cyberpunk title is being developed with next generation consoles in mind.

Death Stranding - Rumored

PS5 games

Hideo Kojima and Sony have been pretty tight-lipped about whether we will be seeing Death Stranding as a PS5 game.

We know Death Stranding will definitely release on PS4 this November, but in an interview with Wired, Sony's Mark Cerny hinted that we could be seeing the allusive title on PS5 too.

When asked by Wired about the transition from PS4 to next generation, and how Death Stranding will fit into this process, Cerny gave a "pregnant pause" and a glib smile before a spokesperson interjected that game would be released for PS4.

It's not exactly a confirmation but Cerny's response has definitely fueled speculation that Death Stranding will be a cross-generation release.

Ghost of Tsushima - Rumored

PS5 games

Perhaps more wishful thinking on our part, but we haven't heard much in the way of Ghost of Tsushima news since the new IP was revealed at Paris Games Week 2017.

We do know that SuckerPunch's historical open world adventure will take players back to Feudal Japan and that development is well underway, but we have little information about when Ghost of Tsushima will release - or what consoles we will see it on.

Given the high-quality graphics we've seen in the trailers to date, we wouldn't be surprised if the title releases on both PS4 and PS5. However, Sony and SuckerPunch have remained tight-lipped about whether Ghost of Tsushima will be a PS5 game.

The Last of Us: Part 2 - Rumored

PS5 games

We now know that The Last of Us: Part 2 will release on May 29, 2020 - much earlier than the PS5's late 2020 release date. However we think it's a safe assumption that any Sony exclusives coming in 2020 will likely be cross-generation titles.

It would seem slightly odd for Sony to release one of its most eagerly anticipated sequels for just the PS4 at the end of the console's life cycle. So we think it's a safe bet to assume Joel and Ellie will make their way to the PS5, instantly becoming one of the best PS5 games.

Starfield - Rumored

Given the age of the PS4, and the ambitious nature of the game, a cross-generation title with next-gen platforms isn't out of the question. So we're definitely hoping to see the Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS5.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2 - Rumored

PS5 games

Now, it's worth noting this title hasn't been officially confirmed nevermind being confirmed for PS5.

Sony has had huge success with its PS4 exclusives, particularly post-apocalyptic RPG Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best-selling games on the PS4, selling over 10 million copies and cementing itself as a must-have title. So it would make perfect sense for Guerrilla Games to develop a sequel, right?

It seems that is exactly what's happening. While neither Sony nor Guerrilla Games have announced a Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is in the works, one of the game's voice actors spilled the beans earlier this year and essentially confirmed a sequel is on the way. But with no release date in sight, it looks likely that Horizon Zero Dawn will land on PS5.

God of War 2 - Rumored

PS5 games

Much like Horizon Zero Dawn 2, God of War 2 hasn't officially been confirmed to be in the works.

It's only been a year since the critically acclaimed (and our Game of the Year 2018 winner) God of War reboot launched exclusively on PlayStation 4, but we're already looking to the future.

Despite Sony remaining tight-lipped on the subject, the success of God of War means a sequel is probably on the way (perhaps another God of War 2?). In addition, Sony Santa Monica has posted job listings for a number of roles across its teams - with one listing clearly citing the God of War reboot.

At this point, it's most likely that God of War 2 will come to PS5 than the PS4.

Watch Dogs Legion - Rumored

First announced at E3 2019, Watch Dogs Legion was initially confirmed for a March 2020 release. However, since then Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will now be delayed into the next financial year which runs from April 2020 to March April 2021, meaning Watch Dogs Legion could see a delay of as little as a month or up to a year.

This delay does, however, make it more likely than ever that Watch Dogs Legion will launch on the PS5 platform. Especially after the game's Creative Director, Clint Hocking, said that the game will launch on "PlayStation platforms" (that's a curious plural) during the E3 Coliseum

Gods and Monsters - Rumored

Just like Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters is another title from Ubisoft announced for PS4 at E3 2019 that's been delayed from its original early 2020 release into the next financial year.

Knowing now that we could see Gods and Monsters released any time between April 2020 and March 2021, we think it's increasingly likely that the title will make an appearance on the PS5 platform.

Rainbow Six Quarantine - Rumored

Rainbow Six Quarantine was first confirmed during Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference. It was never given a solid release date but it has since been delayed into the 2020-2021 financial year.

So, while we still don't know a release date, this delay has pushed the game closer to the PS5 launch and increased the likelihood we'll see it playable on the next generation of consoles.

Leak suggests Intel Tiger Lake-U to utilize LPDDR5 memory

Posted: 26 Oct 2019 12:18 PM PDT

We’re still a long way away from seeing Intel’s Tiger Lake-U processors in thin and light laptops – they won’t likely hit the shelves until 2020. However, that hasn’t stopped the rumor mills of the computing world from spreading leaks and speculations about these 10nm chips.

The latest of those leaks suggests that these next generation processors might be compatible with LPDDR5 memory. According to Tom’s Hardware, hardware leaker @KOMACI_ENSAKA recently shared on Twitter a Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) notification – registered on October 18 – that shows Tiger Lake-U chips that use LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 memory (RAM).

This is excellent news for thin and light laptop fans everywhere, especially those who are waiting until next year to upgrade their somewhat aging laptops. That’s because LPDDR5’s data transfer rate can be maxed out at a whopping 6,400 Mbps – compared to LPDDR4’s 3,200 Mbps and LPDDR4X’s 4,266 Mbps. Improvements doesn’t just stop there: LPDDR5 is also supposed to consume less power – up to 30% less than LPDDR4X, and has "deep sleep" power-saving mode available.

These features are key to making the Intel Tiger Lake-U chips ideal to power the next generation of thin and light laptops, as these devices are expected to offer considerably longer battery life, to start.

What we know about Tiger Lake-U so far

That’s not all. Last month, we also saw a bootlog, shared by @InstLatX64, showcasing its specs. This solid leak shows Tiger Lake-U to boast four cores, eight threads for Hyper-Threading, a base clock of 1.0 GHz and a boost clock of 3.4 GHz – a massive and promising jump over Ice Lake.

Aside from this latest leak, the 10nm Ice Lake-U successor is also anticipated to feature Generation 12 graphics (GPU). That’s on top of benchmarks we’ve seen showing one of these processors giving the Core i7-8665U and Ryzen 7 3700U a run for their money.

Regis Prograis vs Josh Taylor live stream: how to watch the fight online from anywhere

Posted: 26 Oct 2019 12:12 PM PDT

With legal disputes that threatened to put a block on tonight's fight now resolved, America’s WBA champion Regis Prograis takes on Scotland’s IBF champion Josh Taylor tonight at the O2 in London. It's being highly anticipated, and you can make sure you don't miss out by following our Prograis vs Taylor live stream guide.

Prograis had filed a lawsuit over late payments against Comosa, the organisers of tonight's super-lightweight World Boxing Super Series final, but the action is now thankfully set to place in a ring rather than a law court.

The hype is building around Taylor, who is now unbeaten in 15 fights. Tonight represents the biggest challenge of the tall and rangy Edinburgh-born boxer's career, coming up against a more experienced opponent who also stands undefeated, with 24 wins under his belt.

Prograis has been installed as 8-13 favourite with the bookmakers, but many pundits see it as a fight too close to call. The New Orleans native will have to contend with a crowd firmly in support of Taylor tonight. Nevertheless, having had to contend with the devastation and displacement caused by hurricane Katrina when he was a teenager in order to make it as a boxer, a hostile arena is highly unlikely to phase the 30-year-old.

Read on to find out how to live stream Prograis vs Taylor boxing from absolutely anywhere.

Live stream Prograis vs Taylor from outside your country

In the UK or North America (where DAZN has you sorted) tonight? Then scroll just a little further down this page and we'll tell you who's broadcasting the boxing from where you are. As well as some bad news for those Down Under.

But if you're abroad this weekend then you'll need another way to watch and avoid possible geo-blocking. That's where using a VPN comes in.
