Cowboys vs Eagles live stream: how to watch today's NFL football 2019 from anywhere

As the 2019-20 regular season comes to a close next week, all eyes are on the playoffs and this weekend you’ll get to see the Dallas Cowboys face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. This is a game you won’t want to miss as it will essentially serve as the NFC East championship game and a win by the Cowboys means Dallas will take home the division title due to tiebreaker. We’re here to make sure you catch every minute of today’s game - see how to get a Cowboys vs Eagles live stream regardless of where in the world you are.

Dallas is going into today’s game 7-7 after a less than stellar season that started strong with wins in weeks 1-3 that quickly fell apart. The Cowboys did manage to defeat the Eagles 10-37 during week 7 and Philadelphia will be looking to turn the tide. Last Sunday, Dallas defeated the Rams 21-44 thanks to running back Ezekiel Elliott scoring two touchdowns and placekicker Kai Forbath scoring three field goals. Will the Cowboys be able to defeat the Eagles and bring home the NFC East Title?

Philadelphia is also going into today’s game 7-7 after an up and down season where back-to-back wins were followed with back-to-back losses. The Eagles have won their last two games though and the team will need to win again today if they hope to stay alive in the playoffs. During last Sunday’s game against the Redskins, placekicker Jake Elliott scored the first field goal of the game and running back Miles Sanders scored two touchdowns. The Eagles have a lot on the line going into today’s game and if they do defeat the Cowboys, they’ll just have to win against the Giants to secure their spot in the playoffs.

Whether you’re a Cowboys fan in Dallas, an Eagles fan in Philadelphia or just want to see which team will take home the NFC East Title - we’ll show you how to get a Cowboys vs Eagles live stream regardless of where in the world you are so you don’t miss a single play.

Watch the Cowboys vs Eagles game online from outside your country (or in a blackout)

Watching this game from the US, UK, Canada or Australia? We'll tell you how to catch the NFL game further down in the article.

But if you're somewhere else in the world - or if a coverage blackout is stopping you from watching in the US - then there's still a way you can live stream the Cowboys vs Eagles online (and you don't even have to slum it with a grainy, illegal feed you've found on Reddit). Instead you could use a VPN - or Virtual Private Network - to change the IP address to one in a different state or country which does have a stream. And it's not even hard to do.

How to watch the Cowboys vs Eagles in the US

Can I watch with the NFL Game Pass?

Well it's a no and a yes. The NFL Game Pass in the US will only let you watch a replay of the game, but not the live action.

Interestingly, it's a different story with an International NFL Game Pass where all 256 regular season games are being shown absolutely live...shame you can't officially get access to that if you and your laptop's IP address is in the US.

Other ways cord cutters can stream NFL live online

Sling TV $40 per month - Sling TV splits its live NFL options across its $25 a month Blue plan and $25 a month Orange plan. By combining the two, you get a $10 dollar discount and access to Fox, NBC, ESPN and the NFL Network.

Hulu with Live TV $40 per month - Hulu with Live TV includes CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN but does not come with NFL Network.

FuboTV $35 for the first month - FuboTV gives you the first month at a discounted rate but after that the price increases to $45 a month. The service includes CBS, Fox, NBC and the NFL Network but does not come with ESPN.

DirecTV Now $50 per month - DirecTV Now includes CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN and for $5 extra you can add the NFL Network. However, with this service you can only watch football on local TV stations live.

YouTubeTV $40 per month - YouTubeTV gives you access to CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN but just like with Hulu with Live TV, there is no NFL Network.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite release date, news and leaks

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 09:00 AM PST

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is a phone that for a long time we weren’t at all sure existed – at least under that name. It’s a name that - given the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S10e and the proximity of the Samsung Galaxy S11 - remains strange, but it’s seemingly accurate.

And while so far all Samsung has confirmed is the name, plenty of leaks and rumors have filled in the gaps, telling us almost everything there is to know about the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite.

You’ll find all of that below, including specs, possible pricing, and release date details, though given that the information isn’t official you should of course take it all with a pinch of salt.

Cut to the chase

  • What is it? A lower-end S10 model
  • When is it out? Possibly December or January
  • What will it cost? Maybe €669 (around $740/£565/AU$1,090)

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite release date and price

The latest Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite release date rumor suggests it will land within a few days of December 20. That means it could be about to launch.

It’s a rumor that lines up with earlier ones: one suggested an announcement sometime in December, while another pointed specifically to December 27. Though elsewhere we’ve heard that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite won’t launch until mid-January – at least in India. So we’re not really sure what’s accurate right now, but all the rumors suggest it’s landing fairly soon.

As for its price, multiple sources have now suggested the Galaxy S10 Lite will retail for €669 (around $740/£565/AU$1,090). That’s a price that could put it roughly in line with what the standard Samsung Galaxy S10 currently sells for.

The S10 Lite might cost as much as the S10, above

Design and display

We’ve seen leaked renders supposedly showing the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, and in them it looks a lot more like the rumored Samsung Galaxy S11 than the Samsung Galaxy S10.

That’s largely because it has a punch-hole camera in the top center of the screen, rather than the top right, and there’s a large camera block in the top left corner of the rear.

The frame is metal, the back is likely glass, and there’s no headphone port. Note that while the phone is referred to as the Samsung Galaxy A91 in the image below, this is believed to simply be another name for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite.

That’s probably what the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite looks like, but it’s worth noting that Samsung has also patented a design that’s a closer match for the rest of the S10 range, including more centered rear cameras, and a dual-lens punch-hole camera in the top right corner of the screen. This patent doesn’t mention the S10 Lite by name though, so it’s probably for another phone.

As for the screen, almost all rumors so far put that at 6.7 inches, though one source ever so slightly disagrees, suggesting that it will actually be 6.69 inches. It’s said to be a Full HD+ Super AMOLED display.

Camera

We’ve heard several times now that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will have a triple-lens camera, consisting of a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide one, and a 5MP one that might either be a depth sensor or a macro one, depending on who you believe. In any case, it sounds like the phone won’t have a telephoto lens.

Though such a lens does remain a possibility, as the renders above show a square lens, and where square lenses are used on phones they’re typically for zoom cameras.

In any case, sources all seem to agree that the Galaxy S10 Lite will have a 32MP front-facing camera.

The S10 Lite is rumored to have more lenses than the S10e, above

Battery and specs

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will reportedly have a 4,500mAh battery. That’s a leak we’ve heard multiple times, so it’s likely accurate. It would also be one of the largest batteries Samsung has put in an S-series handset, matching the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. It’s a battery that also apparently supports 45W fast charging.

As for the other specs, sources suggest that the Galaxy S10 Lite will have a Snapdragon 855 chipset (the same as you’ll find in US models of the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S10 range), along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s also thought to run Android 10.

Tottenham vs Chelsea live stream: how to watch today's Premier League 2019 football online from anywhere

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 08:26 AM PST

Jose Mourinho returns to his old hunting ground in a London derby clash which could hold a big bearing on both clubs hopes of finishing in the top four. It's a big game for both teams - don't miss a kick with our Tottenham vs Chelsea live stream guide below.

Following an impressive start to life as Blues boss, Frank Lampard must now address a recent slump which has seen his side slump to defeats against West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth.

Lampard looks set to ring the changes following his side's lacklustre display in the defeat to Bournemouth, with Mateo Kovačić and Callum Hudson-Odoi likely to be brought back into the starting line-up.

Spurs come into the match off the back of a dogged late 2-1 victory away at Wolves, but while results have been impressive since he took the helm in north London, Mourinho will nevertheless be looking to sort out a defence that can't stop leaking goals. With no new injuries to worry him, Mourinho looks set to stick with what is becoming one of the more settled line-ups in the Premier League.

Can Chelsea bounce back against Tottenham Hotspur or will Jose get one over his old club at home? Don't miss a moment of this London derby with our Spurs vs Chelsea live stream guide below. Don't expect the Samsung Galaxy S11 to be all that easy to repair

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 06:30 AM PST

If you're thinking about picking up a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S11 this February, here's another factor to take into consideration – it might be harder to take apart and repair than its predecessors in the Galaxy S range.

As per a report in The Elec (via SamMobile), Samsung is apparently making the switch from double-sided adhesive to glue, giving the responsibility of sticking its phones together to Weldbond in China and HB Fuller in the US.

What that means is that the S11 handsets are likely to be harder to pull apart and get inside than the Galaxy S10 phones were – and so you might have your work cut out trying to get these devices repaired.

It's perhaps not as important as battery life or camera quality, but repairability is something else to consider when buying a smartphone, if only to make life easier for the staff at your local mobile repair shop.

Break it down

We're now well used to the fine folks at iFixit breaking down computers, phones and many other gadgets to see how easy they are to assemble and disassemble, and the Galaxy S10 ended up with a rather low 3 out of 10 repairability score.

That might drop even further once the Galaxy S11 sees the light of day. The next family of flagship phones are expected to break cover at the MWC 2020 show at the end of February, or perhaps slightly earlier.

From Samsung's perspective, a switch to more glue means lower costs and the opportunity to make the bezels on its phones even thinner, so it makes sense when it comes to getting the handsets built.

On the other hand, tape is better from a waterproofing perspective, and is also easier to replace, should you have to take your phone apart for whatever reason. We'll have to wait until next year to see exactly what changes Samsung puts in place.

Top Christmas gifts: vouchers and gift cards

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 06:00 AM PST

With the holidays only days away, you may be caught desperately trying to think of a few last-minute gift ideas. Let's face it, we've all got that awkward-to-buy-for family member that you barely see more than once a year. Maybe, too, you're looking for an extra stocking-filler or two to brighten up someone's Christmas.

Whoever you're buying for, you won't go far wrong with one of our top Christmas gift cards. We've collected a selection of the top Christmas gift cards below across a range of different interests. Most of the options below give you the flexibility of choosing between buying digitally or via a local retailer, so you can pick them up wherever you're reading this.

So whether the intended recipient is an avid reader or a hardcore PC gamer - or both! - you're sure to discover something that will satisfy even the most difficult friends or family members. Read on to discover our favorite gift cards for last-minute gift ideas.

Amazon

Amazon Gift Card

If you're stuck wondering what would make the perfect gift for that cousin you know very little about, an Amazon gift card (UK here and Australia here) may be exactly what you're looking for. Amazon has a huge range of goodies, from everyday essentials to PC parts - and pretty much everything in between.

You can select the amount you wish to spend and Amazon gives you a number of options for delivery; you can send it via email, text, or any messaging service that you have installed on your phone or tablet. If you'd prefer to have something physical to give on Christmas morning, you can print your own or have it delivered.

Microsoft Gift Card

A Microsoft gift card offers a lot of flexibility. The purchased balance can be used to purchase apps or games on Windows, as well as devices and accessories from the Microsoft Store. You can also use it against games, movies, and TV shows on Xbox, making this a really versatile gift option for anyone that spends a significant amount of time at their PC or Xbox console.

The Microsoft gift card is only available digitally and comes in a number of denominations - from $10 to $100 (£10 to £50 in the UK) - so whichever price point you choose, you can be sure you're going to make someone happy on Christmas morning.

An App Store & iTunes gift card could be the perfect gift for the family member that always has their head buried in their iPad or iPhone. Along with the huge variety of apps that are available, the balance can also be used to purchase goods from other Apple services such as iTunes Store, Apple Books, and Apple Music. This makes an App Store and iTunes gift card a great choice for fans of Apple products.

These gift cards are available to send either by post or digitally via email. There's a little more flexibility with the digital option, allowing you to choose your own amount from anywhere between $10 and $200 (£10 and £200).

Google Play Store

A Google Play gift card is an excellent choice for an Android-owning friend or family member. You can use your Google Play balance to buy books, movies or music from the Google Play Store or if you've had your eye on one of the best Android apps but have been reluctant to fork out the cash, a Google Play gift card could well be your answer.

You can pick up a Google Play gift card in brick-and-mortar stores or online retailers (UK is here) and, as with most other gift cards on this list, you'll have a choice of exactly how much you'd like to spend.

It seems that everyone has a Netflix subscription these days or, at the very least, has access to some sort of entertainment streaming service. But if you know someone who's missing out on binge-watching the new Witcher series or if you want to help someone with the cost of their subscription, a Netflix gift card is a good way to go.

You can choose to buy online or in-store and both choices have the option of picking an amount that you feel comfortable with. Once the code is redeemed, the amount will show up on that account as a balance which will be used against future subscription renewals. If you choose to buy online, you'll be prompted for the recipient's email address but don't worry about ruining any surprises - you can choose the date that the email is sent.

In today's busy world, you don't always have the time - or inclination - to curl up with your favorite book after a hard day at work, so an Audible gift card is a solid choice for the avid reader in your life. There is a vast library of audiobooks to choose from across every conceivable genre. And the beauty of Audible is that you receive one book per month of membership and you have the freedom to listen on your drive to work or while out on a walk.

Audible works a little differently to other gift options on this list. You can choose to gift an Audible subscription (here's the link for UK) of anything from 1 month to 12 months or, if the intended recipient already has an active subscription, you can choose to gift them a specific book - or books - instead.

For the music lovers in your family, the gift of Spotify Premium is a solid choice. While the free Spotify offering is adequate, real music fans will appreciate the features that Premium gives you, such as uninterrupted, ad-free listening as well as allowing you to download songs and playlists and listen to them anywhere.

You can choose between predetermined amounts ($10, $30, $60/£10, £30, £60) which typically net you one, three, and six months premium membership respectively. As with any gift card that is purchased via Paypal, you'll need the recipient's email address though you'll be able to choose the date that the email is actually sent. And if Paypal isn't an option for you, there shouldn't be a problem grabbing a gift card from one of the big retailers where you are.

Steam

If the gamer in your life favours a good gaming PC over a console, a Steam gift card will allow them to choose from a huge variety of the best Steam games at various price points. Steam has an impressive library which includes the latest releases all the way to older classics - and almost everything in between. If you really want to push the boat out, the balance can be used against Steam's very own VR headset, the Valve Index.

There are a number of predetermined options when it comes to the amount you'd like to spend and you can pick them up from local retailers or digitally through Steam, though the latter requires you to sign up for a (free) Steam account and have the recipient on your friends list.

Nintendo eShop Gift Card

If you're looking for a gift for someone who enjoys the freedom that handheld gaming provides, you can't go far wrong with a Nintendo eShop gift card. The recipient will be able to choose from a growing library of game titles to enjoy on their Nintendo Switch. And the good news is that you can redeem the card on older Nintendo consoles too, such as the 3DS or even the Wii U.

You can choose from a number of pre-selected values, ranging from $10 to $50 (£15 to £50 in the UK). These can be purchased digitally or via local retailers.

Best OnePlus phones: these are the top new or older OnePlus handsets

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 05:00 AM PST

There are lots of reasons to want the best OnePlus phone – the company is quickly becoming one of the most popular smartphone makers on the planet, with a community of committed fans, and that's because of the quality of the phones it puts out.

OnePlus may have only celebrated its sixth birthday in December 2019, but in that time it has made several phones that have sat in our list of the best smartphones, with its 2019 lineup of phones being particularly impressive.

OnePlus typically puts out two ranges of phones each year. There's the basic numbered series towards the beginning of the year, then the T phones at the end – the latter tends to be a slightly improved version of the former for each year, with the real tech boosts coming to the main series, but that's not always the case.

That might change in 2020 though, as the company has already confirmed it has got a mystery concept phone in the works.

So if you're in the market for a new OnePlus phone, there are lots of things to choose between – T or not T, older cheaper phone or newer flagship, and with the addition of the Pro devices in 2019, the decision to go with one of them is also a consideration.

So without further ado, we've ranked all the recent OnePlus phones that we've tested, to let you know what the best ones are.

The best OnePlus phones at a glance

  1. OnePlus 7T Pro
  2. OnePlus 7T
  3. OnePlus 7 Pro
  4. OnePlus 6T
  5. OnePlus 6
  6. OnePlus 7
  7. OnePlus 5T

The best OnePlus phones

The best OnePlus phone available right now is the OnePlus 7T Pro, the upgraded version of number 3 on this list and the Pro version of number 2; it's basically a mix of those competitors.

This phone is a great-looking device, with a pop-up front-facing camera and three very decent cameras on the rear. It has got a 90Hz display which is crisp to look at, and had one of the best processors available when it came out.

It's a very small upgrade over the OnePlus 7 Pro, and has a lot in common specs-wise with the 7T, which are both more affordable phones, so if money's an issue you might want to check out the other entries on this list. If you want the real best of the best though, then the 7T Pro is for you.

Read our full OnePlus 7T Pro review

While the OnePlus 7T Pro was arguably a very slight upgrade over its predecessor, the 7T is a huge leap up from the 7; in fact, the device is even better than its 'Pro' sibling in a few ways, such as a higher-resolution zoom camera.

The OnePlus 7T has the 90Hz refresh rate, Android 10, and top-end chipset of its bigger sibling, but loses the pop-up camera and a portion of the asking price as a result.

This phone doesn't have wireless charging, but if that's a feature you need, you're in the wrong guide, as no OnePlus phones have that method of juicing up. But in general the OnePlus 7T isn't just a decent budget device, it's a fantastic one.

Read our full OnePlus 7T review

The OnePlus 7 Pro was the first 'Pro' phone from the company to come out, and in the brief time since its launch this and the 7T Pro have become some of the most popular flagships around.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has three powerful cameras, a beautiful all-screen display not broken up by a notch or punch-hole (thanks to the pop-up front-facing camera), and a great battery life and fast-charging combination. It's also not going to break the bank as much as something from Apple or Samsung.

Since the device has now been succeeded by a T-series upgrade, it's now decidedly affordable, so you can pick it up for a great price. It's not a huge downgrade either, with only a few minor differences, so we'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

Read our full OnePlus 7 Pro review

The OnePlus 6T was one of the best affordable picks of 2018, bringing top-end features at a mid-range price tag. Well, it did have a mid-range price tag, but with the release of the 7 and 7T handsets, the 6T is now seriously affordable.

The phone has decent cameras, a long-lasting battery and a sturdy, refined design, perfect for people who want a great handset without needing top-end features.

Sure, there's no wireless charging and the display isn't QHD, but not everyone needs those features in a smartphone.

Read our full OnePlus 6T review

The OnePlus 6 may have been overshadowed by the 6T in 2018, but that doesn't mean you should count it out. It was a great phone then, and it's a great phone now, even if its successors are better.

The phone has a decent camera array, a solid build, and also the last physical (as opposed to in-screen) fingerprint sensor on a OnePlus handset, so if you're looking for an affordable device with a fingerprint scanner that isn't in the screen, this is the phone for you.

Plus, thanks to the fact that it's older than the prior phones on this list, it's now rather affordable – although from most retailers it's roughly the same price as the 6T.

Read our full OnePlus 6 review

We know what you're wondering – why is the OnePlus 7 below the 6-series in our rankings of the best OnePlus phones? Well, that's because it's very similar to the 6T, but costs more, and it was also completely overshadowed by the 7 Pro.

Sure, the phone has a 48MP camera, but it's joined by a much weaker 5MP snapper, and in most other ways it's almost exactly the same phone. If you've used the 6T, you won't find the 7 very different.

That doesn't mean it's a bad phone, not by any means, and if you can find it in a deal it would be worth picking up. But for the best affordable OnePlus phone right now, you might want to stick with the 6T.

Read our full OnePlus 7 review

Sure, the OnePlus 5T may be a bit older than the other phones on this list, but there are still some good reasons to get it, not least the fact it's older and more affordable.

The phone's screen isn't broken up by a notch, as it has a bezel instead – so if you wanted one of the Pro phones because it has an unbroken screen but are on a tight budget, this might be preferable.

It has also got roughly as good a camera array as the OnePlus 6 and 6T, a decent processor, and some features which were pretty premium in 2017 - such as face unlocking - that are still great now.

Expo 2020 Dubai and 5G to give a shot in arm to VR industry in UAE next year

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 04:16 AM PST

The adoption of virtual reality (VR) headsets in the UAE is still in its infancy but the Expo 2020 Dubai, 5G and its focus on third-platform technologies (social media, mobility, cloud and Big Data analytics) will certainly help foster awareness as a whole in the country.

Expo 2020 runs from October 20, 2020, to April 10, 2021.

Akash Balachandran, Senior Research Analyst for mobile devices and AR/VR at International Data Corporation (IDC), told TechRadar Middle East that the lack of availability of virtual reality devices along with higher average selling prices has put a damper on general consumer adoption in the Middle East.

“We’ve seen initiatives that have gained some traction when it comes to commercial use cases. In the construction and real estate market through virtual property showcases, in the retail space (for instance through virtual pop-up stores from furniture giant IKEA in countries like Kuwait, Jordan and Morocco), as well as in the public sector with government entities like the RTA researching the use of VR in training use cases,” he said.

“Events that include VR implementations will allow for leaders in the commercial space, in particular, to understand and engage with VR in a meaningful way such that they may be able to drive adoption of the same within their own industries, within the UAE and the region.

Furthermore, he said that 5G will certainly be a boon for VR especially for commercial use cases since it allows for a stable, low latency and high-bandwidth connections.

5G to be a catalyst

Sukhdev Singh, vice-president at market research and analysis services provider Kantar AMRB, said that 5G is going to be a catalyst for the growth of VR and AR.

“It needs to render a higher amount of data to experience the richness of it and for that, we need 5G for latency and bandwidth. The moment the adoption rates go higher, investment into these technologies will grow,” he said.

Right now, he said the development of apps is still very low but global players have been active.

“Local development has been limited as the intake is also limited. As businesses are adopting in a big way to give customers a better experience but the actual magic will happen when consumers can access it on their devices and at their homes,” he said.

Moreover, he added that AR has got ready and serious apps right now but VR has more entertainment value.

In the long run, both AR and VR will “grow significantly”.

However, Balachandran said that it’s unlikely that just 5G alone will drive consumer adoption of VR in the short term.

While the positive impact 5G would bring to haptics, he said that resolution and lag for VR gaming, for instance, is obvious, it’s unlikely the average consumer in the region sees those benefits in the short term.

While the adoption of VR has certainly been slow in the region, it’s not in question if but when VR takes off in the business space, he added.

VR market to double after 3 years

Due to the lower cost of implementation and an existing strong developer base, Balachandran said that AR is expected to play a role in retail space first.

“With most consumers owning a capable smartphone, it’s easier to implement AR for the masses to drive consumer engagement in the brand and allow for the consumer to experience a more tailored shopping experience on the go.

“Use cases for VR in the retail space are still emerging. While VR may be used for staging and visualisation purposes by the retailer, it is unexpected to drive volume sales of VR headsets in the region in the short- to mid-term,” he said.

Moreover, he said that the lack of availability and support are key barriers in the region, as well as in the UAE, along with the ever-important price of the device.

“VR parks are few and far between and haven’t been able to drive awareness nearly enough in the region. This is partially due to the small number of such establishments, but also because unlike gaming cafes and arcades, the VR experience is often perceived to be too expensive and for a niche audience,” he said.

However, Balachandran said that Dreamscape Immersive, bringing with it unique experiences (for instance from the immensely popular How to Train Your Dragon franchise), is a great step in driving the general public to experience high-quality VR.

Majid Al Futtaim has opened Dreamscape Immersive’s first international location, outside of the US, at Mall of the Emirates in UAE.

The regional VR market is expected to be worth about $32m in 2020 and it is expected to more than double to $69m after three years.

The Light Mod is the first GoPro Hero 8 Black accessory to go on sale

Posted: 22 Dec 2019 02:30 AM PST

When the GoPro Hero 8 Black launched in October, it came with the promise of more official accessories – or Mods – to follow. The first of these is the Light Mod, which just went on sale in the US for $49.99 (about £38 / AU$72), with availability in other markets to follow soon.

As promised, the Light Mod is able to project up to 200 lumens of light on anything within 3 feet (91 centimeters), and there are actually four brightness settings to pick from.

There's a built-in rechargeable battery that GoPro says is good for around six hours of illumination between charges, and the accessory is waterproof down to around 33 feet (or 10 meters) as well, just like the Hero 8 Black itself.

The Light Mod can fix to a range of existing GoPro accessories, but to attach it directly to the Hero 8 Black, you'll need the Media Mod – which isn't actually on sale yet.

For the love of Mod

The Media Mod adds a 3.5mm mic port, a shotgun mic and HDMI out, and GoPro says pre-orders for this open in January, at a retail price of $79.99 (roughly £62 / AU$116).

We're also still waiting for the Display Mod, which gives the action cam a larger, rotatable display – that's apparently shipping in March, at the same $79.99 price point. These Mods are one of the major selling points of the Hero 8 Black, so GoPro will be relying on them to find a substantial number of buyers.

Until the Media Mod arrives, you can use the Light Mod with the head straps, the camera mounts, and the swivel clips that GoPro already sells. Basically, anywhere you can fit a GoPro, you can also fit a Light Mod.

As well as the four levels of brightness, the lighting accessory also offers a strobe mode, plus an integrated light diffuser that ensures a softer, more even light.

This cheap docking station converts your smartphone into a desktop PC

Posted: 21 Dec 2019 10:01 PM PST

Baseus may not exactly be a household name but this Chinese manufacturer has a new accessory for your Android smartphone that is probably one of the most underrated items on the market today.

This is a docking station that doubles as a phone holder and retails for only $37.99 from Gearbest using the voucher code GBSJ4603435 at checkout.

It charges your phone but can also connect it to a 4K monitor, three USB devices plus a memory card. However it doesn’t do wireless charging, and you will need to have a compatible smartphone in order to make the most of this Baseus docking station.

Docked

Current compatible models include the Huawei Mate range, the P series, the Samsung S series and the Note family.

We tried it with the latest Note 10 model and we could get the Android desktop to work flawlessly similar to the Samsung DEX. The phone only warned us that we are using a non-standard accessory.

The Baseus docking station was connected to a 4K monitor and performed seamlessly, delivering up to 15W power to your device.

You can use the split screen function that allows you to use the phone independently for calls without interruption or you can mirror your phone screen on the bigger one. You can use a keyboard and a mouse as if it was a Chrome OS or Windows 10 device.
